[Q] Busybox apk refuses to work - HTC Droid DNA

I've unlocked my DNA, installed TWRP, flashed superuser, but I can't get the Busybox app you can download from the Play Store to work, and I can't find a Busybox for DNA .zip anywhere. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I've also searched around, and can' tfind any information on the problem.

Since you don't have a custom kernel you can't write to /system. So a variety of root apps won't work.

[Q] Samsung fascinate root help

Pleaz help!!
I rooted my fascinate with z4root. Then, I unrooted. Then, I noticed that my superuser was still there. I tried to delete it but couldn't. Then, I heard that u can delete it by rooting, so I tried to root it again. But for some reason, z4 keeps saying, you already have the such binary. Unable to root. I then tried to root using other programs on my computer with one click root program. That kept saying, unable to root device. Please help me delete the su or reroot my phone.
A few simple commands with an app called terminal emulator, free in market. Search YouTube for "fascinate remove root" for the commands

You can also set to stock using Odin. There is also a way to delete the root files using root explorer if you still have root access but I'm guessing not as that happened to be after the last update.

[Q] Rooted but cannot install busybox

i seem to be rooted but i cant install busybox!
Same problem. Current root not worked at full
If you install busybox through an installable zip via CWM it should survive a reboot. This seems to have worked for me, modifying the root fs from android seems to revert back every reboot.
fwiw, i used the zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903752

Can anyone confirm that this zip-file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903752
really work on a Desire X device on Stock Rom? I need really BusyBox, but I dont find a way to install it. Always error, if I use the App to install.
Yeah it works, already have it on my DX since it's out.
Works!
Works perfect!
Just flashed zip in CWM - reboot - voila: everthing runs as expected!
Thanks for your good work @ all devs at xda!

bussybox

what actually bussybox do to our devices.??
i havent installed this app still all the rootapps areworking great, so what really it does to our device

In a layman's lanaguage- busybox is a set of command line tools which is used by applications with root privilege to alter data on restricted partitions of system.
It's a must have for any rooted user who want to alter their device to their liking not usually allowed in stock ROMs.

cant install it
o have dsc rom with simplesu
while installing it says device not rooted
qhat to do.?

Use SuperSU instead of SimpleSU. As I explain in the Traveller DSC thread, SimpleSU's su binary isn't seen as a valid binary by certain apps. Stericson's Busybox installer is one of those apps.
You could also switch to Traveller DSC, as it uses SuperSU and includes a comprehensive busybox binary.
cant i just use some other app for it without changing the rom

You can install SuperSU from the Play Store (not recommended due to bugs in SuperSU 1.69), but you'll need to add SuperSU's package to SimpleSU's whitelist before SimpleSU will allow SuperSU to do its thing. In the Traveller DSC thread I do make a flashable zip of SuperSU 1.65 available to plug into /system, which is the best way to go. This will replace SimpleSU's binary and allow the Busybox installer to function. If you go this route, make sure to read the post regarding SuperSU.
Regardless of which way you install SuperSU, all apps requiring root will require that permissions be granted again, since you are changing both the su binary and the Superuser app.

Busybox Problem

I have rooted my M8, checked root run simple recovery operations like backups and don't seem to have any problems with my phone. Even my ISIS mobile wallet won't work because the device is rooted. But for some reason every time I try to install Busybox it fails. I've tried older versions different Busybox apps different storage locations and it just won't install. Sometimes it will download and automatically reboot my phone but the only thing that's different is one of my home screen s is changed around (apps missing). I just don't get it and am afraid to try and install a Rom or anything out of fear of screwing it up. The one thing I've tried that doesn't seem to work is the Xposed module for the Sense Toolbox which says it needs Busybox. I've been rooting for a while but would still consider myself somewhat of a noob. A y help would be greatly appreciated. Missing the simpler days of my Inspire and how easy everything was with that.

What method did you use to obtain root?
Have you verified root with any other apps?
You haven't hidden root by any chance, for instance in an attempt to make ISIS work?

One thing does come to mind, based on experience on one of my past devices:
I was having trouble getting Busybox to install on my old HTC Flyer. It was properly rooted, and couldn't find what else could be wrong.
I was trying the Stericson installer from the Play store (which is what I had usually one); but using the installer from JRummy did the trick.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.busybox.installer
Couldn't find any rhyme of reason for this, it just worked.
Used JRummys BBox installer.
All other apps that need root seem to work fine as long as they don't need BBox
Haven't tried to make ISIS work at all.

[Q] Trying to use "GLtools". Keep getting "Library building failed" during install.

[Q] Trying to use "GLtools". Keep getting "Library building failed" during install.
I have a rooted samsung galaxy tab 3, 4.4.2 kitkat, using TWRP.
I recently downloaded GLtools from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-gltools-1-29-t2828630
It's an .apk file and easily "installs" on the device. When I open up the program, I get to this screen: https://imgur.com/Td9BDWU
I check all 3 boxes. But when I click install or install using recovery, it says "Library building failed. Send crashlog to developer".
I have contacted the developer and am awaiting a reply (hopefully), but no where else have I seen this error.
I also tried to download a .zip version of Gltools and use the TWRP manager app to install it, but when I clicked "flash now", literally nothing happened.
I'm an android noob so any help is appreciated!
I have the same problem, have you managed to fix it?

Yes

In your superuser are supersu app have you checked to make sure GLtools has root permission if you do revoke permission going to clear the apps data and then grant permissions again
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
Actually, it never asked me to grant su to gltools, so it doesnt show up in chainfire supersu app list
Sent from my K018 using XDA Free mobile app
Wow okay I'm at a loss right now I can only think of 2 more things that might help you go into your customer recovery and use the fix permissions option and if that doesn't work I don't know if you're using a custom ROM but try using your stock rom
