Is it possible to get the navigation bar on ROMs which don't have it already cooked in? I'm referring to the navigation bar which is on the unofficial aokp and pa ROMs.
My capacative buttons stopped working and the navigation bar on unofficial aokp is the only thing that kept this phone out the trash.
I'm trying to get the navigation bar on preludedrews Evervolv 4.2 ROM.
Thanks in advance for all help and input.

You might want to consider LMT Launcher. It provides the soft keys functionality without having to modify system UI files.

Exactly what i needed. Looks dope too. Good lookin ramjet.

There's a thread with replacement SystemUI files, but they're not for CM7.
CM7 lets me do limited things with the status bar, but what I'm looking for is an ICS style action bar (if that's what it's called) with the MENU, HOME, and BACK soft keys centered at the bottom, and the status bar at the top.
Is it a theme or launcher? Can it be done? I think I've tried everything I can find except CM9. Am I expecting too much?

When I was grabbing the newest cm7.2 at succulent blog, I noticed he had some links to theme'ing cm7 to look like ICS.

Thanks much! There's one in there that I hadn't tried:

They aren't even centered in ICS unless you mean the phone style nav bar? It's built into the status bar just like in CM7.

You're right (of course) about CM7 and ICS.
I meant centered like they are in the replacement SystemUI I referenced in the OP.

Well... bummer. It's nice. It's pretty. But it's just Ice Cream flavored Gingerbread. It does have bigger buttons which is good. The status can't separated from the action buttons, though. At least from what I could determine.
I'll just patiently wait a while longer for CM9 to firm up. Or maybe try the new (rumored) OTA update in the mean time.
GO DEVS!
I've been searching for a launcher or a Rom that has this ability?
Basically, to be able to move the top navigation bar to the bottom of the screen. And instead of swiping down, swiping up to bring up all the options.
Anyone have any insight?

you might wanna say "status bar" not navigation bar. And to do this, you would have to install a custom ROM, as no launcher can do this. I believe Paranoid Android and PACman rom does this by making the phone into the tablet ui mode and having the status bar on the bottom.

The launcher doesn't do this sir. that woudl be the SystemUI that controls the Status bar and the Notification Dropdown. That would have to be modifed to do so.

Woops sorry, I guess I meant Status bar, Are there any other VZW Roms that are known to have this option?
How come a launcher cant do this if they can modify other things?

The launcher IS the interface that controls the homescreen/app drawer (hence the name "app" launcher). By installing a 3rd party launcher you override the default TW ones. The status bar is located in another application that cannot be replaced.

The buttons on my fascinate broke, So I was forced to add Virtual Buttons/ Soft-Keys o the prop.txt. But now I want to make the soft keys transparent like on the Moto X. Does anyone know how to do so. (Running CM 10.1 on Verizon Samsung Fascinate)
I attached a screen shot so you can see.

I believe you need a ROM that allows for transparency adjustment. cm10.1 builds don't have that setting, it'd be pretty difficult to get it working. switch to helly bean. helly bean is based off of cm10.1 so it's stable but it's really customizable, and navigation bar is toggled in system settings, not through build.prop so it's easy
also, as far as i understand, in that rom anyway, transparency goes for both the status bar and nav bar. if you're okay with transparent status bar (i think it looks cool) then you can change transparency settings in the same place.
but motorola's customization as you said, only makes the soft key background transparent. if you only want that, i'm not too sure how to help you.
@LGC_Gamma
Unless you run xposed i don't think you can.
+1 for a ROM with built in navbar soft keys.
They have adjustable transparency levels
A 2nd choice would be ultimate dynamic navbar
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mrbimc.udn.lite
I know it has it too.
Or "gmd auto hide soft keys"
Can't remember if this did or not,, less functional to me,, so i uninstalled fairly quickly
.
Thanks for that, I'll definitely check out both of them.

Hi people!
Is there a way of moving the signal and wifi icons to the left, on the status bar?
In MIUI we've got the globeROM mod, that allows us to do this.
I want a solution for CM/LineageOS/AOSP based ROMs.
I'm using the latest NitrogenOS, Android 7.1.2.
Cheers

Go to developer options and under drawing select force RTL layout direction.
Hit thanks if I helped
This option flipped my whole phone's layout!
What I actually want is the iPhone's status bar disposal, like this:
Signal, Wifi (left) | clock (middle) | Bluetooth, alarm, battery, location, etc (right)
For Nougat: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.james.status but I don't really like it. You can try it, maybe it will be what you want. For MM: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bocharov.xposed.fsbi which is amazing and almost the only reason I stay in MM (needs Xposed).
hi all,
i wanted to ask if there's an option/a way to chose the color/transparency of the navigation bar? because as it stands right now i sometimes get a bright white navigation bar on an app running in dark mode which is a bit annoying... my guess is, it has to do if the app plays nicely in fullscreen mode or not but maybe there's a way to force it?
thanks for reading!
edit: somehow i have problems attaching my screenshots... i hope it works now
try custom roms
