Phone will not produce unlock code. Tried terminal but Vibrant will not go pass /is -ad. I think I flashed too many roms?!?!
I think the updates patch the hole the unlock program exploits. So its possible that you did.

That's why the second I saw that it was possible to unlock the phone, I got the unlock codes. You don't have to use them right away, but you should get them in case you ever need them.
Try "samsung galaxy s unlocker". I dont know what your trying to unlock with. this ^ is a market app that requires no terminal commands
Produces the unlock code and saves it to sd

Just call carrier and ask to provide you with the unlock code.. tell them that you travel out of the country and don't want to pay to much on international calls.. might take a couple days but at least you will always have the unlock code.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I forgot about calling the carrier. Thanks alot for you guys help! I had already tried the app but it still did not produce a code and asked if I had a Samsung Galaxy S phone. Disappointing that I couldn't do it myself.
Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting an Atrix 4G, and I wanted to know... does rooting your phone unlock it?
If not, how do you unlock the phone without having to go to some unreliable website??b

Rooting just gives you Admin rights to your device.
Unlocking it is a completely different thing. Most people buy an unlock code off of eBay...

cellunlock.net 15 bucks for a moto unlock, enter android50 as your coupon and it's 50% off!
I've unlocked 5 phones in the last month, some codes I got within an hour, one of them took just under 24 hours.
I noticed the other day that ATT now has a link on your account page that spits out the unlock code for free.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Never mind. I just reread the link and it was how to get a code to *UNBLOCK* the sim card, not unlock. I really should wear my glasses more often.

So does unlocking mean it unlocks the phone like a root, or does it mean you can use the phone on any carrier?

Is there any way to find the location of my phone? It was stolen and I just a dumb ass changed my gmail password right away so the person who stole it couldnt access my email.
Is there any way to track it now since google cant be synced with it??
I didnt install any tracking apps on my phone.......I am running 5.0 Inject Th3ry
Thanks guys I appreciate your help!
did you register for a sense account?
sense online does not work with the thunderbolt yet...
I thought lookout had a way to push the app to your phone to track it?
If you signed up for Verizon's TEC insurance via Asurion, I believe you get a phone finder service with that. Don't know how accurate it is though. www.phoneclaim.com Best of luck!

If all else fails. Call verizon, tell them it's lost. Call back every day to see if they placed any phone calls. If they did, call the numbers they called. Verizon can provide you with that info. Disadvantage of that, is they can use your phone to buy things or make expensive calls. But if you keep an eye on verizon's history, you should be able to control that if it gets out of hand.
One time my phone was stolen and I was able to find the guy that stole it because his dad was one of his recent calls. Turns out papa was very disappointed haha! I got my phone back and he got a beating.
Go to the android market on you pc and install Lookout Plan B on you lost phone. It will track it.

Umm, yes it does. If your running a ROM with it and your signed into HTC Sense. There is an option under the Location settings called Phone finder.
If it is checked you can go to www.htcsense.com, sign in and it will track your phone. I just tried before posting this to make sure.
That sucks but you hopefully had phone finder on

You can't change a Gmail password with a phone. You have to know the old password to change and it has to be done online. They probably factory reset the phone so u won't be able to track it anyway

I think the OP stated he changed the password himself which would then make Plan B no good since it cannot access the market

Just suspend the phone and black the esn so they can't use it. I hope you have insurance

Why don't you change your Google Account password back to what it was previously, then install Plan B from the market website. It will push to your phone so long as it's still trying to sync.

that's weird because when I try to sign up, the thunderbolt is not a choice when choosing your device.

Because stock, it isn't. But, for example, BAMF 3.0 rc4.9 uses it. And it works with the site.

There's a hacked .apk here that will work on stock ROMs (might have to be rooted). You sign up with your device set as a Desire HD. I'm running it on my stock OTA MR2 rooted ROM.

Just got my 64GB One today and instantly went to HTCDev's website and chose "Other Devices".
Was able to retrieve an unlock code but can't seem to get the phone unlocked.
From what I've gathered, this should take mere seconds.
Is it possible that ATT might have blocked my phone already before shipping out?
I've attached a screenshot.
Bump. Any ideas?

If you have your unlock code you are fine. What are you using to unlock the device?
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Correct so far I have 3 sent to me. I'm just using cmd and following htcdev instructions.
So far every attempt has the unlock code stuck.
Is the another method whe're I can apply the unlock code besides cmd

UPDATE: Tried it on a windows vista desktop vs a windows 7 laptop and got it to work.
Thanks guys for trying to help I really appreciate it. Now to root and add recovery!
**I claim no responsibility for what you do with this knowledge...**
Instead of going through the Manufacturers process, just go into your settings, and then go to "About Phone" and continuously click (7x's) the "Build Number" at the bottom of that menu..
It will open up a "Developer Options" menu, within that, there is an option to unlock the bootloader, thereby bypassing that step towards rooting your Moto E.
Is this for all moto e's

Try it, Why Not.
I have a white one thru Boost Mobile, It was on a whim I decided to try it, and when I came across the option, I definitely used it. It came with a second dialog screen warning me about unlocking risks and legal warning type things. There were no Ill effects, but since i have no computer of my own, I cannot really go any further in the rooting process.
K cause mine is through straight talk with I ordered and be here tomarrow

as far as I know, you have to perform this step just to be able to unlock the bootloader. By itself it doesn't unlock it.
K.I'll find out tomorrow..ty

They never mention this step in any of the Rooting Forums I have seen.
It appears to be for the newer model? http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-moto-e-2015-t3045748
Not that I appreciate this integration between bootloader and OS (or rather, an app for that OS!!)...
