Hi all,
I have an interesting problem, but I'll give some background first:
I am running CM10 JB 4.2 (very happy with it).. But I upgraded from HC, before ICS was an official update.
Now that it is available, I thought I would restore the HC backup, and let it update itself. Store it, and then revert back to JB again.
However when it's finished downloading the update, and beginning to install it, it stops at 14% - bombs out, and reboots. Then it complains about not being able to update etc..
I have found the FOTA log file, and can see where it bombs out, but it makes no sense to me. (see attached)
I'm sure you are wondering why I want to do this.. it's simply because if ever I want to sell the tablet, at least it will have the correct SW on it.
Kind regards,
Also, I find that KIES will not connect with the USB cable, and only with Wifi when I'm in HC..
Done everything I know how to get it to work?

Well I heard that android 2.2 was available with froydvillian ect, so i decided to update to that, i followed the steps of installing villainrom first which was successful.
I then went onto installing froydvillain 1.5 the same way but was unsuccessful on many times (just got stuck on the hero screen).
I then decided that I'd just stick with the orange firmware so used the update on the PC get android 1.5 on.
I then was going to update the 2.1 but could get the usb to work, and it wouldn't mount to the pc. I then downloaded the update through mobile web and it installed.
Now my problems are that i cant download from android market.. "Download unsuccessful", aswell as not bieng able to sign into facebook ect.. I am signed into google. I have factory rest the phone to no luck, and cannot reinstall the firmware from the pc as im getting the usb error.
Help please?
New error, my phone says its got 50% bettery, the update on the pc says its got less than 30%.
I believe it has nothing to do with the ROMs. Me, as well as 3 or 4 of my other friends have the same problems today with the Market, some of them use the stock and others, including me, custom ROMs. I guess Google's doing some maintenance or something... I don't know why Facebook doesn't work, though.
its google issue
i have the same problem, but its good to know that its a google problem...i was a little panik rightnow cos i just flashed a new rom =)
I turned on my Prime this morning as usual routine, to get a little work done, and I was prompted for a camera firmware update. When it completed downloading, I received no usual prompt to install? Prior to download it stated the usual "approximate 10 minute installation during which your tablet will be unusable" blah blah blah, but when I clicked the download complete text in my notification bar, it just cleared it? I then went searching for it in my download app, in my files, & my file explorer. I didn't see it anywhere? I did a shutdown & restart but still nothing. I'm boot loader locked, not rooted, completely stock ICS, firmware 9.4.2.15, with camera version TF201-0x9900.
I don't know if its possibly related, but when I first received this prime, my second one, I did have trouble getting the camera firmware upgrade to install. It took several tries on Honeycomb, & then a few more on ICS before it took. I believe this was because I; didn't allow 15-20 minutes of downtime for it to sync with Asus/Google servers, which I believe is necessary with any device out of the box, especially when it has major updates immediately.
If anyone has any knowledge of this update, or any idea what may have went wrong, I would greatly appreciate your advice. Thank you to all in advance, your input is valued.

website doesn't mention it either yet
hey, first android device and first post. so i followed the rom instrutions on this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468998 ), and used odin to install on my korean S2 hd lte (that already had the new ics 4.0.3 firmware from kies) TeamLeader 1.3.7 to get around the "invalid sender" problem.
problem is, now, everything, and i mean EVERYTHING comes up as an error.
force close seems to be the norm on any app... occasionally, when messages stays on for longer than 20 seconds, i can just barely send a text message - and the invalid sender thing doesnt pop up anymore. but in a few seconds, surely enough (on pretty much any app) something, usually some obscure program, force closes.
so n00b post here, asking, what the hell did i do wrong?
i didnt do the whole fb05 thing on that link, cus i thought it was only if you wanted to back your thing up... but hell, i didnt (and still dont) even know what tegrak is supposed to do... not to flaunt ignorance, but this whole process is just way too confusing for me, and i'm desperately in need of help.
should i re-install ics? or should i get the stock firmware from gingerbread, do that fb05 and tegrak thing, then do the TL1.3?
if anyone is around in vancouver, bc, i'll be happy to pay to get this fix; otherwise, please comment! anything at all will be appreciated. thank you!
I installed TL 1.3 and when phone turned on its at the 'touch the android to begin' but google framework keeps FC and i cant do anything. Tried reflashing but still same problem. Also the Recovery Menu is not working, phone boots normally on volume up + home + power. Please help
now on 4.1 JB, well was...
Hi all, I flashed my versus 7" with the latest china JellyBean software F1-4.1.1-20130110.2.0.3-A721_V4.2.img, went fine but root broken, so recovered root with superoneclick, and all good, entered my google acct. loaded progs, checked mail, set options as I like etc, installed superuserelite and busyboxpro, rootcheckerpro, and all good, then a couple of reboots later It started up with the orig. std. 4.1 JB install with no acct., progs, optinos set, time zone etc. all gone! and its back to 'as first loaded 4.1' ??? ARRGH , the wasted time. I would really appreciate anyone who can enlighten me were I went wrong, is my 'customised' o/s gone? can I recover it as it was? or do I have to start again? Importantly how to prevent it reverting again and make it stick if I do? Please do help if you can.
Regards
With a bit of help from the phone specific forum, I've now managed to restore my "semi-bricked" Galaxy S2 and have now installed the latest version of the official firmware.
I caused the problem myself by trying to upgrade from ICS to JB with an unofficial download, but thankfully all sorted.
Having 2 problems though, and want to get the basics of my phone sorted before I start messing around and rooting etc...
1. I can't delete emails! I'm using the stock client to access my own email server (bog standard IMAP) but if I delete anything from Inbox, it comes back as soon as the email is sync'd again! Found a few people talking about this issue, but not yet seen a solution!
2. The home button doesn't work! With ICS, no matter what I was doing, pressing Home would do just that, take me back to the home screen. With 4.1.2, it doesn't do ANYTHING!
Anyone got any suggestions for me?!
