One what's download mode got to do with Kies ??? Kies does not use download mode .
Either let Kies update or use Odin not both at once .

Well Kies does reboot the phone to download mode before it updates the firmware but I think this is where it seems to be failing for most people, after getting to download mode it does nada and the update fails.
Just use Odin to update.

Thanks if i update via odin i risk to lost some files and i lost the root?
As per the post .
Flash KE2 full Root flash KE2 kernel only .
Risk about 99% safe and about 99.99% recoverable from a problem anyway on SGS1/2
PS i thought you meant 3 button download before with Kies

I need a old 3-parts firmware, with which i can use the pit file and then update it then with kies.
The reason is that my headphone-socket is a bit damaged and i want to give it for warranty

Why do you want to use a PIT file .
Rule is do not use PIT only for experienced users .
Three part firmware is on samfirmware .
For warranty flash stock firmware from link given if rooted or custom rom reset rom counter with USB jig is the method used .

I think its also fine if you simply flash a stock firmware via recovery and then flash a stock kernel through odin. no need for anything else afaik

He can use mobile odin as long as he is rooted.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
You don't need a "3 part" FW, there is no need for all "parts" being seperate.
The ROMs in Intratech's thread contain everything needed, you can say "all 3 parts are packed into the one file".
Just flash a matching one of those.
hello guys i need help my phone shows this mesage when turned on,,

every link on that guide is a dead link man please anyone can link me to a guide on how to do a full wipe and install????
Right. Nobody is going to hold your hand through this. You want your phone fixed, you're going to have to fix it.
The guide in that thread is valid. If you want stock roms, go to Samfirmware, AndroidFirmwares.net or get the PC version of Checkfus & download one.
Get a stock rom, flash it in Odin as per that guide. Done.
You have some reading/searching to do.

Yeah, you got your answers there. No one can tell you the exact rom you should use, because it is not allowed. Search the original android development section and read the comments. There are plenty of good stock based roms. As for the official sammobile stock roms, you can flash them only with odin, like it or not
