Hi All,
recently I have rooted by Samsung Galaxy S III, flashed and reinstalled ROM to a custom one. The problem is that after I reinstalled the ROM, I am unable to hear anything in my speaker, when dialing. People cannot hear me on the other side either. This is pretty weird, as when I switch to loudspeaker, I can hear the phone call all right.
The issue happened for MIUI, several different versions I tried. It happened also for for pre-rooted TouchWiz that I found on the web and reinstalled after issue with MIUI.
Now I have cyanogenmod and the dialer WORKS fine for this ROM, without any issues. I just want to switch to MIUI, and I can see I might have the same issue for all custom ROMs, except cyanogenmod.
What's the problem? Can anyone advise?
I have attached dump from my android system info app, I hope this will be helpful.
I have the same problem on some AOKP, AOSP, CM roms, not on stock based roms, and after search and trying many many many things, i find that enabling screen lock sounds (or touch sounds) and restarting device, and keeping that enabled does solve the problem. But if you losing the network signal when you don't have the tone in call that might be a hardware issue.

Thanks man,
Did you try this on miui? Can you specify in more details how to enable these lock or touch sounds?

Try performing a mega wipe mate before installing your preferred rom
BUT BEWARE AS IT WIPES ALL FROM INTERNAL MEMORY

Hi everyone!
I am experiencing some strange problems and I am hoping that someone could help me as I have tried everything i knew so far.
I experience this problem on every 4.2 ROM such as Supernexus, Temasek Cyanogenmod etc.
Every time I restart my phone (GT-i9300) no one can hear me during a call and I can't hear nothing either. The call is placed but there is no sound.
I have tried deleting everything(internal memory, cache, dalvik..) reflashing several times still the same, flashing other basebands, still not working.
This does not happen on ROMs based on Samsung offical firmware.
Thank you!
This is a known issue, use search.

I just found that out in one of the threads. Thank you!
Hey every body.
I'm having a nightmare with my s3.
Back at the start of April I changed my from from stock to cyanogen mod 9.1.
It was rooted prior to this and never gave any issues.
Cyanogen 9.1 worked perfect until today. I'm not sure if its an issue with the ROM or the phone
Symptoms are if I call somebody there us no dial tone but I can tell when they answer because the timer starts timing the call but I hear nothing.
They can hear me alright but that's it.
I tried flashing back my stock from but the phone won't recognize the next SD card.
Can anyone help please. I need this phone working
Thanks
Looks like the issue sorted itself out on its own accord.
Can anyone shed some light on what to do if it does it again?
I have got the same issue. I don't know why is it happening, but I have the solution.
###
Turn ON the screen lock sound in the audio settings. Restart your S3. Thats it. Keep it on.

Search and read rom descriptions and threads is how you find them no other way .

I have a bit of a weird problem, so thought I would throw it open to the good people on XDA.
Every so often, with no real pattern, rhyme or reason, my phone decides it ISN'T going to make a sound when I get a call, it vibrates, but does not actually ring.
I did a bit of testing yesterday and there is no logical reason for this to be happening, and it does not follow any pattern (rings for one call, doesn't the next, rings for next etc)
I am using stock XXEMC3 firmware (not the leaked 4.2.2), with JKay Deluxe Settings and Boeffla Kernel, no other mods that would effect this. I have reset all the Boeffla-Sound settings and still have the problem. This has been happening for quite a while now, and I have been thru at least 2 different firmware versions, and multiple versions of both JKay and Boeffla, so not sure where this bug may have come from.
Thanx in advance for any help u guys may be able to give.
did you try a kernel other than boeffla?

Nope, never tried any others, and never had any problems with Boeffla. Have asked this question in the Boeffla thread and AndiP has never heard of this issue before, no one else has ever come across it.

Nope, blocking mode is turned off. Also I have no apps that can control "quiet times" either.

have you tried making a backup via CWM then doing a complete factory reset? Just to test.
I am facing a strange problem that I don't get call waiting alert while using blue tooth. I can clearly hear notification otherwise but it goes away on bluetooth device. Tried on two different bluetooth units. This problem occurs on 4.2.2 Rom's .All the rest of sounds like music and sms notifications are fine There is no such issue on 4.1.2. Please help

Which specific 4.4.2 rom are you using?
I'm using omni-4.4.2-20131219-i9100-NIGHTLY and I don't have that issue.

Hope that helps!

I tried this ROM. Its really nice and I want to have it on my device but my problem still remains there. I m only able to use till android 4.1.2 versions. Anything beyond that causes this Bluetooth call waiting issue. I m really missing upgrades . it's strange not to get only call waiting notification over Bluetooth. All the rest of the sounds are OK.

I am having the same problem. Tried many ROMs (Cyanogenmod, Jellybam, Omnirom, Revolt,...) but anything above 4.1.2 leads to this strange issue. At first i thought it was the Bluetooth device thats why I tried several of those as well (Plantronics, LG, Samsung, Bose,...) and its the same every time.
I really can't get behind this and never found anypne with a simillar issue. I have pretty much resigned myself to always having 4.1.2 until i've seen this thread. Now i have hope, please don't crush it.
Is there anybody out there who has any idea how to solve this?
Anything? I hate to be stuck on JB.
Hi,
So i own a poco f1. I have installed a number of custom roms on this phone. But the reason I had to switch everytime is because of a constant voicecall issue. The issue, muffled voice heard from people i call and vice-versa and my voice is not understandable. I noticed this issue to persist only on custom roms as all miui roms (current 10.3.8 global) seems to not have this issue.
The build.prop tweak (disabling fluencetype to 'none') also didnt work.
And so, here I am, I guess.....
Thanks in advance

I'm dealing the same f4cking problem, I think the phone is using top much as main mic and bottom as noise cancelling and it's a pain in the as5
Have you tried LineageOS? I was thinking of installing it, but I won't if there are problems with voice calls...
Cheers
