Just installed the Google Now widget. It's empty and doesn't show even the weather. Do you have the same problem?
Mine didn't show anything until I opened Google Now. Now it is showing just the weather.
Interesting it works nicely on my Nexus 7. On my Hox+ I see just the traffic nothing else.

On my DNA, the widget only shows the weather card, but I have 3 more cards when I open Google Now itself....
Mine is blank too, just shows the search bar
The Google Now widget shouldn't show the search bar. You might have just put on the Google Search widget instead of the Google Now widget.
Check that your weather card is set to always show in your Google Now settings, so you'll have at least that on your widget if you usually don't have any other cards.
If it says there is nothing to display, try tapping the widget, and it will take you to Google Now. If you immediately exit, that should be sufficient to refresh the widget and make things appear.
Thus far, I've seen weather, sports scores, and calendar events show up.
I have the same problem. It was working for a couple hours when I first installed the JellyBean update, but now the widget is empty always. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling google search, still nothing.
I've noticed that it will occasionally be blank, but opening up Google Now itself always seems to resolve the issue almost immediately. How long does it stay empty?

Sorry, another noobie question and I have tried searching but "weather update" didn't come up with meaningful threads. The weather on my Hero doesn't seem to update automatically unless I open the app itself ie the full screen widget and the one on the clock won't update. If I go into the app it starts to update. Is this normal, a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
it's a known issue; try adding your home town as a known location in the app, and then it should appear, and update, on the widget.
For some reason my weather widget when i'm at home always says 14 or current location, not the city name anymore. it has the correct name when i travel if i toggle gps and update the weather but never at home. is the anyway way to reset it clear the saved locations? I already tried the HTC weather widget in setting but all cache clearing options and the likes were grayed out. thanks for any help.
Quite common problem for users .... HTC and Verizon deny the problem exists though. I don't know of a definitive fix.
I figured out what it is, for me atleast. I use advanced task killer as im sure many eris users do (i know they say you dont need it but my eris can get sluggish with lots of apps running). I tried just not closing weather and it still gave me the issue, then on a whim I tried not closing the clock app as well. Voila! problem solved. It updates when I change position and the only apps I have running when idling are clock, weather, and atk.
That should solve it, just don't close out clock and weather and it should work.

For right now I wouldn't go force killing ANYTHING that was preinstalled on the phone when you got it. HTC Sense works in odd ways. As for me I only force kill apps that I put on the phone myself and I don't seem to have as many problems now (lockscreen lockups, jittery touch screen, touch screen not working).
I love the gmail widget however.... occasionally the widget stops displaying my emails. All I get is an option to view more conversations. At times locking the device and going back in re populates the widget. Other times I actually have to remove and re-add the widget. Is anyone else experiencing this and is there a permanent fix?
Yes, I got the same problem too. When I wait then it reverses alone and shows me mails. Just be patient.
i have same problem but with one clock widget. When i lock desktop after some time widget stop to work properly.
I was excited to upgrade to 4.3 to get the lock screen widget capability, but when I installed Dashclock, it does not seem to work like it should. When I tap on items on the Dashclock widget nothing happens. For example, according to the Dashclock documentation, clicking on the Gmail widget should load up Gmail. It doesn't. Tapping on the settings icon does nothing. Pretty much nothing works.
I think this is most likely an HTC issue with their lock screen app. Does anyone know if there is some kind of HTC API I can use to fix this (Dashclock is open source and I can make changes to try it).
thanks!

With 4.2.2+ (including 4.3) HTC removed the google lock screen which can be used with dash clock and added their own which you can only add 1 widget.
Yes and that widget does not work properly. Like I said, tapping on the Settings icon for example does nothing.
If you press on any dash clock widget shortcuts it will do nothing you have to press and then unlock and you will be on the shortcut that you tap on.
If you tapped on weather for example when you unlock you will not unlock to home instead you will unlock to the weather shortcut

Aha, that works. Seems kind of strange having to take the extra step but at least I know it works now. Thanks!
I installed the Google Clock app because it has the next alarm notification, so I can easily disable it in case I want to, contrary to the stock clock app.
The problem is that on some days none of the several alarms I have ring. Then, sometime later in the day, a bunch of notifications show up listing them as "missing alarms". This doesn't happen with stock app. I think Emui kills the Google Clock's service.
Anyone know a fix for this?
First thing to try is to manage the Clock app separately in battery settings. Ie.
Settings, Battery, App Launch, Clock, then select all the options (run in background etc)
If its already managed manually, then uninstall and reinstall Clock app from play store (this is what I had to do as it was happening to me, and its been working fine since)
