Shadowgun Deadzone and Bluetooth controller request - Galaxy Note II Themes and Apps

Hey All,
If anyone has experience playing SG: DZ with any Bluetooth controller please let me know. I'm on stock and lost my root during an OTA 4.1.2 update. Sixaxis is out for the time being, but I'd surely grab a comperable alternative.
I have a MacBook Pro so I'm SOL to re-root until Enyxos Abuse gets updated.
Thank you

Or buy the dock, root, then take it back. There is no restocking fees for returned accessories at corporate stores.

or go to a sprint store and use the hd station display to root your phone. I did it after someone else in another post made a tinyurl to download the appropriate file. It's really simple. Can't wait to use my ps3 controllers! Hope games like shadowgun come with the capability built in but i doubt it.
It just hangs on mine with the Sixaxis compatibility checker (yes I'm rooted). Are you on MR3 ?

Dock-less root now possible
Has anyone got this to work on our phones yet?
I am rooted. I can get the controller to pair, and I can get the controller to dump the mapped keys into text boxes, but not in any emulator.
The stranger part is that I can map the keys in Gameboid, Snesoid, and PSX4Droid using the controller itself (so I know the emulator is reading it) but once I go to the game I get 0 response from the controller.
Just kidding. Had to enable bluetooth controllers in other settings. Confirmed working 100%

Had it working mint for the past few weeks
Just had a system update (45.2.7) and now it doesn't
When I try to start it, now it says "permission denied"
If I stop and start it, it says "ps3 remote wants to pair, please initiate using phone"
when I try to sync from my phones bluetooth settings it asks for a pin and then times out
gonna try uninstalling and going through the setup procedure again when I have time, just wondering if anyone else had this problem
ETA- just checked out the update thread, turns out I lost root, meh
Did you reroot?
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
Not yet, I have tuesday off so I'll mess around with it then and post what I needed to do to get it working again
Hopefully it's just a re-root
Eta- just needed to root it again, works fine
to get root again will take all of about 4 mins, but if you erased your settings then youll have to do all that work again. but im glad to find out this phone has a nice enough bt stack to work with it. anyone try playing minecraft with it?
can anybody tell me which emulators support the ps3 controller

using ps3 controller with s1

Without rooting his xoom I saw a guy using a ps3 controller to play an emulator. He did have to use an otg cable but did not root his device. I tried connecting a mouse successfully but the ps3 didn't work. It does power on though. Any ideas?
Hmmmmmm. Well, the Sony tab runs the same os (3.1+) as the xoom. So, the otg cable should work fine. Though, it is only for a select amount of apps that support controller mapping. Now, connecting via bluetooth will not work. As far as I know, but if you're rooted an app like 'sixaxis' will allow for the dual shock via bluetooth! Now, seeing as this tablet has an ir port... the wii mote could be paired!!! There is an app in the market called 'wiimote'. Its free too!

I tried my ps3 controller but failed. I ordered a logitech one so I'll give an update tomorrow. Damned Sony!!!!
I picked up an inexpensive PS3 controller too. No luck with the playstation games on the S.

Gamers?

Well thought I might help some people who may be interested in turning their phone into a mobile gaming device currently I have set up Super gnes from market. On my evo 3d but the fun comes with better game play using my ps3 controller to play. Alot smoother than using touch screen controls if interested let me know. Must be rooted with AOSP rom first I'm currently using miui. And yes I'm sure alot of you may already know but we were all noobs at one point so this threads for you guys if interested

If you buy the Sixaxis controller app you can pair your ps3 control with your phone.
It can be used but before buying the app get the free pairing tool and must have an aosp rom currently does not work with sense so cm7 or miui are your best bets if you find it does work about $6 in the market and your ready to go $2 for siaxis controller application and $4 for snes emulator there is a free version of emulator but it doesn't have as many features plus I like to stay updated

Well I'm also a father and student so I will try and stay as up to date with those who would like help as I can so first steps always backup make a nand back up and find a aosp rom I recommend miui then get the free sixaxis application from market and read the directions in the application you will need a pc to change your controlers Bluetooth address don't worry your control will still work with your ps3 however make sure your ps3 is off when changing the address otherwise it will keep trying to connect to your ps3 rather than your phone. Will check in tomorrow to see what else I can help with for now try that out and goodnight

the Infamous Youzh's emu apps are still free if you want to take a look (except the N64, but $5 is way worth it.)
https://slideme.org/user/yongzh
For the record I installed snesoid, gensoid, and nesoid (Google to find cause they were pulled from the market, I had purchased these prior btw but had to hunt them down) and the sixaxis app was like $1.79, and as mentioned the pairing tool is free. Works flawlessly on Miui...

Nice contribution, thank you sirs. I didn't know this, will take a look later.
I have run the paired sixaxis with my 3d and my transformer. great time passer

Will this work for most other games like Gameloft, Glu, Unity games?
Good question haven't tried yet as my time is very limited but I can look into it unless some one else already has. I will be the first to say I'm not the best at anything here just trying to help where I feel I can everything I know has been someone else's exploits that I taught myself through reading and you tube, and lemme tell ya YouTube can be your best friend when in a bind

nou, because gameloft games not have the option to "key mappings" ( ) but shadowgun had that option and i heard someone playing it with ps3 controller on evo3d

Do any Bluetooth controllers work?

I recently found out that wiimotes unfortunately don't work with galaxy players, because of samsung's proprietary Bluetooth stack (I hate how Samsung messes up the best features of android!). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has better success with any other game controllers, particularly ps3 controllers? Or are our players fully incompatible with any game controller?

I have tried the ps3 controller and it works fine just download the sixaxis controller app from the market and the pair tool from their website http://www.dancingpixelstudios.com/sixaxiscontroller/tool.html
Run the app, look and the little number on the bottom after you push start then copy them down
go to your computer run the pair tool and copy the number from your phone to there and click update
ps3 controller should now be able to connect to your galaxy player
Great! Do you have to use the PC every time you want to use your controller with your galaxy player, or is it a one time step?

I assume if you only use the control for the Galaxy Player your fine. But sense I'm always using it for multiple devices i alway have to do it.

Hmm, I remember using the sixaxis compatibility check a while ago while I was still stock, and it showed I was compatible, but now I tried it on klin's icy fusion, and it gets stuck at "can't bind pipe for device". Do you get that problem, or is something wrong with my device?

Hmm, okay I found an older version of the compatibility checker off slideme, and it says I am compatible! So have you tried the latest version of the compatibility checker? I wonder if that would mean the latest version of the actual app wouldn't work as well?

Well, the app was just updated to fix the error, so problem solved! One thing I am not certain about is this; I have read that if you buy a brand new ps3 controller, it will need to be paired to a ps3 before you can use it with this app. Now, I don't have a ps3, but could I buy a used ps3 controller that has already been paired to someone's ps3 and would that work?

I doubt it I see no reason that it needs to be paired with the ps3 when you connect a control to a ps3 it only gets the bluetooth address so you can use it with the console.
And beside you'll be changing that anyways with your computer. I doubt you'll need a ps3. I and if I'm wrong return the controller back.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe a new remote has to be activated by a ps3 console or something though, who knows. I'll probably buy a used one anyway, since new ones cost a crazy amount of money, and it sounds like few third-party remotes work.

I'll never use any third party controller since I got a black ops controller and it sucked had a huge dead spot on the analog stick.

yea??
you just really want a moga?
a shield is basically a moga and a crappy android phone.
i liked using a sixaxis ps3 controller and a gameklip but i havent tried on the note 3. worked on note 2 and s4.
you should even be able to stream this out to a tv fairly easily.

The shield has full pc game streaming feature from pc to the shield. That's what I'm looking for not just tv streaming psx or n64emu stuff.

With the splashtop streamer app and a fast enough connection (LAN) you could stream your pc games.
As for the controller... Perhaps any compatible bluetooth keyboard/controller. I used a game gripper with the Epic 4G but that had a hardware keyboard.

Thanks I use Team viewer because it's full free. See I was wondering how the shield communicated for pc games that don't map out a controller automatically. like does it have a built in keyboard software app to map out the buttons?
