[Q] HTC One S - bootloop and won't load into CMW - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
First thread ever.
So today I updated from CM10 to CM10.1 using the built in updating tool. I got stuck in a boot loop - I did have CMW installed but it won't load - however I can get to fastboot. I've found an RUU I think will work but I don't know how to get it onto my phone as I don't can't access CMW and even when I could I think I had unmounted the SD card.
I'm using a HTC One S so no removable SD card.
Any help appreciated I'm at my wits end.

plug the phone into your computer while in fastboot mode get adb tools and your cwm recovery image. put the recovery image into your adb folder that contains the fastboot command.
open the command prompt on your pc. go to the directory containing the fastboot command. then type without semi colens "fastboot flash recovery "nameofyourcwmrecovery.img""
after done select recovery in fastboot mode by highlighting it with your vol buttons then press the power button.
at this point you should be back in cwm if you have a backup, restore it. or have a rom to flash on your memory flash it. if you have neither search how to sideload a rom.

[Q] Recovery & Flashboot issues. help is appreciated [SOLVED]

First off id like to say thanks in advance to any replies and also apologize if this has been posted previously (i searched and could not find anything that was helpful) I lurked around these forums when i had my x1 and im hoping you guys can be as helpful for me as you are for everyone else. anyway onto the issue
I used the superboot method to root my ATT US Streak. My intentions were to update to 2.1 following the steps in the "eclair working on my u.s. unlocked streak!" thread (wont let me put a link since its my first post)
after using fastboot to root the phone will boot up and function fine but recovery and fastboot no longer work. i tried flashing Koush's custom recovery and other things that require fastboot and the terminal just says "sending..." nothing happens no errors or anything, the cmd prompt just sits there and i need to remove the battery to reboot the device.
i then downloaded the Rom Manager apk from the market and flashed the clockwork recovery from there (it said i did anyway). when i load the recovery from boot (volume keys + power and its the stock recovery) and chose option 2 to flash modaco custom rom or even the stock dell rom it just goes to a black screen and i once again need to remove the battery to reboot.
the phone itself is still functioning fine when it boots up and everything works the way it should other than the home, menu, and back button lights flash in random orders, thats just annoying though. again any help is appreciated
so what should i try next?
EDIT: woke up this morning and now the device will not turn on. i tried starting to fastboot and recovery but still nothing. plug it into my pc and i get the "found new hardware wizard" for a Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM.
first real brick? ha that would be my luck
EDIT 2: a kid just ran through my work, grabbed my phone and threw it on the ground. it screwed up the 30 pin connector on the phone and the charger. im going to hurt somebody. phone is booting again though... put sd card back in and still boots fine
SOLVED: Dont know the technical reasons behind it but i had to reinstall the drivers and switch usb ports for every fastboot and recovery procedure
removed SD card and its booting up normally. any thoughts?

Asus Transformer Recovery Stuck

Hi guys,
I installed viperMOD PrimeTime froma guide on Redmond Pie.
Anyway after doing it im stuck in the CWM-Based Recovery v 5.5.0.4 every time it reboots.
Anyway i try restarting it and holding down the volume buttons to get into the standard recovery mode it isnt even there.. I tried installed the loop fix on a SD card but the CWM does not even pick up the card have tried different ones.
Tried Nvflash but a screen flashes quickly and then goes again..
I can get the device in APX mode what can i do from here? Please i dunno what i did wrong but i followed that guide from Redmond and now its stuffed.
Any help pleaseee
Do you have the prime or the regular TF?
cwm5504 doesn't see the external sdcard, you have to use the internal sdcard- either boot into the rom and copy it over, or use adb and push it to the internal card.
I'm not sure what the loop fix is and why you need the sdcard for it, but did you see this thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1530337
nvflash will work, but you need the correct sbk. for the tf101, it's serial numbers below b70. I don't know squat about the tf201.
Ok so i followed Dimondblacks guide and managed to stop it from entering the recovery menu. Now i can get to the 3 symbols page (USB,Android,Wipe) I have tried all 3 and still dosnt boot.
If i let the device boot as normal now it just hangs ont he asus logo screen... Now someone said use recovry menu to flash a rom but no SD card i use will make the recovery pick it up. Is there anyway to access the internal memory and place the update there?
What does fast boot do?
Thankyou for the reply!
Its a transformer prime
How do i push it to the internal sd card? what are the commands. i have tried to follow.. So does that mean i can download the update file and just push it onto the internal memory?
DO i have to put the update on the sd card first then adb it to the internal memory?
Never mind it seems to be bricked with unrecoverable bootloader error
ffs
There is a transformer prime forum, did you try posting there?
Good luck

[Q] Possibly Bricked HTC One/ Loop Load / Noob Fail

So I was able to successfully unlock the bootloader on my HTC One (Tmobile). I then tried to root it and install the CWM recovery, but that's where things went awry. Somehow (I think) I ended up installing the CWM Recovery as my boot instead of my recovery and now the phone will only boot into CWM. I can't get back into bootloader mode and my computer (I'm using a mac) wont recognize my device. I'm somewhat familiar with using terminal. Is there a way to salvage this mess? I attempted to push something back onto the device but the computer wont recognize it so I'm not sure where to go from here. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
So when you hold down the volume and power button, it will skip the bootloader menu and go straight into cwm. Can you even boot into android?

[Q] Incredible 4g LTE stuck at HTC Splash Screen

I have previously rooted my phone and put a cyanogen 10.1 rom onto it. Last night I did a factory reset on my phone and rebooted, following the reboot it came back on and worked appropriately. I then rebooted again and it got stuck at the HTC splash screen with the green letters and red warning statement at bottom. I tried to reboot into recovery and it did not work. I also pulled the battery and still got stuck. When I connect the phone to my computer via USB it makes a noise saying the computer recognizes a devices was connected however it doesn't show up in my explorer.

I believe through the recovery mode, i did a factory reset to get rid of all my info then then it worked and then I rebooted again and it doesn't work. I can't get past the initial splash screen that says htc quietly brilliant then "this build is for development purposes only...blabla"

Are you sure?
1) Battery pull
2) Hold volume-down + power button simultaneously until phone vibrates, then continue holding volume-down and release power button

Ok...weird, I plugged phone into computer and let it charge back up, while charging I check ADB Devices and it shows my device in Recovery. I was able to get it to the Fastboot screen however from here I can only get to bootloader screen..it will not go to recovery.
Also...when its in fastboot/bootloader my computer cannot communicate with it.

*UPDATE*
(ps. thank you all for offering to help)
I am able to get to hboot and twrp recovery now. I was able to push rom files to it however when i try to install i get an error. It isn't finding my SD Card. I am going to try a new card and see if that works.Apparently I lost my OS so hopefully a new SD Card will work and I can install the rom.
I will update if I have any more issues. Thanks.
I got everything back up and running with the cyanogen 10.1 rom however I am getting an error when trying to use my camera saying there isn't any internal storage on the device. My SDCard is up and working but the phones internal storage isn't being recognized.....thoughts?

Internal storage is not accessible by ROM or recovery
This rarely happens and unfortunately only seems to be remedied by formatting the internal storage:
Restart the phone to recovery and connect the USB cable to a Windows computer
In recovery, use the mount USB feature:
TWRP: Mount > Mount USB Storage
When Windows informs you that it needs to format the drive in order to recognize it, go ahead and format it as FAT32
After the format is complete, use the safe eject feature in Windows followed by unmounting the USB storage in recovery
Your /sdcard partition should now be accessible

I actually saw this on the install page for this rom and tried it. when i mount my sdcard it doesnt prompt me to format however I did it anyway and it still hasn't remedied the situation. I have attempted to start over and do it all again but the same thing happens. i will try again tomorrow and maybe ill have a different result.

[HELP][URGENT]Boot up problem!

So, i installed A LOT of custom roms on my gs3, and the last one screwed it up, so i got android 5.1.1 on my gs3 and when it tried to boot up (after optimizing apps stuff...) it just stopped at "Finishing Boot" and it stayed like that for couple of hours, then since i don't have a power button to enter download mode i made my own homemade usb jig and got my gs3 in download mode and i got it back to stock, then it stopped at samsung logo and it was just booting like that whole night. Then i tried diffrent versions of stock roms, kernels, even new pit file, still nothing. So i've read on couple of forums that i need to enter recovery mode and wipe data & cache(but odin does that automatically right ?) and i can't enter recovery mode cause i have a broken power button(and no i can't connect wires cause when i got rid of the power button i accidentally pulled out one of the connectors). So how can i enter recovery without a power button if i can't boot up the phone ? Or is there any other fix ? Or it's dead ?
P.S I can't take it to service no warranty + binary count is 14 and i can't reset it without my phone booted up.
No power, no phone. It's that simple. Fix the power button and then you can boot it up. No other way possible.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.
you could try thru usb then adb command: fastboot reboot recovery (if i remember correctly)
edit: just read you can't even turn it on

go to this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development/adb-fb-apx-driver-universal-naked-t1379875
download the driver, install once while gs3 booted, then in download mode install the driver again - while phone is connected
i haven't been able to get a "fastboot devices" respond while in download mode, maybe i'm not doing it right
the driver supposed to support galaxy s3 international with adb and fastboot

installing the drivers only need any gs3 but since it's stuck on logo only, you can't do anything.
i thought you said you have a home-made jig to boot into download mode
Odin don't wipe data and cache automatically. I had bootloop problem after flashing stock too you have to get to recovery anyway you can and format cache and data from there. As I know you can flash files through odin with your home-made USB jig. So there are some recovery zips that will boot into recovery directly after flashing them. You can either find one of them or you can ask someone to edit one of the recovery zips for you. The final way I can think about is adb. You can go to download mode with your USB and then you can use adb. Give adb this command. Adb reboot recovery and it will reboot to recovery. If I helped you in any case press the ? tnx button.
