I all, a need some help to root my Samsumg Galaxy S2 because a wont to unlock my sim card.
Model:GT-I9100
Firmware version:4.0.4
Status:UNROOT
Resolution:480*800
Android Version:4.0.4
Baseband version:I9100BULP8
Kernel version:GT-I9100-user 4.0.4 IMM76DBULPG release-keys
Thanks in advance.

This has been covered 26,984 times before on here. However....Flash the Odin version of Siyah compatible with the Android version you're running at the moment (search the Siyah threads on here or Gokhanmoral.com). You'll have a rooted phone + CWM.

Thanks a lot my friend.

New SGS2 needs rooting, please

Hi guys & gals,
I've *just* taken delivery of a new Samsung Galaxy SII running
Android 2.3.3
Baseband I9100XXKDJ
Kernel 2.6.35.7-I9100XXKDJ-CL187606 [email protected]#2
Gingerbread XWKE2 build
I've successfully flashed the kernel of my previous SGS1 to root it using CF-Root via Odin.
I believe I'm looking for a KDJ version of the CF-Root, but can't find one.
Any help / pointers would be much appreciated as unrooted, the phone's just no fun! And I can't use my Titanium backup.
Thank you
Dave
No need to find KDJ or specific. Just find your PDA version and flash that kernel.
I hope you know how to see PDA version,

Regards.

You may want to update to a newer rom, look in this thread, then select a correct version of CF root.

[Q] Questions about new Galaxy S2 International on ATT

Hey all,
Just got the Galaxy S2 Internationl GT-I9100 and I'm using it on ATT in the United States (it is NOT the ATT version).
The info:
Android Version 2.3.3
Baseband Version I9100XXKE7
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKF3-CL276555, [email protected] #2
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.XWKF3
So I have a couple questions:
1) Will CF-Root v4.0 for KF3 work on this phone? Is there a later version of CF-Root for KF3?
2) Does it matter that baseband is KE7 and kernel is KF3?
3) Does the S2 brick easily? Soft brick that can be reversed by flashing stock with odin (like on my captivate) or hard brick?
4) My plan is to install CF-Root, then backup /efs, and then flash cognition. After backing up /efs, can I just flash cognition using Odin or do I need to use CWM?
5) I noticed that cognition uses the Ninphetamine kernel...will that be compatible with my phone? Will most custom ROMs be compatible with my phone?
Thanks for the help guys! Now that I have an S2, I can use my captivate to muck around with the android source =D
May not be relevant but
How about trying to update to 2.3.4 stock ROM before going root. Personally I don't feel much need of rooting after switching from galaxy 1 to 2. Fast enough.

I've always been a bigger fan of community developed software than stock ROM. Also, I want titanium backup and few other things even if i just stay on stock rooted

I want to flash kernel and rom with my I9100P.

Hi
I have SG2 GT-I9100P (with NFC). What kernel and rom, can i use?
Orange fr and kernel is BVKI3
Thanks.

Hello! Got the same from Orange.
I have tested Chainfire and Sayiah Kernels, they doesn't modify NFC abilities (so it's ok).
However, our I9100P are yet very poorly supported, due to GS2 NFC being "lost" in the flood of previous "old" nfc.
Support may come from AOSP 2.3.7 (yet, max is 2.3.5)
I haven't tested custom roms yet.
TIP : Backup STOCK ROM using kTool 1.23 or the ZergRush exploit.
>Won't tell you how to since it's too late for me
Have fun!
Hi guys,
i've just received my new Samsung galaxy s2 phone. I'm not sure what tutorial to follow and where to get the correct I9100PBVKI3 file from.
MODEL: GT-I9100P
ANDROID VERSION: 2.3.4
BASEBAND VERSION: I9100PBVKI2
KERNEL: [email protected] #2
BUILD NO: GINGERBREAD.BVKI3
Could anyone help me ASAP pls!
Thank You
PS: This is the new NFC model.
Hi, I also have just got hold of a GT-I9100P model. It's branded with orange, and the orange bloatware and apps are getting me down.
Does someone have the 'official' GT-I9100P ROM/image for the 'unlocked/unbranded' variant of this?
Many thanks in advance
If they do then it will be in the Stock roms post.

[Solved] Flashing Omega Rom

Heyho guys
Im sorry, my questions is really really nooby, but im new to Samsung devices (before i got the S3 i had an X8 and changed the kernal + rom every week^^).
I already updated my S3 via Kies...
Baseband: XXLF5
Buildnumber: XXALF6
But here is my question now:
In the Omega thread there is written "Based on firmware XXBLH3", but I guess i don't have that firmware version...
So do i have to flash that firmware build XXBLH3, or can i simply download Omega v13.1 and flash it via cmw?
greetings REtender
You are safe to flash, that version is what his room is based on.

[Q] any old kernel?

hi to all from a very wet north wales.
we have a problem. just bought a galaxy s2 and wanted to root it so that we can unlock it and then change network provider.
we followed the instructions found elsewhere on this site but the phone does not reboot after using odin3.
could this be because we accidentally tried to load up the wrong kernel? we have tried to locate a copy of the correct one but cannot find one. Should/could a generic kernel work and if so could someone please indicate where to find it
details:
galaxy s 2 gt 19100
original kernal version 3.0.15-19100 XWLET
ANDROID VERSION 4.0.4
odin3 version 1.85
superoneclick vers 2.2
failed kernel was XWKDD
ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY GRATEFULLY RECEIVED

You flashed a gingerbread kernel over ICS! Don't just follow any tutorial you find on net. If you break your phone, they can't help you.
Download Siyah kernel :www.gokhanmoral.com/public/files/siyahkernel/v4/Siyah-s2-v4.1.5.tar
Flash the kernel via Odin.
