Title says it, im a real noob but i did manage to root and install cm7, my questions are this
Is there a build that has HD video? ( hulu plus)
When i play music ( mp3s from sdcard) i get random sd card dismounts with the built in player and/or winamp
When i power down and restart i MUST(?) Hit the "n" button or i get a load error
For the most part i have figured out this thing ( came from ios ) just wondering if i
Should have put a different build on or if im just not doin it right
CM 7 is outdated. Install CM10 or CM10.1 instead.
There are several thread on how to. I happen to have my own at hand, but I'm in no way saying it's the best!

The ROM you find in the development section
Ok should i run the backup i made i revert to stock before i install 10?
I was reading some other site and it said 10 was not stable, thats what i getfor not comming here first i guess
CM10 is very stable. Can't speak for CM10. but according to comments I've seen here it's pretty stable too. I just happen to prefer CM10 to the 10.1 I have tried.
You do not need to revert to stoch before installing CM10.
Make sure you get the right version of CWN running before flashing CM10. (Version 6.x.x)

thank you for your help btw...( should have said this on my first reply )
im am very happy to get some help ( thought i could figure it out on my own....NOT )
should i be worried about the error i currently get on boot-up
on the cynoboot screen it says
E1 <---on top left corner
loading Altboot from emmc
normal SD boot overridden. Alt boot from EMMC
booti: bad boot image magic ( in memory)
only way to get past this is to reboot and make sure to press "n" to bring up the menu and choose
internal eMMc normal
and at this stage a E2 is in the top left corner...but if i choose this all will boot and work fine...
is this something im supposed to do on boot-up? or is there a error i should be worried about before
i nuke CM7 and go for CM10?

So I've been trying to install the ICS roms, going from gingerbread, to installing hacksung build 2 then installing the roms and it will always goto
"Checking state of BML/MTD" and will hang then say install completed when it defintatly did not. sometimes it will add a "random offset: xxxxx"
What the heck am I doing wrong? (This happened to both MIUI and AOKP ICS roms)
and then it'll start "not able to mount blah blah blah cache data" whatever it is
So I managed to mess up somehow. My up volume button does not work, and my home button is the back button, while the back button is now the home button.

have you tried to odin back to stock and start fresh?
I think I somewhat got it managed, but this was not only happening on my phone but another fascinate of my family's.
I did odin back to EH03, then make my way up to build 2 hacksung, then from there things get screwy. Also, the one time I managed to get the new MIUI ICS one on the other phone, it was slow as molasses.
flash aokp 32 glitched!
fyi some stock sd cards dont play nice with cm7 and cm9 mtd based roms. if you run into alot of "cant mount" errors in recovery this could very well be the problem. a class 6 or higher sd card should fix that issue. also check my guide out in the general section...refer to section 4 and follow steps to the T.

word. That's what I'm on now, although I had to do a few wipes / reinstalls before it fully got installed. We all have the same SD (16gb) cards as well. I'll check your guide out as well, thanks!
So I've tried searching but don't see anything relating to my question. If it's there I missed it and apologize.
My situation is this: I was running stock rooted 1.40 on my NT16 for the longest time but decided I wanted to try out the latest and greatest. I am not a noob when it comes to ROMs, but I am when it comes to Cyanoboot. I flashed CM10 and cyanoboot. then using Goomanager got the latest TWRP.
I'm not a big fan of TWRP personally, so i flashed CWM 6.0.13 and have been very happy. CM10 was nice and I liked the look and feel but it just wasn't stable enough to use as a daily so I decided to go to CM9 (0.05.3). I made a backup in CWM, wiped cache, factory reset and then flashed CM9. Rebooted and it loaded up just fine. Runs like a champ. the problem is that when I boot or reboot, I have the old cyanoboot installed. If I hold the n button to go to the menu and choose to boot EMMC recovery, it goes to the newer cyanoboot where I have to hold n again, to select boot EMMC recovery.
Now, like I said, everything seems to be working fine. I went in that way and made another backup in CWM and that finished successfully but how do I make it so there is only one cyanoboot now? I did not flash the recovery that is in the CM9 thread so is that my problem? If so, I will go ahead and flash it, but I wanted to ask before doing that. I would hate to have a third cyanoboot or worse, brick/really screw it up.
Again, I did try searching for this, but didn't find anything. If there is, please point me in the right direction and I will go from there.
Thanks!
Update... Decided to go back to CM10 and try out the latest from crmhoffmann (0.05.3). Restored my CM10 backup and flashed the new over top. Reboot and now the old version of Cyanoboot is gone leaving only the new one again.
I still don't know how to remove the first (older version) but I guess I can forget about it since the newer CM10 seems to be working much better.
Ive got a few question about going to cm10. i think im running cm7 but dont have it with me to know exactly what version. I would like to partition the 1gb "other storage" to 8gb or so, and would like to upgrade to cm10.
1. do i need to partition first or upgrade to cm10 first. would think partition since its going to wipe data.
2. does anyone have a video on installing cm10, if not a good walk thru on the install
3. when i rooted last time it didnt like my win7 and had to use a windows xp computer is this still an issue
4. CM10 "Jelly Bean" for Nook Tablet Alpha 0.07.1 Release does this oc to 1.2 and does it have the 5 point touch?
thanks for any help

Doesn't matter which you do first.

There should be videos or step by step walkthroughs in the threads. If you could install CM7, you can install CM10 (you just need to upgrade your existing recovery)

If you're already rooted, you don't need to re-root. Actually, if you have a custom recovery installed (you do if you have CM7 installed) you don't really need to root first at all, as the CM ROM file has all of the root tools built in already.

Not sure if it has the OC, but I'm pretty sure it has the 5 point ability. You still have to upgrade your touch firmware to the 5 touch, though; and doing so will prevent you from going back to stock, or even CM7 (I believe).
thanks
thanks m8
need more help
so i get to the cyanoboot screen and start fastboot on nook then in my command promt i type the fast boot part in and i get "waiting on device". on my device manager page my nook is coming up as "acclaim". any help would be great so my wife doesn't hurt me
new update
ok went with this [ROM] [WIP] CM10 PURE AOSP 4.1.2 JBV02-Hashcode Buildbot Says Hi! i think my problem was my version of cwm was around 5.0 upgraded to 6. something ans installed without a problem. little problems with sd card unmounting and going into deep sleep, side note seems like it downloads slower from playstore not positive on that yet. looks nice though.
If you're going to upgrade to ICS or JB, you'll need to flash an updated recovery. TWRP and CWM (EMMC and SD versions) are listed in the SGT7 CM10 thread.
Hi all
ok so i'm a bit nervous writing this expecting all manner of attack in that i may be posting something that's been posted before lol, i've been working on this phone from start to finish about 9 hours, over two days..... i've googled just about every combination of words to do with the title and everything in between but nothing seems to come close to what i actually need to do as nothing works
i have an LG Optimus 2x / p990, it had ICS on it but was far too slow to handle this, it needs something a bit less hardware intensive to run smoothly, so i went ahead an found cyanogenmod stable ...... 7.2 i installed sdk after an hour of finding out how it works i finally got adb and fastboot working, i then needed this, that, this, that, etc etc etc.....
to cut a 9 hour story short, i've managed to get myself to the point where i wiped the phone of everything but CWM partioned for ics via the AIO software but CWM will not let me install any ROM onto the phone. to be more precise it says i have installed CM 7.2 successfully! (i've tried this via the CWM via external SD card and sideload) i reboot the phone it's as if i've never done a thing, no trace or suggestion i've even attempted it on the internal card... nothing
i'm at the point now where i'm quite happy to just have my phone back now and install ICS 404 but can't use the LG kdz install software as the pc doesn't see the phone as an LG p990 because it's recovery and i can only get it to come up as internal and external memory cards
i'm not really a noob when it comes to tech stuff but this little phone has me stumped.... please, i'm begging you, help me any operating system that can get my phone working will do, preferably the CM 7.2 if not back to ICS 404?
and i know, i know i should have backed up but i had no idea it could be so complicated just to put an OS on a tiny computer
ETA i've tried that exitrecovery.zip thing and it did nothing :/
It's quite simple
Try to reset and unroot/re-lock the phone then unlock and root, then what you need to do is get ROM Manager and get the Clockwork Recovery and the version that supports your device, although you might need to hook up your phone to your computer for the process to work.
Also put back in ICS 4.0.4 when unrooted and re-locked again like stock and make sure it's the stock file for your phone.
And after you got ROM Manger and the Clockwork Recovery
Then just in Clockwork wipe out all data on the device and don't do a factory reset in Android just with clockwork and delete everything that was made on that phone then install CyanogenMod.
After that it will seem to take a long time or just a while to boot up and then it boots faster then the original ROM.
If you have Clockwork Recovery just wipe out all the data while it's still in there and you should be set.
When it was my first time putting in CyanogenMod it was 10.1 RC1 on my Nexus 7 and it didn't work and forever bootlooped, and that was because i forgot to wipe the device. Then after going into Recovery with Clockwork I deleted all the data of my tablet and it worked but took 5 mins. to boot up which is nomal.
And if Clockwork doesn't work, do the same with TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) and download that which can be found here teamw.in/project/twrp
If you don't want to get ROM Manager or that one isn't working then try this website to get Clockwork because it has the whole list of devices and I recommend downloading from the website instead of their app. clockworkmod.com/rommanager
cheers for that, i've tried all of the above still to no avail, having a think about it the phone is partioned for ics, i'm trying to install CM 7.2 which as i understand isn't ICS so.... maybe the error is that it's a different partioning sequence/setup i'm gonna go for CM 10.1 and see if that makes a difference.
to add i'm not sure why everyone rants and raves about CWM, TWRP seems much more complete and advanced do you (or anyone else) know the main differences?

TWRP has a completely touch driven interface that is 100% themeable, while CWM has a touch version and non-touch version. Also TWRP has a built in file manger and terminal emulator where as CWM does not. A lot of people like TWRP because it provides a lot of good features with a simple and straightforward yet powerful user interface. I would recommend taking a look at this guide if you want more information on the differences between the two http://www.droidiser.com/2013/04/twrp-vs-clockworkmod-recovery.html?m=1.

ok i managed to do it i can't remember exactly how but some good links and info for anyone who stumbles across this in need of help
i went for cyanogenmod 10.1 to make this work i used this AIO tool - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737
repartioned with OLD partion layout and BL
installed TWRP (included in the aio)
if you need to reinstall the google play store make sure you have right version if you flash it and get "unfortunately setup wizard has stopped" repeatedly you have the wrong version see this link for which one you need http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Gapps
obviously make sure you have adb and fastboot setup and drivers too.... it's a long process installing the entire sdk, personally for flashing this once and most definately not inclined to do it again i'd go with just the adb and fastboot rather than the whole sdk
also i found a keyboard error with 10.1 where i'd type 1,2 or 3 characters and the keyboard would minmise not sure if there's a proper fix (i found one thing where you disable the autocorrect but didn't want to do that) so i decided to download and install hackers keyboad which is based on the gingerbread keyboad and is much better and comes with full features and integrates nicely
coupled with the info above from YoyoscratchMC and you should be in the field
good luck to all i was ready to jump out my window with my phone first so i could land as hard as possible on it last night but i got there in the end lol
I lost my Nook Tablet for a while and just recently found it again. I'd like to update the recovery tool and put a new ROM on it so I'm looking for suggestions.
I had previously rooted it and installed ClockWorkMod and then it is running some version of an Android ROM. I'm looking to update the ROM to something newer so I can make use of new apps etc. Also I know newer ROMs need newer recovery tools to install. Is CWM still the go to for that?
Thanks for any help!

I'm running CM 10.2 and have been very happy with it. This excellent post by digixmax should get you on your way. It's what I used to get up and running, and yes, the recovery is CWM-based.

Thanks for that! Honestly i'm not sure what is going on. I managed to get Cyanoboot on it, installed CWM 6.0.4.8, yet every single 10.1~10.2 CM ROM I get from the official directory seems to cause it to go into a weird state where the screen goes blank, then flashes white, then goes blank again and repeat etc. Eventually the tablet just restarts. I've yet to find a single ROM that I can successfully load via SD card or internal and install it through CWM. For such an old tablet, I'm surprised things are this difficult! I've spent the last few days flashing back to stock on so many occasions when things have gone wrong. I wish I could try some other ROMs that aren't on the official CM repository however most ROMs have been hosted on Goo.im and while the site works, it is so slow you aren't even sure if the file is downloading. I wish there was more custom ROMs I could try because every official CM from 10.1 to 12.1 is bricking or failing to install! I'm honestly at my wits end.

I'm not skilled enough to give advice relative to your problem, but I might suggest you go for 10.0. Many people seem to think that this is the most stable of the lot, although it does seem there is something else going on with the problems you describe--maybe the SD card?
