My favorite sense rom has to be EclipticRez. It's sense 4.0. The dev and kernal dev are always responsive to any questions and they're always cookin' up something new!

Eh, almost everyone caught the AOSP bug. I personally don't care for it and always came back to Sense. I'm on Ineff Deus. It hasn't been updated continuously because it was rock-solid outta the gate.

viper rom is rumored to be updated soon,
Most of the sense dev's move to themikmik.com
might want to check with them over there.
I'm using Vexxum by who MIKE D right now. It's quite nice because of how stock it is as a whole. It feels almost as if this would be the stock Sense 4 ROM that came on the phone if the Rezound came with native Sense 4. Of course, there's a few minor bugs (like any Sense 4 ROM), and for whatever reason, I can't get One Browser to work on it.
I liked stang's pure CM10.1 kang, but the AOSP camera made me jump back because I needed to get good pictures of something last week.
I haven't tried EclipticRez because the opening post is long and confusing with excessive change logs, and mcluvin's se7en skin looks ugly as sin to me.
EclipticRez is about to be updated to sense 4.1,
I wouldn't hold my breath on viper being updated, he's been promising an update for over 6 months
Sense still lives. It just seems like there are a lot of dev's working on JB sense. Most of what we have for ICS has been taken to it's logical endpoint. Although I realize that not every bug has been worked out on Sense 4+, most of those ROMs are nearly 100% and rock solid. AOSP development is more exciting now. I come back to Sense from time to time, but the cutting edge is AOSP. And I've got to say, I'm a sucker for new; even if new means bugs. But believe me, once JB Sense drops, I'll be one of the first to try.

The op and change logs reflect that hawk has been constantly updating and improving the rom. He just updated it to sense 4.1. The se7en skin isn't part of the rom.

I was more or less wondering this myself recently after using Newt's Sense 4 ROM. I was curious if there was any benefit of going backwards to 3.6 - this just answered my question. Sense 3.6 looks like a cheap plastic imitation of Sense 4. Terrible!
Thanks for the link, definitely made my mind up.

I think Sense 4.0 looks far more polished than it's predecessors... Plain Vanilla Android has always looked just that, plain. I know plenty of people are more visually attracted to that, but personally I've always thought AOSP ROMs looked like a 'rough draft' of Android. I've run ICS and didn't have it installed for more than an hour. Google obviously doesn't seem to spend a whole lot of time on 'presentation' versus 'performance'. Which is fine with me, as every company puts their own skin on it anyway. I know Google adds cool visual stuff here and there, like transitions and what not, but overall it looks fairly plain. This is just my personal opinion, though. That's the reason I've kept buying HTC is for Sense UI...
They both have ups and downs except for the crayola crayon UI by Sammy lol
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Personally Sense to me has always been my favorite, and in my opinion, Sense has more customization options and more traditional feel for HTC. So you'll never be able to change sense. It's always going to be alike to its predecessors. Unlike stock Android, GB Stock is wayyy different then ICS stock android

If so, let's do it here! Anyone tried this ROM yet? I remember for the OG EVO, he made one of the best ROMs there was. I'm assuming based on the time this took to drop that it will also be very impressive. I honestly haven't flashed it yet, but I'm curious how it is so far. Thoughts?

Ehh.. I'm not saying it won't be a kickass rom, but I doubt that. There isn't much difference in performance in any sense rom. Some have awesome tweaks, some are smooth.. Some might give slightly better battery.
In the end, regardless of the sweeping statements people claim.. Sense isn't gonna get but SO smooth and battery isn't gonna get but SO good. I love Miks roms, just wish people wouldn't overdo it.

Aren't all the tweaks pretty much like Leedroid Tweaks?
***Cooking The Work With Them Gloves On, So The Junkies Can Get They Grub On***
leedroid tweaks are what's built into viper - amaikam has some similar tweaks (ran his roms on the OG - guy's a monster - can't wait to try out his full rom when its done), but if you're looking for the original leedroid, that would be viper.
I thought they were Leedroid. I will try to learn how to do my own roms etc when I get a pc. I've been dying to make a rom called Kao Rom with help from all the beast developers like Virus, Leedroid, Toast (maybe), Mikeyxda etc. Then I'll be a great developer too, & give back to the community.
***Cooking The Work With Them Gloves On, So The Junkies Can Get They Grub On***
leedroid tweaks were developed by j4n87, who developed them into that pokemon rom (whose name I forget), who then worked with viperboy and vin on incorporating those tweaks into into the viper4g rom for the lte (and the other team venom roms).
Good luck with your rom - but if you really want to give back to the community, you don't need to be a developer, or even have a team (Team Transcendent, I guess? lol). Just be respectful, help people out, and try to leave xda a better and more helpful place for people to learn.
I loaded it today.
Been running MeanROM 2.6.
It has a setting in the settings to choose how you want your soft buttons mapped which is pretty cool.
It has Google Now built in like MeanROM.
And it has Sprint HotSpot enabled that actually worked for a while (I wanted a Bluetooth Tether) and could not get anything to work at all but it worked on this ROM (for a while).
I went back to MeanROM 2.6 for now because the built in Google Now has the same issues as MeanROM 2.7 and up (which has Google Now) in that it completely breaks Voice Dialing over bluetooth.
It has all the Rosie Mods too.
It's definitely more than a "base".

Correct there are no public releases yet, jellybean is as stable as ICS in my opinion for what I use, but the developers are doing very extensive testing to make sure that the average user doesn't have any more risk flashing jellybean than they do with ICS. When it is released, its because Chad and the other guys working at the source level feel it's relatively safe and secure.

I'm thinking that rezound development is better now than its ever been. We have aosp, senseless, sense 3.6, sense 4.0, sense 4.1 and a sense 4.5 test build. That's just OS versions. There's more roms actively being updated and developed now than I can ever remember. PM me if you have some questions on recommendations or where to find good roms.

I'd love to check out JB but I went back to a Sense 3.6 ROM (Rezone Redux) from Rage 1.9 because of issues with my phone not switching towers properly. Airplane mode became my most used quick setting.

Google Now has nothing to do with Sense 4... It's a JB feature that's been ported to ICS (though we don't have the most current version ported)
The differences between the two are mostly cosmetic and improvements in processes - http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/45134/htc-sense-3-6-vs-sense-4
Neat article. I like the 3.6 clock widget better and Rosie and my seamless rotating carousel. The new Rosie reminds me of the old 'eris' days. Some of the devs used nav bars similar to sense 4+ on their sense roms.I also like my app drawer better vertical. But...I probably wouldn't complain if I had a droid dna...lol.

Have tried the 4.x ROMs and definitely prefer Sense 3.6. I like the widgets that work with Exchange much better (tasks, calendar) than with the "newer" versions. For instance, you can postpone a task by day or longer in 3.6 but postponing in 4.x is much more clumsy.
I'm curious about what the M7's v5 will look like, but I can certainly wait.
I really like Sense 3.6...at least everything worked on it **cough cough MHL cough cough**.
The ONLY drawback to Sense 3.6 IMHO...lack of landscape features in Sense (ala Sense 4.x)
Very Satisfied with 3.6 Rom
