Like the title asks. How do I reset a gen8?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Make sure the device is switched off. Hold down the “volume down” button and switch on your archos. Keep "volume down" button pressed until you see the white recovery menu.
Use Volume Up and Down buttons to move in the menu, Power button to make a selection. Choose "Format system" then "Reset Android"
Hope it helps.
Thanks, I figured that's how you get into recovery.

You could try this I don't know if it works but turn it of then hold the power button and volume up at the same time when the Samsung logo appears let the power button go and hold the volume up until the thing with like a bin and an android coming out (I don't remember the picture) use volume up and down to scroll and home button to select scroll to where it says something like wipe data (not cache) and press the home button and it should do a reset

Does anyone have a tweak or MOD that allows you to hold the menu button and something come up? As Sony Ericsson devices don't have a search button, I would really like to hold the Menu button to search.
Currently, on stock ROM, holding the menu button brings up keyboard(on LWW and others with onscreen keyboard).
Ah, I see you have Mini Pro.
I read about the remapping keys by long press and according to me, it was not possible yet on Xperia's. I am not sure right now, if I see/hear something, I will let you know.
On mini Pro just open the (HW) keyboard on the home screen and start typing. These are the search keys.

If you hold the home button, recent apps will appear. Not sure if you already knew that, tough

Of course I know that. Duh it's just that holding the home button to open recent apps is not comfortable, the button is too hard to press. Maybe its just me though

Just a quick question, how do you take a screenshot on the AOKP rom?

Hold down the power button and volume-down button at the same time should do the trick!
Awesome thanks!

I didn't know about the power+vol down shortcut, thanks!
I enabled the screen shot through the power menu:
1. Settings>ROM Control>Power menu options> check the 'show screenshot' box
2. When you hold the power button, select screenshot
3. ????
4. Profit
Holding power+vol down doesn't work. Below is correct.

I spent three days with this ROM, and how not find the button, I had to download the Trial Screenshot PlayGoogle, since we could not ask on the topic of AOKP. Thank you for answers.

Search yes they can power + vol down or power + home

Just tried it. Push power button and then tap Home.
You can also do it by holding down the power button and the down volume key for about a second. It takes longer than the power button + home button method though
Volume down method doesn't work for me. It just turns my volume down and then the capacitive lights start flashing and the power menu pops up.
Edit - i guess it does. I was pressing power then volume down a second later like how i would do the home method. If i do it at the same time it works.
I kind if like the volume method because the picture gets put in a screenshot folder instead of the camera folder.
This is way cool!
Nice I did not know about the vol dwn + power.

Is there a way with android that I can switch the behavior of my menu button on my home screen? right now when I short press it the menu will come up, when I long press it will go to search. It'd like it to go to search when I short press, is this possible?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
I dont think so.
But its possible the other way around.
But then again, why would you want to replace the menu button function?
Its like the home button on an iOS Device

You can Edit system/usr/keylayout/sec_key.kl to change the key behaviour.
