Hi folks,
some issues/doubts:
Since I have updated to Android version I9100XWLSD (4.1.2) JB Nordic Countries, would I earn up to 50GB of storage on Dropbox? If so, how to activate this?
Another thing: I'm not getting to enable remote control (Config / Security / Remote Controls), I enter the Samsung account password (the account is already registered on the phone) and a message "To enable remote controls, you must register with a Samsung account and select Google location service below". Below that appear two options, Account registration with my the email address (if I click on the address nothing happens), and just below appears Use wireless networks, which is already marked. Could someone check if your GSII behaves the same? I really would like to enable remote controls of my phone (via samsungdive)
Also, I am not able to backup the device using my Samsung account, but I was able to synchronize my data.
Thank you!
You won't get 50 gb from dropbox by installing build LSD, only the JB leak - LSJ. I personally don't use the Samsung apps.
Sent from my digital submersible hovercraft.
yep..flash the LEAK firmware, then upgrade to XXLS8 or XWLSD, you'll still get the 50Gb dropbox from the leak one
Thanks everyone.
I also discovered how to fix the Samsung account / Remote controls issues. Just follow the instructions in the following threat : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18123953&postcount=22

Lol. Sometimes these threads get lost if you don't bump them bro. The only thing I can think of for you do to would be to get into recovery and and choose wipe data/factory reset and see if starting over with a fresh start helps. That way you can setup your gmail account through the setup wizard in the very beginning. Hopefully this helps you out.
wow i got a reply,thx so much!
did asinstructed device went on in the state i bought with no initial setup,so doesnt ask me anything and goes straight lockscreen.
went to account and sync , add account no google account i can add, so no market access...wtfh..
so i should go with a custom rom?
if ya which ones most stable fast?
final word: pretty sad to flash rom just to get market access, samsung tablet in asia total fail? no wonder y ipad so popular...

Did you reset user data or do a full recovery from the recovery menu? If you do a full recovery from the menu the unit will start up just like the first time you powered it on. Use the same google account for both devices and any apps that are capable will be synched to both devices.
You might try installing the current release version for 3.1 which is version 1.0.28 I believe. You can get it by going to the android market web site (access this from your tabs browser and not from a pc the pc won't find the app) and searching for android market.
I know some users have reported that the 3.1.5 is working on some tabs I may be wrong but I was under the impression that initially at least this was a phone release and not a tab release.
If you're really struggling you could flash one of the stock roms over at http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-p7510.htm but make sure you use the right country/Language version.
Brian
should be using android market v1.0.28 for tablets. Version 3.1 is for phones I belive..
thx for reply, obviously tablet bought in CHINA comes with CHINA Firmware with no Google account so no android market possible!!!!!
Flashed ASIA firmware onto it from samfirmware.com and now i got android market

On China Firmware if u start Android Market it keeps asking u to add a Google Account and then quits application. No where to add Google account. China Firmware
FTL!!!!!!!!!!

Could this have anything to do with it?
If so, I would recommend you install a different country's ROM. Even so, since your government is blocking the Market, you may not be able to get it working

Hi,
I am having trouble with My Samsung Galaxy S2 (ICS 4.0.3) Sim alert and mobile tracker.
I go to Settings -> Location and security -> Find my mobile and everytime I try to check SIM CHANGE ALERT it says in progress but it doesn't check so I am unable to check or set up the other two options (Alert message recipients or remote controls) so can't track my mobile with Dive.
I have a samsung account and I am signed in...
Can anyone help me out - be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Maybe you should try to remove your sim card, reinsert it and try again,,,
If it does not work, check other security options for any errors..
Yes, i have tried that...but nothing changes....
I had this problem the other week. If I remember correctly, I had to delete the Samsung account (don't worry, there's a bug in Samsung's ICS 4.0.3 which allows you to remove it without doing a factory wipe!), then re-add it, and go into Samsung Apps->My page->Downloads to check that it's working properly.
Oh, and it should go without saying that you need a data connection (3G or WiFi) and your Samsung account password...

Yes it's works ! Thanks for your help cowbutt....
we just need to remove and re-add the samsung account...
1. just go to Settings > Accounts and sync then remove your samsung account from there....
2. then go to Settings > Security > Find my mobile > check the menu "SIM change alert" then insert your samsung id and password...now the menu is checked.
for menu "Remote Controls" same as step 2.
if one of the above menu checked will automatically add your samsung account to account and sync menu.

SIM alert sending IMEI instead of Phone number
After ICS upgrade 4.0.3 in Galaxy S2, SIM change feature sending IMEI number when SIM changing!! Previously it was sending phone number.
Anybody knows how to fix it?

Yes , I tested this feature on Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-i9100G, it works and It really sends the IMEI number.
But if you checked the source of the message it will be definitley , the phone number.
so you have both IMEI and Phone number.
Regards
Thanks

Hi, does anyone know about the Lenovo A278t if it can be rooted so we can rid off the android version 2.3.5 for the china market and instead put a version of Android that could work with Google. (For those who do not know, google in android devices in China does not come pre-installed due to the poor strategy google has in China).

Hi, I have this problem, I bought a Lenovo A278t Dual Sim Phone with Android 2.3.5 for China Market...I brouth my phone to Mexico and put the SIM of Telcel Carrier, the phone works great, but when trying to look for Google Play app, I wasn´t abble to find it anywhere on my phone, So I did I google serach to find out that Google for chinese devices has very limited acces, and sometimes the google apps dos not come pre installed on the device, so this is a pian in the "#$#%& so what I did is following some threads, I fianally could dounlowd and apk from and open market on the web, So I finally installed Google Play on my phone, so far so good...
The problem is when trying to open the app it prompts me to set up the google account on the device...so I go to Accounts & Sync just to find out there is only the option for an Exchange account, not Goggle account, either way I input as follows...
Email: [email protected]
Password: mypassword*****
Then the following screen ask for:
Domain\Username: \[email protected]
Password: mypassword****
Server: m.google.com
Use secure connection (SSL): I tried checked and unchecked
the result: Nothin....just a message that says:
Setup could not finish...unable to open connection to server...
or
Setup could not finish...This server requires security features your phone does not support
I tried doing the set up without the SIM on the phone, but same situation, no set up is completed.
Note: This device is on the list of authorized devices by google, so the android license is recognized by Google. The Chinese carrier is China Mobile, but since my pohone is now in Mexico the Mexicna Carrier is now TELCEL, Hope Google tries to do something to fix this issues on an OS so popular as android. Is a hame I have to waste so much time in order to buy some great apps.
Hope someone can get a solution.
Thanks!

Hi. did u fix the problem? I had the same problem and I really need the solution. Thanks
hello to all, and please pardon me for my bad english.
i bought this i9100 (i9100GSMH) from ebay, from a guy who said "i was unable to find lockscreen sequence".
i was incredibly lucky, found it after some 30-40 attempts, but this is where real problems started.
The device is fully functional, 2.3.3 stock Gingerbread, branded O2, simlocked and contains all the first owner put in, more than 400 images, music, family videos and so on.
Some 7 accounts, like hotmails, two google accounts and, this is fundamental, one samsung account.
it has a valid IMEI and appears not been stolen (i contacted the girl some 10 days ago, still waiting for a reply)
well it contains also two emails from two guys who evidently bought this device and wrote to her trying to obtain samsung account's password
well, long story short: if i try to uncheck "remote functions" it prompts me with a password request (that samsung account)
the same password it ask me if i try "factory data reset". i tried subscribing another samsung account (success) but can't put in the phone (it says there is already one)
examples: i delete all images and music, accounts, various apps (some 7 gigabytes) and reboot: everythings returns in his place!
every file i put in the cell disappears if i reboot or if i "format USB storage"
in recovery mode i can't select sd-ext (to install firmware from ext-sd), tried put in DCIM but everything i put in disappears
tried various firmwares with ODIN and official update by kies: they complete successfully their work, but after reboot i have the device in the exact state it was the first time i turned it on:
lockscreen, images, music, videos, accounts, emails, apps returns there, nothing was really never changed nor deleted, everything i copied in the device simply disappeared.
this baffles me, as i read tons of forums and posts about it but everyone says you can factory reset, install firmware at will etc.
this is not the case, someone can help me?
i'm going to ask directly samsung if they can send me the "change password page", i'm running out ideas
well some news, the original owner of the cell emailed me: it isn't stolen nor lost, she sold it.
she gave me also the password (good!) for the samsung account, so i can remove "remote controls"
the password is valid and i can also access the corresponding account on (findmymobile), where there aren't any device registered.
i can delete all accounts on the device but two: this samsung account and one by googlemail.
the samsung account on the phone shows nothing, is empty, i can only select "delete account" but it says i can't because some apps blabla.
the google one is fully working, i mean it receives mail too, and is needed by some apps blabla, i can not delete.
my problem is actually the same described here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1474222)
i think there are only two possibilities:
1 somewhat similar to NAND RW corruption, hardware defect, probably unrecoverable
2 samsung account and/or googlemail accounts are gone ape**it and internal SD is kept in some "security" state i don't even know if one exists.
anyone please?
