Your life is going to be hard with out gapps. You should probably look around for a "minimal version gapps", just make sure it is for JB 4.1.2. If you don't like the "people" app that comes with gapps, you will still probably need some version of gapps just for the Play.store so you can find and download a replacement.
You could export the contacts from google's internet site to a file on your pc and import them on phone again. But that's no sync
1.flash gapps
2.sync
3.backup contacts to sd card (optional)
4.remove gapps

playstore is "phonesky.apk" If u want, don't delete it.

That mod works on the stock camera... You must have the SemcCameraUI.apk (stock camera app) installed to use it...
Now since you don't have the stock camera apk...
You need to install it again to use camera... With cybershot mod
Or you can install any other 3rd party camera app

Guys, i never flash gapps on CM 9 on my sola, but that way i dont have Google play. I have it installe as apk, but it doesnt work.
Which is the best way to have at least the market without other google apps?

I will try, if you find the link please share cause its dificult on the phone.
I tried adding in system/app and set permission doesnt work, it crashes that way.

U could try one thing
Download the gapps cwm zip
Download 7zip
Right click on gapps zip and open via 7zip
Go to sytem > app and then delete all except google play
Let me knw if this works or if u get a status 6 error
If not then I will modify the updater script for u and upload it for u

I try this ROM Xperia Sola and it has only Video recording bug(same as CM 10) ,Don't know about Xperia U

Today I will share with you the stock Google SMS/MMS 4.0.4 apk.
If you are like me and you totally hate the Sony ICS and JB sms app, this is for you!
It work for sure with stock ICS by Sony and maybe with stock JB by Sony, so tell me.
*Bugs: nothing
*Very smooth!
*Install instructions :
(You must be rooted)
-Download any root uninstaller and uninstall the stock sms app.
-Download a root browser, go to /system/app and delete (if there are these) mms.apk, semcmms.apk or anything who has a link with the stock sms app but normally you have nothing to delete here.
-Download "mms.apk" on your SD card
-copy and paste it to /system/app
-set corrects permissions (r-w-r-r or 644)
-reboot to CWM and wipe cache and dalvik-cache
-reboot
-Enjoy!
