I have a problem to send a textfile via bluetooth to another device. The devices are already paired. Can you give me a full example of a filetransfer.
Try with the last free version of ES File Explorer, I can transfer all kind of files through bluetooth or copy directly from my pc through wifi.

Hello there,
i would like to acess my home network with my x10 mini. There is a connection to my wireless network and internet connection works fine, but I canĀ“t acess my telephone via PC.
Is there any way to copy files from PC over WLAN to X10 mini?
Maybe any apps?
thanks
Yup, there are a few.
DavDrive sets up a webdav server on the phone - WinXP can connect to this (I'm not sure if it works on vista/win7) and you can browse your SD card and drag/drop files
Astro has a plugin that'll let you browse windows shares (so you can copy files from your PC directly from the phone)
ES File Explorer can handle windows shares directly, without needing a plugin.
Any others?

ES File Explorer has worked very well for me for browsing file shares.
I recommend using the WebSharing app for accessing your phone contents via browser through Wifi. Can copy, upload, download, move, delete, rename, etc all through your computer and it's VERY fast.
Can any tell me if their is an app. like Bluetooth File Transfer where it connects to your pc/mac but shows the computers files on the phone not like all the WIFI apps. I have found that you have to access via a website on your computer.
I want to be able to transfer my file to my computer and from my computer using the phone.
Is this not possible with WIFI???

You can try phone explorer (need desktop client too) or <web sharing> (search in the market)
the file sharing app can use your browser to log in to your device storage to upload and download through wifi, however free version can only download and upload one file at the time.
the phone explorer got more function, you can send SMS through it, mod your calender and contact and so on, can download and upload multiple file through wifi to your phone and vise versa.
i would recommend phone explorer, but it quite unstable when your wifi strength is not good or too much traffic on your wifi. So you can try to use web sharing as backup but the function will be very limited.
i use this it works pretty well.
Download "ES File Explorer" from market it works perfect. I'm using it and never failed...

P500 - Other phones
Unable to send files to other phones of any type through the default stock file manager. " x File not sent" error. Bluetooth on, device discoverable, Paired but not connected.
Used ThinkOffice Free and sent files successfully to the same phones without any problem regarding file sizes or file types by using it's file manager. Bluetooth on, device discoverable, Paired but not connected.
Other Phones - P500
If said phones have FTP , they access files easily on P500 and get whatever they need. The other phones are able to send stuff too.
P500-W7 Laptop
Unable to send files from phone to laptop. Laptop can access bluetooth folder and get the files it needs or it can send whatever files it needs to send. All laptops I tried to connect with, I got the same error. "x File not sent" on the same settings.
Summary: Default file manager unable to send files to any device. ThinkOfficeFree File Manager using the same bluetooth settings manages to send files to phones, but not a Win7 Laptop.
Searched the forum for similar threads, and they suggest using an alternate file manager which is what ThinkOfficeFree file manager basically is. But for phone to laptop transfers I might try another file manager to see if it works.
My questions are :
1. Is it natural to have such problems? Even my lowly GM200 sends files without any hiccups. It's Android 2.2 after all not 1.5 >.>
2. Is using an alternate file manager the only solution ? And does it work all the time with any device, laptop or phone?
3. I see many people bugged with the issue, why isn't there a proper fix yet from the devs and manufacturers themselves?
4. Will formatting /erasing the SD card*default that came with the phone*, factory resetting the phone help the cause?

yes these problems do exist in 2.2 but custom rom works well
try using blutooth file transfer and check if it works
no use formatting your sd card
Bluetooth File Transfer works.. Although it's slow on the "searching for service" "connecting to service" front, the rest is for now going on smoothly.
Is it possible to explore the SD card's contents on Android phone using Bluetooth connection ?
Years back when I had Sony K800, i switched on BT on phone and laptop, and I could see the K800 on the "My Computer" page.
then i could enter and explore and transfer files directly through the windows explorer.
Currently I have HTC Desire S, running Android 2.3.5 and Laptop CQ-45 (Compaq) running Vista.
But I am not able to explore the phone easily.
To transfer file I have to select each file, then start the BT file transfer wizard on laptop, which could either send or receive ONE file at a time.
if I try to send more than one file (pictures, few MBs), then only one gets sent and I have to restart the BT file wizard again to receive another file on the laptop.
I use this just if I need to transfer a few snaps i might have taken with the phone, for larger files (videos) i use the USB cable.
I installed the BT File Transfer app from the Market, but that also does not help.
Any other ways ?
My wifi is not always on, so i cannot use Airdroid or some such way.
Options are BT or USB.
thanks.
anyone ?
Hello,
I have a JioFi dongle with a 64Gb micro sd in it, to facilitate local wifi storage. The difficulty I face is that, i cant seem to get a seamless synchronization with the data stored in the dongle.
Earlier I used to have ES file explorer and I used to set it up along with my pc within a LAN network so that I could easily share files wirelessly by simply setting permissions for the folder to be shared.
But now I've moved to the open source world, and I could hardly find an alternative to make it possible with my WiFi dongle. Syncthing did cross my mind, but it needs the recipient device to have that installed as well (which is not possible since in this case the device is a dongle).
Eventually, i have to use a browser and share the files through it, with every time logging in as admin. That is tiresome.
So, any possible method I could implement here ? I only need a file explorer like experience so as to easily stay in sync with the data stored in it.
TL;Dr - Any method by which I could sync and access the local data stored in a portable wifi storage, perhaps a file explorer (preferably open source) ?
