Boot loop on 5.0 - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

I have a Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 (YP-G70CWY) and used it for a few weeks until I got the itch to root and install a new rom. I successfully rooted and installed RemICS-UX Electric Catfish. I like the rom but the camera is a deal breaker given my needs unfortunately (the tablet mode was a great experience).
In my attempt to revert back to the stock rom something happened. I used Odin and successfully installed a new pit file along with the related tar. I have since done it many more times using different roms. However, with each successful Odin message the player reboots it shows the boot animation with sound and then enters into a boot loop.
I have read every post I could find on fixing boot loop for the Galaxy Player 5.0. I have carefully applied each solution without success.
Any help would be so greatly appreciated. I have rooted tablets and phones and run custom roms without problems. I am not an expert but by no means am a noob. However, I have met my match with this Player!
Thank you in advance for you time.

you need to boot into recovery (just hold power + vol up until samsung logo) and wipe data and cache. then the bootloop will (should) magically go away!
PS, have you tried cm10 or PA-JB? The camera preview is kind of messed up but it still takes pictures perfectly fine (just remember to set focus to infinity first). PA-JB has a Hybrid engine that allows you to choose not only between phone and tablet mode, but also phablet (aka nexus 7) mode!

Not trying to put down PA, but I get Gallery, PA Preferences, and random app FCs on all three times I've tried the ROM. If this is just me, I'll shut up, but that's why I stick to CM10

When I resolve this problem I will give both cm10 and PA-JB a chance. I just need a daily driver. Bluetooth and the camera are essential. I use Bluetooth wtih U-Connet in my car and the camera for Evernote. I can deal with a few shortcomings just not these two features.

That is a picture of a forced download mode. Re-flash with Odin, and try going to recovery again. If you need both Bluetooth and camera, unfortunately you will have to stay on gingerbread for now.

That was easy. Thank you so very much. Next time I will put my pride aside a few hours earlier.
Looks like I am sticking with gb for now. Any suggestions on the best gb rom? I will probably try them all. Just hoping to avoid some unnecessary effort. I already made the mistake in upgrading without proper research and look where that got me
Thanks in advance to any suggestions!

Probably not the right topic, but my answer isn't based on fact and/or experience with CM9 - for good reasons, I don't do betas, ever - so we're quits...
Haven't read your post history, but you seem to be yet another new guy who is flashing an unstable beta ROM without previous experience and/or knowledge.
I can't for the life of me understand why inexperienced people do this. Presume there's some overriding urge to have The NextBigThingCoolLolzz on the phone...
DON'T!!!.
Read every sticky here, read every FAQ. If you think you understand - you don't. Read, read and read again.
Think you've got it it? You haven't. Read some more.
Then - and only then - try and flash a 2.3.6, never an ICS. If that goes well, read and read and read.
Then you're ready to take the consequences of flashing beta buggy ROMs (and that's what they are - could use stronger terminology, but I respect the devs..), and you can't say you haven't done your research etc.
Nothing personal. You're just diving into the deep end with lead-filled boots. Never going to end well, yes?

Flash back to stock. You clearly have no business flashing such an immature ROM, because you are apparently not equipped to deal with any issues that arise from using it.
Only used this once, but I now feel the need to bookmark it...

SCH-i500 Bricked

Hello everyone; I've been desperately attempting to get CM7 installed on my Samsung Fascinate since its release, and I have been unable to do so despite it being 'so very easy'. Today I had installed CM10 on my HP touchpad with zero issues, so I decided to attempt to install CM7 on my Fascinate again.
While following this tutorial (http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/32474-cyanogenmod-7-for-the-samsung-fascinate-v710-9-oct-2011/) I came across a step that 'bricked' my phone. Below are the steps that I was required by the tutorial to take:
Root the device and install ClockworkMod Recovery. Instructions are available here.
My phone had been previously rooted; I purchased, downloaded and flashed ClockworkMod Recovery onto my phone successfully.
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
I elected NOT to do a NANDroid backup; my phone was cluttered and I decided that if things wen't wrong, I'd like to reboot into a factory reset phone and re-root from scratch (where inlies my issues).
Format the system, data & cache partitions of your device.
I did, successfully.
Perform a factory reset.
This is the last step in which I was able to complete (for obvious reasons) after the factory reset was complete, however, I was UNABLE to get into download mode to be able to finish the ClockworkMod Recovery (all files for CM7 are still on my SD card ready to go). However, upon rebooting my phone I've noticed that my home screen manager does NOT function, and I am unable to navigate within my phone. It does NOT launch when I hit my home button, and I've been unable to do anything else with my phone.
Flash CyanogenMod.
I was unable to get to this step.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.
I was unable to get to this step.
Being a tech geek, I would not open a thread unless I've exhausted all options at my disposal; A quick Google search resulted in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1026746) in which I was sure I'd be able to get my phone working again. However, the files associated with it (EB01All in 1) are no longer hosted at the links provided. An extensive Google search yielded no results.
What I'd like to be able to do is to get my phone operational to the point where I can continue with the installation of CM7. Any and all help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
I would use section 4 of that guide by droidstyle
And flash a jelly bean 4.2.x Rom

From what I can gather by your post, you're suggesting that I use section 4 of this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17050028
In which I would not be able too, considering almost all of the pertinent files that were uploaded for use cannot be found, and are no longer hosted. Anything else?
=========================
Update:
By some sort of miracle I was able to get my phone into download mode by using the SDK command; as of now I'm loading up CI500_VZW_EH03_GB_CM.tar.md5 as you've suggested. I'll update this post again once the process is complete.

okay so, why did you root the phone? that was an extra step that was unneeded. you just had to flash cwm_fix_cm7 or whatever and then boot into cwm and flash cm7. also, I'd flash EH03, that's gingerbread, you don't have to go back all the way to EB01 or whatever, no need to. and lastly, you shouldn't of factory reset it. it sounds to me like you have soft bricked it, does it boot up, even with errors? if you can bout it, try powering it off and then take out the battery and the SD card, then hit the vol - and power and it should boot into download mode. (also put the usb into the port and phone before) but like hhp said I'd go read droidstyles guide
What I don't get is why you'd want to use CM7 when there's a ton of great 4.2 roms available for the Fascinate (including CM10.1) that run very nicely

[Q] Issues! Solution - New ROM or Clean Wipe?

Hello!
A question for you knowledgeable people.
I am traveling and has recently had all sorts of problems with my S2.
- Some are resolved, but others are recurring despite resets.
I am very dependent on the device as I use it's hotspot feature as my primary and only internet solution.
For a while I was keen on installing a custom ROM. Especially after CyanogenMod released their installer for dummies. However, I am traveling with a Macbook and Mac/OS X support is not available yet .
I'm not really in need of the latest features.
I dislike bloat wares, am tired of all the little bugs, the GPS seems to malfunction sometimes, I have 3 batteries yet the battery life is poor and the RAM memory is allocated quickly so the phone becomes slow.
I like Google's new photo app (supporting photo sphere) so I would be happy if it worked fluently. In addition, the phone restarts itself every now and then, after which the battery reports 1-10% battery life and slowly grows, even though it might be fully charged.
Now to the question:
Can an alternative ROM improve my experience? If so tips on which?
Is there alternatively anything else I can do, besides just restoring?
Perhaps something that will wipe everything followed by a complete clean install with the Stock ROM?
I do not know how optimized the recovery feature is. From experience I know however that after a couple of Windows Restores it is often in place with a clean install.
Ideas and tips are warmly appreciated!
If you wish to wipe everything and keep the stock rom, you can reboot into recovery mode (Hold down volume up, home and lock button at the same time upon booting), and navigate to wipe data/factory reset.
In regards to custom roms improving experience, there are many different types to choose from, as well as many different kernels to choose to perhaps improve battery. Head over to http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2#romList and start exploring!
Rom recommendations are forbidden here due to being ridiculously subjective (I.E your experience with a rom will not be the same as mine). AMcGavin's suggestion to have a look at a rom list/head over to the development sections & read some rom threads is a good one.

Thank you! In such a case (if I do the *wipe data/factory reset*) - Do I then need to download the stock ROM as a separate file, or is those files being kept on another partition?
I also saw a big warning message on CyanogenMod's Wiki - That some devices bricked after doing so from Stock ROM. Is that something I should be careful about?

Is this relevant to the wipe/factory reset -procedure that we are talking about?
Thanks a bunch!
That brick happens mostly with ICS 4.0.4, but you should take care nonetheless, as the warning says install CM first without wiping anything and then go to recovery and wipe.
But after installing CM I would have changed the bootloader from original to Clockwerk, right? Do I still have that option there?
Sorry, I'm new in this jungle. Looking at the ROM list is even more confusing in terms of making a decision. CM seems to be a bigger one so I'll give it a go.

Clockwork recovery can still perform a factory reset.
Keep in mind that once you install a custom rom, doing a factory reset does not reset it to a factory image, so to speak. It won't go back to stock, just the factory settings of the custom rom. To go back to stock from here would require you to reflash it back on.

No. Recommending roms is forbidden for the reason I mentioned in my post on the first page. This thread will be closed soon.

Recommending, best Rom, anything along those lines can cause offence to the developers, cause heated debates and everyone has different opinions, therefore, this thread type is not permitted on XDA.
Thank you

Hi Everybody,
I was trying to install a new version of cyanogenmod that held kitkat, worked, but heres the problem. After installing the new rom i wanted to put a different kernel. This specific kernel I wanted was not compatible with kitkat, but i wasn't reading, so when it was booting up it was stuck at the Galaxy S Cyanogenmod booting screen. I turned it off and put the device in cwm recovery. I was going to put the right kernel for the device but the SD wound't mount. I looked for a solution, which led me to odin. When I started flashing the status was frozen at nand start write. So I stupidly unplugged it, so now I am greeted with a Phone+!+PC please help me!

Without seeing a picture of the screen, I'm going to have to assume the screen is a blue color with a picture of a computer on it.
If so, that's not a problem at all. That screen is basically the same thing as ODIN/Download mode.
With your device on that screen simply replug in your USB cable and reflash with ODIN.
If you could provide a picture of the screen, I could definitely say for sure that your device is good to go, or not.

If you're talking about this above, then do as Higgs_Boson said above. This is just a force download mode, and happens when you improperly flash something.

[Q] Soft Bricked Nexus 4

Hi there, first of all I need to say that I'm sorry if I started this topic in the wrong section, second of all sorry for my english. Hope that I will be undrestood.
On my Nexus 4, I was running CM 11 custom ROM, and I've heard about the brand new one named Lollipop 5.0 . I've found Mako build for that new ROM and tryed to flash it via Rom Manager (Play Store). It runned smoth without any issues even if it's just an alpha release. But one day I've checked my storage tab, seen there that almost half of entire memory it was full, and I didn't had than just a few low space requiered apps. I tough about it and I realised that Lollipop ROM was installed OVER CM 11, of course not the ROM by itself but even if it wiped all data before to install the Lollipop, all junk stuff from CM 11 remain there.
So i wanted to reinstall a fresh copy of that Lollypop by using Nexus Toolkit.
Things would have been fine if my computer suddenly restarted while processing the flashing ROM, right after it wiped everything or something like that. Bad luck, huh?
So now I've got a soft bricked Nexus 4, where bootloader apparently still works but without recovery wich now it's replaced by and android dead icon and over that big red triangle, and when pressing the correct combination of volume + power buttons should give me fastboot, instead of that I'm stuck on "Download Mode". One more thing I forgot to mention, If I'll boot up device and run straight without pressing nothing, it will pop out the Google loading screen and it will stuck there, doing nothing.

I've read many threads about how to unbrick devices. Still got no answer because they refer at other soft brick posibilities, that includes pushing backups or what requires to simply flash them by fastboot or ADB, the problem here is that those posibilities will be great if I CAN get acces to my phone, what that means is I cannot run "USB debugging" to get my device being recognized by computer in this dead stage. Even my drivers are installed and "Download Mode" is active where should, as I read, grant me the acces to device even if it's not waked up completely. And second option to unbrick it leads me to the recovery mode (wich is dead) and restore from there a previous backup, and even if I had access to it, I DON'T have a backup.
So the big question for you guys about this annoying mishap: "Is there still a possibility to push files from computer to device, or I need to visit an authorized service?"
Thank you in advance. Peace.
