[SCRIPT] Google Music to SD Card v1.0 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Here is a script I made(see bottom for sources) today for using my SD card as Google Music storage. I'm currently on "Beans" but I'm pretty certain this will work with any TW based ROMs. If not just leave a comment or pm me and I'll fix another script for the ROM of choice. CM and AOSP ROMs should not work at the moment, but tonight I will update a script for AOSP.
Note:
I have tried directory bind or whatever the tool was called but it will not work due to Google Music saving the music in the data/data area. But nonetheless, this is an option for those that use Google Music and I'll be updating this script to bypass all the steps below soon and to do other things as well. Enjoy
Disclaimer:
As always, this script requires root and it will modify your data/data partition, and when doing anything that requires "root" privileges, there is a chance of doing harm to your device. Therefore, I will not be held responsible for anything that may happen to your device. Follow the steps provided and do not alter any files and all should go as described.
Prerequisite:
Google Play Music
Script Manager
GMusic Script v1.0
Installation:
**This script will remove all music that Google Music has previously downloaded in the data/data directory. Depending on your library size will determine how long the delete process is(approx 1-5 minutes). After the first time running, you will no longer have to wait upon boot and all will go as intended.
1. Download the script and save to your SD Card. It doesn't matter where but I suggest the SD Card and do NOT alter/delete/move this file once you have everything set up.
2. Open script manager and navigate to the script. Open as Script/Executable and make sure you tick root and boot, then save.
3. Reboot device.
4. Once booted up, script manager will ask for root privs. There will be a box to "ask again" within the SU PopUp. Un-tick this box so you won't see it anymore. Then grant root privs.(I got two pop ups so do the same for both)
5. Go to choose on device music and check available space. You should see the increase in size.
6. Redownload your music and enjoy.
**Your music will now be saved in "Music/Google" on your SD Card.**

Better give credit where credit is due. I've seen this in another thread and you weren't the poster.
Did you invent the script? You said "various sources" so I'm assuming you used other's work. All I'm saying is you better credit and link to them in the OP -- or else you'll feel the heat.

lol ok..
Well let's see, the script was wrote by me.. yes, I looked at 2 or 3 threads on my phone last night and today, I wrote the script based on those viewings.. idk if you have tried to link like 3 different links together on tapatalk but I didnt have the time.. I was at work and I just got home from a 24 hour shift. I stated that I was gonna do something else to the thing this evening(bout to start) and I was gonna post the links when I got home. lol chill for a sec and I know about credit man
Also, threads that I read on this issue are broken, as in.. they do not work anymore.

If you know about credit, you wouldn't have posted until it was linked. I only called you out because I remember you doing a similar thing in an X2 thread years ago. Battery percentage? Ring a bell? I can find the thread if you'd like.

Everyone who creates something on XDA is always in a rush to get it to the community
It is only natural to want to share and get it out there for all to enjoy
However if you used some of the work even from the broken threads
you should post links to them as well
Thank you for your contribution
Try to get the rest of those credits in there
Thank you for your cooperation

Avatar.apk Movie App for Froyo that works with DRM'd Copy

This Avatar.apk is for those who have upgraded to Froyo with an unofficial build that doesn't include a working Avatar app, but desire a working Avatar.apk that launches the DRM protected copy of the movie included with the phone.
Some caveats/disclaimers: I don't own a Vibrant; I have an i9000 Galaxy S and a Nexus One. I don't plan on providing much support for this, but it shouldn't need it. All the usual "I am not responsible for damage to your phone" disclaimers apply; if you don't know how to use adb and don't have root, go find out how in the appropriate FAQs.
Back story: My friend owns a Vibrant and hated it (slow/laggy). I thought upgrading it to a Froyo build would make him happy, so I did with Team Whiskey's Onyx version (very slick, better than the best ROM I have on i9000 IMHO). He was disappointed that the Avatar shortcut/app on the desktop disappeared, so I pulled the apk from a 2.1 build and pushed it to the phone, but it didn't work.
A little investigation showed that the apk file has an xml resource that is hard-coded to look for the encrypted/drm copy of the movie in the path "/sdcard/sd/movie/AVATAR.dcf", but the Froyo builds mount the external card as "/sdcard/external_sd/" so the app doesn't work.
All I did here was edit the xml file to the correct path, repacked the apk, signed it, pushed it to the phone with adb to /system/app. The apk was then available to add as a desktop shortcut again, and it opens the movie as expected.
The file won't install like a regular apk (at least it wouldn't for me), it must be pushed to /system/app to work - use this command:
adb push <your path>/Avatar.apk /system/app
You could also probably download the apk and copy it over to /system/app with Root Explorer or any other file manager that lets you write to /system/app.
I have only tested this with Team Whiskey's Onyx build and by pushing via adb. I can't test any other ROM since I don't own a Vibrant.
I know a lot of people consider the Avatar.apk to be bloatware and ask how to remove it, but I see a lot of people asking for it back because it's convenient and a great show-off feature on the phone for non-Galaxy S owners.
Additional disclaimers: I did quite a bit of searching here on XDA for an apk that took this approach and didn't find one. If it's already out there, I apologize for this post and can link to it. All I found was an apk that requires you to have a non-encrypted mp4 copy of the movie. I also found a lot of bad information about you could use the original 2.1 version if you just de-odexed it and other stuff like that. Again, this will ONLY work on a 2.2 Froyo ROM because of the change in mounting path of the external sdcard.
credit/thanks to Brut.all for his apktool and to jessetbenton for his Mac-friendly android auto signing applet.
Edit: I only modded the English language part of the apk, it may not work properly if you're using a different language.
Here's the apk, enjoy:
Wow, that first post is a lot of words for such a simple posted apk! LOL. I just wanted to make sure to cover all the bases for any criticisms I might be getting.
Thanks dude, I kept trying to install the old avatar.apk, and when I tried opening avatar, it kept giving me "file not found"
Oh, btw works on Eugene's Macnut R12
You could also just make a folder named "sd" on the sd card, and move the Movie folder there. Works just fine for me.

Yes, but then you lose that 1gb of space on your internal sdcard.
I'd have gone for a symlink approach instead, but the internal card is plain old FAT32 and doesn't support them.
Or just use the stock froyo Avatar.apk? Lol. Worked for me...

Ah, that's good. Where'd you get it? I thought there wasn't a Vibrant specific Froyo yet - all I see on samfirmware.com are 2.1 builds. Like I said, I'm not a Vibrant owner, so don't really keep up with its developments.
Thanks for posting that.

Yeah, to each his own.
My internal 16gb on the i9000 is almost full (nandroid backups, media, etc), and I have an external 16gb that's more than half full. I prefer to keep large media files on the external, obviously YMMV.
Glad you had a solution that works for you.
Nice thanks

Thanks for the response.
I wish someone had answered any one of the dozens of posts I read where people were complaining or asking about this with that info. Would have saved me the trouble here.
Actually, it worked out well for me anyways. I have a couple of apps with the same problem where I really want to force them to use the external card instead of the internal. Now I've learned an approach I can use to "fix" or mod those apps. I wish app developers would let you specify a preferred working directory - hard coded paths aren't usually a good idea in my opinion.
At any rate, based on the number of views of the thread, and over 140 downloads between my version and yours, seems like a lot of people didn't know about this, and we've given them a working solution. That's a good thing in my opinion.
can u make this work from terminal?
Please help me to get Avatar working !
Iam on Darky's 10.2 ROM(GB 2.3.4), bullet kernel & KB5 modem.
and the movie is at the same folder structure since, my phone came stock.
I tried:
1.) I cleared drm content and drm protected content & restarted my phone two times- then downloaded the app from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=774078 but it won't install.
2.) I used the Android customisation suite from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=894794 and created a zip with just the avatar.apk , cleaned dalvik cache, and the installed the zip from CWM, still the application just clicked, but no response/error message whatsoever.
3.) I downloaded a terminal emulator & tried to push the apk from this thread and I get adb:not found.
Please guide me, what needs to be done, as I haven't seen the movie [email protected]!
Great work I know this has been a huge issue for many many people ...I no longer have avatar on my phone but I sure missed the launcher at one time back when I first flashed my phone

Buddy, I haven't been able to get it working, thru any of these methods!
I guess, I might have been doing something wrong in ADB Push. But I even tried with a Root File Explorer and replacing the Default Application that i had flashed using zip generated by Android Customization Tool(ACS) , with one provided in the two links(one of them, gives application not installed, probably the bigger in size one, and so installed the other one, thereby replacing the default that I talked above). but for no good.
Avatar, still doesn't work. Please help, guys!!

[MOD] Hulu/WIN Flash Hack

Hey guys. So I made this hack for my old epic, then my GSII, now I'm posting it here since I know I DEFINITELY wanted unrestricted hulu access on such a nice tablet, without the extra price/"not available for devices" BS of Hulu+. This should also work for any other sites that restrict mobile devices. This hack simply changes 3 characters in the flash library file from AND to WIN, and copies my modded file over the stock/updated adobe file upon each boot.
For those who wish to learn more the original post can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=114215
New install instructions
Flash via CWM OR follow the instructions above, but you must locate the files within the zip sub folders. They are in the folders they should be in if you were to unzip to the device root. You may also copy and paste with root explorer if you prefer that to ADB (I do). Just make sure you get the file permissions right (they should match other files in the same folder).
NOTE: If you have adfree or another adblock, you'll see a message to disable it, you don't need to disable it (they just want you to watch their commercials), just wait the 30 seconds or whatever it is and that black message counts as your commercial, and your show will play
Once we get a few custom kernels out there with init.d support we won't need script manager (init.d support just means it will run all scripts in the folder /system/etc/init.d) making the process a bit cleaner but for now this works. I also have a cwm flashable version but we'll have to wait a bit longer for that. For now let's just be happy Jcase got us root Enjoy!
EDIT: Updated for ICS AND JELLYBEAN and flash version 11.1.115.12 (8/9/2012) (latest..for now) LATEST VERSION IS BUILT TO BE EASIER/MORE RELIABLE FOR SOME USERS
TESTED: Confirmed on Galaxy SII on CMX. Turns out Jelly Bean (and maybe ICS) have changed the order on boot so that init.d runs BEFORE flash overwrites our hack on each boot. In other words, the flash APK is re-unpacked in its non-hacked form by adobeflashplayer on each boot somewhere after the boot animation and probably just before the homescreen is displayed. The init.d scripts we run are unfortunately run at the VERY beginning, while the OEM logo is still displayed (BEFORE the boot animation). Because of this, script manager is currently absolutely required until I can find another "entry point" to run these scripts
It is this unfortuante order that requires using script manager to run the script "on boot" later in the process.
Be sure BUSYBOX is installed or GTFO
It IS typically included in most custom roms, but still, MAKE SURE.
HOWTO Video (without using the adb method above though it still works just fine) thanks to jjdevega if you need it here http://youtu.be/rXTdIyMP_Xs
OLD install instructions below for those without CWM:
So here goes.
1. Update flash via the market to the latest version
2. Download & unzip the 2 files linked below to be pushed to /data/flash
3. adb shell mkdir /data/flash
4. adb push S98fixflash /data/flash
5. adb push libflashplayer.so /data/flash
5.5 (almost forgot) Install Busybox from the market, let it run, grant su, and have it install the latest busybox for you
6. Install Script Manager from the market
7. Open Script Manager and be sure to select to give it root access
8. Browse to /data/flash in Script Manager, select S98fixflash and select root and boot options (thus making it run on each boot, with root permissions)
9. Reboot (Press + hold power, power off)
10. Open Browser, open settings, advanced, user agent string, desktop
Thanks OP for the mod!!!
Now that we have root can anyone try vgeezy's hacked apk and see if it works? this method should allow hulu.com and is much more noob friendly.

For those saying they got this to work, how were they able to get a root adb shell on their comp to make this work? Although rooted with vipermods tool, I cannot get a root adb shell through windows, and my understanding is that it takes a modified boot-img for that to happen.
Is there a way to make this mod work from a terminal on the tablet? Thanks!
Edit: Tried opening the prime's internal storage up through windows, going to android/data and creating a 'flash' folder and moving the two files into it. Then going through script manager and setting the script to run as root at boot.
Didnt work.
However using ES to move the files to system/data/flash and setting to run at boot from there seems to have worked.
Any help?
---------- Post added at 09:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:43 PM ----------
Also, is it just me or does ScriptManager constantly force close for anyone else?

Connectbot can replace adb. Also, you don't need to use adb at all, you can use root explorer to place the files in the correct locations, it's just easier to write a step-by-step that way. Also, if you rooted, you could try running from that same folder as you will have the adb tool within the "one click root" folder you most likely used (or normal platform tools if you used jcase's step-by-step).
Script Manager doesn't have issues for me, it's very popular software and well made. Maybe try uninstalling/reinstalling? If not, clear cache/data for script manager and try again? Not sure...
EDIT: If you don't HAVE root, and try to OBTAIN root while running script manager, it will force close I believe. Make SURE you have root, use adfree or titanium backup to confirm maybe...
2nd Edit: Also, don't use usb transfer, that just puts it in the 'internal sd' folder. Use root explorer and back all the way out to the root directory first.
I tried this and couldn't seem to get it to work. However, for anyone looking for a quick way to watch hulu in a browser, download "flash video browser" from the market. It is $0.99 I believe and no additional tinkering is needed.

For those those that don't have root and/or don't wish to mess with root/existing Flash installation an alternative is to buy/use Flash Video Browser. Works great on the Prime and was recently updated with ICS compatibility. Works great with Hulu.
Those who did this, did it affect your ability to upgrade to ICS? I'd like to try, but don't want to miss out on future OTAs.

Any clue why the User Agent String option might be missing from Settings>Advanced?
It's odd, because when I first got the TP I hunted for it, but couldn't find it--but then stumbled across someone mentioning it online, and lo-and-behold it had appeared for some reason.
Now that I'm trying to use this hack, it's missing again. Any ideas?
I usually just press menu -> Request desktop site.
Hulu works great with this mod in desktop mode. That add message threw me off, thanks for the warning, video started 30sec later.
thanks, worked perfectly with root explorer

[GUIDE] V6 Supercharger Cm9 (Updated 07/18/2012)

Okay, this is my first write up so please be nice :fingers-crossed:
I have noticed a lot of questions about using zeppelinrox V6 Supercharger in the cm9 thread. I am in no way, shape, or form an expert. Also anything you do with your phone is your responsibility. So read and research everything first, and as always back-up.
I have used my phones browser to get everything that is needed, and upload the services.jar file to modify later.
Credit for all scripts and roms or whatever else is linked goes to those that made them. This is just a how-to. Thanks.
First you will need to go HERE and download SuperCharger_Starter_Kit_RC12.zip
Use a file browser that can unzip the starter kit to the root of your sdcard. I use Root Browser.
Also Download V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-Update9_RC10.sh.pdf
You should take the time to read the post, as it has instructions.
Second Navigate HERE and scroll down to post #2. Look for WebApp Info - Mod your services.jar instantly with the ICS OOM Priority Charger!
There should be a link to http://android.mimic.ca. Follow the Instructions to upload your services.jar file to be modified, and then download the modified file. It tells you where this file should be. You will use this modified services.jar file later so it should be on your sdcard.
or... When you run the script later you will have a choice. Auto or Manual. V6 supercharger can automatically upload-mod-download-install the diehard version of services.jar for you. The choice is up to you.
UPDATE religi0n has already modified services.jar for everyone. GO HERE to read the thread and grab the modified services.jar file of your choice. Credit to religi0n for this. Thank You.
Third Visit the Play Store and download Script Manager. Now find script manager in your apps and run it. Make sure to press Browse as root, then Ok. ALLOW SuperUser and press Ok.
You should see your sdcard files listed. If you unzipped the starter kit to your sdcard there will be a folder named SuperCharger_Starter_Kit.
Inside this folder will be StartMeUp.sh Press this and a screen will pop up. Make sure to press the skull/crossbones icon with Su underneath it. It should turn Green. Now press Run at top left.
You will be asked to allow superuser again. Allow!
The starter kit will run and tell you what to do. This will prepare your DX2 for V6 Supercharger. After this is done you can exit out.
Fourth In Script Manager, navigate to the V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-Update9_RC10.sh.pdf. Again make sure you allow Superuser root. Green Skull/Crossbones and Run.
Again V6 Supercharger will run and tell you/ask you what options to do.
Once you get to the ICS Service Center You can manually install the modified services.jar file. V6 should find it on your sdcard.
That should be about it. I'm not going to go through every step since V6 tells you as it runs.
V6 will ask to wipe dalvik and reboot. If it hangs at boot pull battery and restart.
Run the .pdf script again to check and change options.
There is an option to unsupercharge as well as exit.
Hopefully this will help some.
Thanks!
Nice post. This should help a lot of people.
Instructions have already been posted a long time ago, but this should help the noobs.

You will have the option to manually install the modified services.jar file towards the end of the supercharger script. It should find it on your sdcard.

I did the modded services.jar last night and haven't had any lockups yet in cm9a5, when I first flashed I froze up twice within an hour.

So I went ahead and installed this again. So far I have had two random reboots. Everything does seem faster though so I will leave it supercharged for now.
I installed v6 also. Everything is good so far. I rebooted 2/3 times until it didn't stick on the M. I also had to start the cm7 bsr a couple of times before that worked.

Also, you may want to mention that if you run the script first, it will automatically load ICS Service Centre and, in Automatic Transmission Mode, it will seemlessly install a die-hard services.jar in seconds (uploads services.jar and downloads a new one without leaving the script)
Ok to try and make sure I have this right.
I can do the SC Auto script (which does the DH be fault), then turn around and do the ICS Service Center manually and let it use the services.jar I choose to get from HERE?
Thanks,

The best I understand it, Yes you could, or download one of religi0n HTK version, Bulletproof version and use it the first time through.
I haven't tested them though.

Well that is the part that is causing the issues, no? Also if I don't run the rest of the SC features then I don't get the full benifits from the script, no? So I would have to either do it all manually (which I would have to read through all the different features to be able to do) or run it in auto and then go back and do the ICS part manually?
Sorry don't mean to be a pain in understanding all this, but I want to know that what I am attempting to do and how I understand it is correct, so please bear with me,
Thanks!

You are not being a pain at all. Please understand that the intent of this guide is to help people set up and run the SuperCharger Script. As far as which settings work best or not, that will be up to each person to decide. When you run the script it will ask you. "Do you want to do this...(whatever option it may be) y for yes, n for no, etc...
You can go to zeppelinrox threads to read in great detail how and what his scripts do.
You can always run the script and get to the menu 1-33 to get to the ics services.jar option. (I believe it is option 25) and try the different .jar files from religi0n.
I hope I answered some of your questions. Bear with me.
Great walk through. It has been very helpful. I went through the automated process of the script, accepted all the suggestions the script offered and updated the services.jar I did NOT run any of the choices (1-33). My question is, do I have to rerun the script after each reboot, or is this a persistent mod? Thanks!

You should be good to go. If you want to check, then rerun the supercharger script and see what you get.
It will check for previous settings and show you the supercharger status.
Option 33 will exit.
Droid X2 CM9 Alpha 5
i thought the service.jar got changed while running the script (so I recall, probably wrongly)
First time using supercharger 2 days ago, that thread is just awful because of all the clutter and overcomplication. it's sad that it's that cluttered despite having multiple threads to clarify and hiding content. But hey! it is one very effective script, noticeable difference, he's a good man
as for a guide:
1) download 'scriptapp' from market
2) download newest supercharge script from 'link to his storage thing'
3) put supercharge script on phone
4) make sure skull and bones is green
5) run and follow instructions
make life simple with few words and steps hehe
Well it took me all day to figure out this damn thing lol. "make sure to go into console to run on boot "
But thanks really you collection of instructions were the best I've read. Besides not having the links on your post for d/l this was top notch.
Fyi: Your gonna have to reinstall cm7 bsr to get it to work again.

[SUPPORT THREAD] JT Inverted Productions JB4.2 Aroma + Quickflash

This is the support thread for JT Inverted Productions JB 4.2 Gapps+ mod. If you have questions, ask them here. Do not ask for help in the other thread.
Main thread for downloads:
[APPS]JT Inverted Productions JB 4.2 Gapps+ Aroma & Quickflash
How to flash:
1. Backup your current ROM, if needed
2. Perform a full wipe - format /system, /data, /cache, and /dalvik-cache
3. Flash your ROM
4. Flash the gapps package you want
5. Reboot
6. If you need to restore any data, DO NOT restore data to any inverted apps
How to post a question:
1. Did you perform a full wipe before having this problem?
- Yes. There is no other correct answer to this question. If you answered no, correct that first by backing up your device, then doing a full wipe. This means that you should wipe /system, /data, /cache, and dalvick-cache before you even think about continuing with your report. Do not restore data. If you don't fully wipe, you will not receive help. Doing a full wipe allows you to check to see if the problem is there without any of your modifications.
2. Which file are you having trouble with?
- Please make sure to type or copy/paste out the entire file name.
3. Which device are you using?
- HTC One X/Samsung Galaxy S3/Motorola RAZR
4. Which ROM are you using, and which UI type is it?
- Post a link to the ROM you're using and also mention the type of UI (AOSP/CM10/AOKP). List your kernel as well, if you don't use the ROM's built in kernel.
5. Which recovery version are you using?
- CWM/TWRP/4EXT
6. State your problem with as much detail as possible.
- We aren't standing over your shoulder watching you mess up your phone. Describe in great and excruciating detail what you did to arrive at your problem.
1. I'm going to post my question without doing a search.
Fine, but you'll just get made fun of, or infracted by one of the mods who use this mod. Searching is the first rule of XDA.http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=263
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.
2. Do I really have to do a full wipe?
No one is going to stand over your shoulder and make sure you do, but don't expect help if you don't.
3. Why doesn't the zip file flash properly/Why is the zip file password protected?
Too many people don't bother reading the directions, so the zips are now password protected. The password is located in the OP (post #1) of the main thread. You have to read to find it. It only changes on occasion, so keep using the same password until it stops working, then look for the new one. Make sure to read for the changes when you grab the new password. The flashable zip is always hidden inside the password protected zip.
For more information on the password system, please read this helpful post by KidCarter93.
4. My recovery freezes, gives me some other weird error, or the gapps package just didn't flash properly and force closes a lot.
You probably don't have enough /system space. You need around 160MB of free /system space for the full package.
5. Gmail (or some other app) is not inverted after flashing this.
You forgot about FAQ #3. Always do a full wipe. Make sure you don't have duplicate apps in /data/app/ and /system/app/. All AOSP-based ROMs should NOT include Google Apps. Some of them might, so you may need to do some manual house cleaning to get this to work. If your chef includes Google Apps in a CM, AOKP, or AOSP ROM, remind them that Google does not allow this.
6. People app is not inverted/Phone.apk is missing.
Either restore your backup, or reflash aroma and deselect the people app from the menu. Do not use the inverted people app, as this tells us that it is not working on your device. There is no fix, so don't ask.
7. MMS.apk is not inverted.
Theme it yourself. Open MMS app, then go to Settings > theme and set it however you like. The included themes from TUN_D will automatically invert them, however.
8. When using Quick Reply pop up, the message displayed is not always the actual message that I just got. Sometimes it is an older message.
That's an issue with the MMS.apk provided by the CM team. It happens when you do not reply to a message from within the quickreply pop up, but instead bypass it to reply within the app. To get around that, you can disable the pop up, but leave the quickreply option and simply tap the "Quick Reply option from the notification bar. This will trigger the pop up and allow you to reply each time to the correct message.
9. I have problems with ghost inputs, or the touch screen is buggy, in aroma.
Follow the instructions in this post by Wechy77.
10. I don't want this boot animation anymore, or it was installed by mistake.
Delete /data/local/bootanimation.zip if it's there, or, if it's not there, extract your original boot animation from your ROM's zip file at /system/media/bootanimation.zip and move it to the same location in your ROM.
11. Instagram has a problem connecting to Facebook.
Before flashing the inverted Instagram, download the latest Instagram from the market, and log in to give it permission to access your Facebook profile. After that, flash the inverted Instagram, and it will work like normal. An updated version of Instagram is being worked on.
12. I read this whole FAQ and my issue isn't addressed.
Make a post with the following information, and state your problem clearly and in excruciating detail.
1. Did you perform a full wipe before having this problem?
- Yes. There is no other correct answer to this question. If you answered no, correct that first by backing up your device, then doing a full wipe. This means that you should wipe /system, /data, /cache, and dalvick-cachebefore you even think about continuing with your report. If you don't fully wipe, you will not receive help.

Perhaps mine will be the first dumb question...
Here goes nothing - hope this isn't too dumb.
I see that the new download is jusTunbean_aroma.v4.0b.zip and what I downloaded yesterday was jusTunbean_aroma.v4.0.zip. I checked the changelog and didn't see an update. What's the difference between the 11/10 and the 11/11 version?
Thanks in advance. Let me know if this is a dumb question - don't want to flash for nothing, but also don't want to be one of those annoying noobs.

As far as I know, gallery and some other 4.2 stuff was removed due to errors. Also, CM file manager was changed. If 4.0 is working without any problems for you, then don't worry about updating to 4.0b. If you have issues, then update.
Aroma 4.0/Gapps 4.2a/b/c working with CM10 4.1.2 (i9000) , or not?
The new (4.2) cam/gallery and keyboard are working fine ... (other sources)
second the password was a goal on the wrong side my opinion, because the spamming goes on ...
thx for advanced

If someone has trouble with ghost inputs, and doesn't know, what to do, here is my little guidance:
There is a little work with it before you can make it work with touchscreen:
1. download "JusTunBean Aroma 4.x..."
2. download "update-binary" from here
3. copy "aroma-config" from JusTunBean.zip (It is in META-INF/com/google/android folder) Edit with notepad++ add calibrate("0.9718","4","1.0176","-9"); to first line. (This calibrate values are for Xperia ray)
If you use another phone and has trouble with ghost inputs then serach a rom in your phone thread with aroma install and find calibrate values.
It should look like this:
Code:
calibrate("0.9718","4","1.0176","-9");
### LICENSE:
#
(if you are on other phone, search for your calibrate numbers)
4. copy modded "aroma-config" and downloaded "update-binary" into the zip (META-INF/com/google/android folder) and overwrite old ones.
5. copy zip to sd card and go into cwm.
6. choose install zip from sd card, and it works with touchscreen.
Thats it.
p.s.: You must do it with every new release of course.

Try to use Chrome -- it works.
This is a question about the theming:
I suppose this is to TUN, I don't use any of the custom themes, and I am on a Note using CM10:
when I am in Instagram, the words for "more comments" I assume is black on the black theme. I mean that when a person has more than 5-6 comments and you want to click it to see more.
Then the other thing I saw is in Facebook, when writing a message, I couldn't see what words were being typed, was just black on black.
Does anyone else see this?

[HOW-TO] Update Sense 5 Port Using OASVN

I've seen numerous people asking numerous times in the same thread on how to use OASVN to update to the latest release. So I figured I would go ahead and make my first contribution to help everyone out.
1. Download OASVN 'AND' 7Zipper from the Play Store
2. Open OASVN
3. Click "Add Repository"
4. Under "Name" feel free to type whatever you want your repository to be called
5. Under "Repository URL" enter: http://evo-4g-lte-sense5-port.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
6. Under "Local Folder" you will see something like "/storage/sdcard0/OASVNlite/"Leaving that input will make your internal storage the primary download location for the trunk/checkout/ROM files (whatever you would like to consider those files to be called). Keep in mind: The files can get pretty heavy (big in size...) and take up a lot of space. Feel free to change that location if you want.
7. Click "Save"
8. Click your repository
9. Click "Checkout" and let the app do what it does (downloads the files you need)NOTE: IT IS BEST TO BE ON WiFi OR A STABLE 4G CONNECTION!
You will see "Operation in progress, please wait..." and "Performing Checkout!!!"
This can take a very long time depending on your connection speed.
10. Notice that your "Revision" changed from "0" to what should be the latest release/revision from googlecode and is ready to zipped up.
11. Get to the menu on the top right and click "Export Local Copy"
12. Decide where you would like to export the copy that you'd like to zip up and flash.Do NOT use your "Local Folder" unless you would like a migraine. You can use that folder ONLY if you export the copy to a different folder in that location. For example: "/storage/sdcard0/OASCNlite/r98" or whatever folder name you desire.
I use my external Class 10, 32gb SD Card by using "/sdcard2/*desired-name*" and have it saved there.
Also, since my OCD gets the best of me at times, I create a new folder for each export and save it as the revision number. I'm pretty sure you can use the same export folder over and over but I've never done so. I like to be super neat and really messy (don't ask please... thanks).
NOTE: Using your internal SD Card may save you a bit of time.
13. A "success" message should prompt briefly after the export has completed and your files will be where you directed them.
14. Open up 7Zipper and tap the screen.
15. Click "System Folder" and head to the location of your exported copy. For example: "/storage/sdcard0/OASVNlite/r98/"
16. Press the green check-mark button near the top of 7ZipperAND select ONLY THESE FILES/FOLDERS!
1. data
2. kernel
3. META-INF
4. system
5. boot.imgTHEN click the button underneath the red "X" to the right of where the green check-mark was (it looks like an image of a pull-down menu which is what it actually does... pulls down a menu).
17. Click "Create Zip"
18. Enter whatever name you'd like to call your .zip file that you will be flashing/installing.
19. Select your "Compress Level" that says "Default" by default (imagine that...)NOTE: IT IS BEST TO USE THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE COMPRESSION LEVEL! WHY!? I HAVE NO IDEA! THAT'S JUST WHAT I WAS TOLD SO THAT IS WHAT I DO! Lol. Using your Internal SD Card may save you a bit of time but if you didn't export your local copy to your internal SD Card then your S.O.L. since it'll save the .zip in the same folder that you selected your exported copy files/folders.
LET 7ZIPPER DO WHAT IT DOES! I haven't had any problems letting it run in the background while doing other things but of course you will notice a slight decrease in performance.
20. Reboot into your Recovery and flash the .zip that you just created.
SUCCESS! Hopefully.
I've seen a script you can use that was made by one of the members of the Alliance Dev Team working on the s5port. I'm not 100% who everyone was that incorporated that so if you want credit please send me a PM and I'll edit this post with proper credentials. I believe it was il duce though.
MAKE SURE YOU'RE ON A GOOD CONNECTION! WiFi preferred.
3G will work but it will take forever. Forever isn't an exaggeration either.
LTE will work but you risk losing connection.
Open up Terminal app
Type su
Type s5port
let Terminal do its thing
NOTE: This process will take some time no matter what you do. Just let it do its thing. It downloads the files it needs and then zips them up for you to flash. This is a hassle-free method, if you will. I believe that's about it.
Good looking out

Just tried this over my home wifi, says I have rev109. When I went in to my system folder through 7Zipper I didn't see a data folder or the boot.img - is that normal?
EDIT: I went ahead and zipped up what I had just to see what would happen, and I definitely must have done something wrong because the finished zip is only 105mb.

Hey, this happened to me too. It is probably because your download failed or you ran out of space on your internal SD card. I went into Settings and then Storage and clicked on "Misc" under Internal storage and deleted the OASVN files, redownloaded, and it worked. Give that a shot!
I also followed all instructions and it was also missing the boot.img. I just downloaded the file directly and zipped it all up and all was fine.

Thanks for your help. I tried again from scratch and basically got the same thing - no data and no boot.img. I have enough room on internal storage and have lots on my SD card, so I know space isn't the issue.
Maybe this is my phone's way of telling me I should just wait till it's released as a flashable zip, haha.
i'm getting the same thing, only a 108ish mb zip.. tried a couple times..
If you're not getting all of the files that means your download wasn't 100% successful. Happens a lot. Just need to Update or do another checkout.

Run the cleanup option on OASVN and try it all over again. Just be sure to have it plugged in and connected with a good connection... It takes a while. I got it to work for me.

I get full folders on the inital sync (following all the instructions/advice here) and then export the local copy and wait til it stops on its own (it's plugged in and wifi'd) and i only get 3 folders.. weird, tried probably 6ish times so far.. i'll mess with it again this weekend. otherwise my phone may just not like it for some reason, i'll report back

Best to save a lot of time by making sure all of the files have downloaded before performing the export of the local copy. I haven't used OASVN in quite some time since I just got my replacement and haven't done any S-OFF yet so I can't test to see if there's just an issue with the program or anything... Worked fine every time I used it last month though.

EDIT: I just did my method for the OASVN update and everything worked perfect so I'm not sure what the problem is.
