help pls....

What happens when you download other files? Tell me about this so I'll understand whether it's the problem of the file itself or not.

You'd better to search to see if other users have the same issue. May be the internal storage of your device supports only app installation, not file download. You may repartition the device storage to get a free space disguised as a 'virtual' SD card.

3. is it possible to make sd card as a default ROM. if so how?
thanks

following are the current specs.
WALABY
MODEL SIEMENS SX-56
ROM VERSION 3.17.03 ENG
RADIO VERSION A.20.10
PROTOCOL VERSION 324e4
1. if anyone sends me a picture logo message on sms i am unable to view that message can this problem be fixed.
Yes, but the solution is not good at all..
It is just theoretically possible..
One must create software that takes over your SMS functionality.
Such a hack would not be very pretty..
2. i have a 128 mb sd card installed. the software i loaded are on SD Card. now when i check the memory on system it says 3.83 mb free. and cannot run some games as it says not enough memory. what to do to fix this problem.
Start -> Settings -> System ->Memory
Use the slider to make more space available for "Program"
3. is it possible to make sd card as a default ROM. if so how?
Huh?
ROM = Read Only Memory..
Activate "Lock" on your SD card, and it's "Read Only"..
But I seriously doubt that this is what you are thinking about.
If you are thinking of booting from the SD card, then the answer is "no"..
If you are thinking of something else; please rephrase your question.

[Q] Broken sdcard reader on phone?

Hi,
Yesterday I was backuping files from sdcard to pc. I accidentally interrupted it in the middle of the process and then I got warnings on phone about sddcard being corrupted.
Next thing I did, was to change my firmeware (ICS). (Thats why I was backuping). In new firmaware I still got info about sd card being corrupted so I tried to format it on phone with no results. I formatted it on PC to fat system.
NOW here is a problem:
When I put a sdcard which is full (transferred files from PC) - in settings - storage I can seee that it is full (gives info about how many mbs are free). However when I try to enter external_sd with ES File Explorer or normal android explorer it shows that there are NO files on sdcard. When I try to connect phone with sdcard in it to PC I can only see main phone storage not SD card.
It happens with every sdcard I put into my phone.
Anyone knows what to do?
EDIT: Now I am on Hydrogen ICS
Did you check to see if the SD card was mounted?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Yes it is. In settings I can see how much space is on it left.
*Is there a format option in ICS?*
*Maybe I should try formatting from recovery? How to?*
But still other sd cards doesn't work either.
My fault - Hydrogen ICS has new path to sdcard /emmc.
*panic mode off*
LOL........
since you sort it out yoursself, and cant thank yourself I made it for you....

[Q] "Cannot finish download. There is not enough space." Error Message - CM7

[Q] "Cannot finish download. There is not enough space." Error Message - CM7
So I rooted the Nook a while back with the SD card, but finally decided to put on CM7 using the internal method, since the largest SD card I have is 2GB.
My device is not letting me download anything and I get the error "Cannot finish the download. There is not enough space". Even if I want to download something that is just a few KBs.
I've tried changing the download directory on Dolphin Browser, but it makes me download to the SDCard directory.
Also, when I plug the Nook into my computer via USB, I see "Boot: (H", but I don't see the SD Card, which I believe I used to.
I put the micro-SD card back into the adapter and into my computer, it says I have 69.4 MB of used space, and 0 bytes of free space. This is a 2GB card.
If I try to transfer a file from my laptop to the internal storage via USB, it tells me I do not have enough space as well (even though the file is only 1MB).
I'd really appreciate any help, also it's my understanding that I need to download GAPPS in order to get the google play market working.. correct?
are u in windoze 7 and forgot to run as administrator ?
in file explorer, if you right click on the sd card, what does it say about it ?
I'm on Vista...
I guess I am confused about what you are asking. Here is what the general properties say:
SD: Boot
Filesystem: FAT 32
Used Space: 69.4 MB
Free Space: 0 MB
Capacity: 69.4 MB
( i do not own vista... i'm still running xp . . . lol ) um, it sounds like you have only r/o ( read-only ) privileges to that device.

That seemed very likely, but I was actually able to delete some photos that were on the SD card that I had before, and was able to put another one on there. When I try to load it on the nook, I get the error "The android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.".
I click "Force Close" and it keeps popping up repeatedly. It also shows then whenever I try to download anything.

one of my favorite rules is : 'when in doubt, wipe it out' ! . some try this. . copy all your stuff off the sd and park it temporarily on a hard disk sub-dir. . then use a good utility to refresh the device ( sdformatter ? ). . then try the sd in the android again.
.
um, ( a lite bulb goes on above my head ), you believe you gotta a glitch in the android and your sd card is fine . . . wow, that could be very true.
.
so 'android.process.media' is broken... ugg. . this is where i heard you have to re-flash ( with wiping data and cache ) to fix...

I will try that. Just seems odd it only started happening once I installed CM7.
Might be too simple but when downloads have failed for me with the message you mentioned I have completely powered down my Nook, waited a few minutes, then restarted it. It cleared up the 'not enough space' problem. Doesn't solve your SD card problem, but might resolve your failed downloads.
Got the same message initially....downloading using XP.....you didn't unzip the folder downloaded first so you are trying to download compresses boot.img file (I think that's what happenned, although it sounds counter intuitive). Anyway instead of left clicking directly on downloaded folder to open (which contains only one file...boot.img) unzip the folder first.....right click unzip...save outside of original downloaded folder. Now you have it! Use that file.
Hope I'm recalling this correctly, it was a few days ago! Give it a whirl.

By way if further explanation...I was downloading on my laptop running xp when problem presented...are you downloading to your Nook or to your computer then installing zip on micro sd off of computer? This is unclear to me in your posts.?

My explanation sounds weird and is probably wrong but the method I described works unsigned your computer...compressed/ uncompressed..whatever...it worked!

"Using" not "unsigned" ...god damns predictive text keyboard!
android memory error
I was receiving this same "low memory" error message on my phone and found a simple and easy app on the market called simply enough "Market Fix". It is free and with the touch of one button, fixed all my market issues. Don't know how it works but it saved me alot of frustration. I don't see why it would work for the nook tablet as well. It's worth a shot before wiping.
re: not enough space error
Saw in development thread that there was a limit placed on number of downloads of CM7 permitted which was met...but developer has resolved that issue. Other people were having trouble downloading the ROM but don't know if this was the error message they got.
Perhaps this was the source of your problem in downloading ROM rather than my explanation above?
CHeck last few pages of CM7 thread where you got instructions and links for installing ROM.
Hope you get it all worked out.

I was getting the same error message. Could not get rid of this error even when I removed a significant portion of my apps. The system info always showed lots of room but the message continued. I think I have blundered on the solution. I have the Nook Tablet which was partitioned and then rooted. Many people have noted that NT comes with Netflix installed and that Google Play continuously wants to updated this app. It seems that if you update Netflix it confuses the system and Netflix is installed on the B&N Partition as well as the portion reserved for other apps. I un-installed Netflix update as well as any apps that come from B&N as well as Google Play so there are not duplicates. Seems to have worked. Worth a try.

Try wiping out dalvik cache either through cwm recovery or titanium backup. I had a similar error while installing apps through sideloading apks and doing the above fixed that problem.
Sent from my Nook Tablet using xda premium
@OP just format your sdcard, i recommend SDFormatter... google it!

Hi, i got this problem when I enable swap SD to external on my note2.. (Omega V9.1 rom, RedHill V1.0 kernel.). After some search, found that it is because the broswer setting -<Advance>- <Default storage> must change from memory card --> Device (since I had swap ExtSD & SD). With this set, all browser download is running smoothly..

You are aware that this is both a very old thread, and also it's about Nook Tablet ?
I'm sure the problem was solved one way or another, or we would have heard more about it, but FWIW I'm pretty sure that in this case it was caused by CM7 mounting the SD card as internal storage, and all that was needed was restoring the card to it's full capacity (or inserting another card). Like LaveroBurgos suggests.

[Q] SD Card problem

Hi,
Basically I have just got an S3 and it came with a 32gb sd card. I am trying to put all my photos, music and videos on the sd card to keep space on the phone free for apps but whenever I do, usually most of the files can't be read and it will display a message like "Sorry this file cannot be played". But then if I put the same file on the phone it will work just fine. I have tried formatting to FAT32 as suggested in other threads and that didn't work. And I have also tried transferring the files through Kies, easy ums, easyphonesync and mtp to my sd card and they wouldn't work either when trying to play/view them. Could someone please give me a basic guide on how to get my media to work from my sd card. Thanks.
Info about my phone
rooted using CFRoot
*#1234# info:
AP: I9300XXBLG8
CP: I9300XXLH1
CSC: I9300OXABLG8
Ext SD card .
Folder VIDEO and Folder Media work for me .
jje
reflash your rom make sure u folow the correct instruction wipe data partion , wipe partion cache and dalvik cache.. maybe will fix your problem
Can you give details of just which files cannot be played? FAT32 has a 4GB file size limit so if you try to play something larger it will fail. Music from iTunes needs to be converted to play, and other file types may need a player for them. My system seems to play anything ask of it so I guess most of the file types are supported but maybe your ROM lacks some of the support needed?
I'm on JB - not sure if ICS has the same support...
thanks for all the suggestions, it turned out to be the sd card, sorry for bothering everyone

[Q] Mass storage and sdcard problem creating folder

Hello everyone. I owned the Samsung Galaxy S2.
ICS 4.0.4
Baseband version I9100XXLQ5
Kernel version 3.0.15-I9100XXLQ5-CL753921
Build number IMM76D.XXLQ5
I have a problem I can not solve, so I hope someone will help!
Can not create a folder in "sdcard". When I try to create a folder appears the error "Sorry, operation failed." I use ES File Explorer.
Also when you want to copy a folder from the external sd, disallowing.
Note that the external _sd can create a folder and I have no problem as the sdcard (internal memory).
Also when I connect my phone to PC as Mass Storage, the sdcard can not create a folder.
It appears to me the error "The file '<1% NULL: NameDest>' is too large for the destination file system".I tried to re flashing ROM,but no effects.
I will be grateful if someone help me or direct me to where I can find a solution to this problem.

I Also had this Problem, the way i fixed it was:
1. close your phone and remove your SD card.
2. plug the SD card to your PC and run Error checking & Defragmentation.
3. if you wish Format the SD (i did that).
4. put back the SD card in your phone.
5. i used Astro file manger on my phone try this app to make /copy / paste on your SD.
Hope that will help you as it help me.
If not the last thing i can advice you to do is to replace the SD with a Different SD and see if with another one it is working... maybe your SD card just died on you...
Good luck.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did what you said, and I tried a new card, but it did not help.
My problem is to create a folder on the internal memory and copying from external memory. T
he external card can I create a folder and I have no problems there.
I solved the problem. I did Factory data reset.
My phone was first a SIM lock, so I unlocked the service.
I was afraid that it will be locked again if you do Factory data reset, but I risked, and there were no problems.
Only now I have another problem, 4GB internal memory, and should be 16GB.( i not touched PIT file)
