I'm a bit of a daredevil. I just put together the zip using Regawmods tool and flashed it. You could always use the EngHboot from the other thread to flash back i guess.
Nice work OP, didn't much care for the Pink text.
What would be awesome imo is in that top line that's blank now put something like this: -DNA-
EDIT: that's a nice tool, didn't even know it existed.

lol... I bribed Liam Stears to make that dll for me to do this very thing.
He'll make a .dll for the stock bootloader too, but someone has to give him a copy of it... all I had was the ENG HBOOT
I made my own and kept the "unlocked" message.
Why? Because I like having true info on that screen so I know what settings are there.
You can always flash the bootloader again in the future if you need to "make it look stock again" if you need to have the unit returned or something.
I just wanted to remove that splash screen disclaimer since we can now set our own splash screen images.

Now that S-OFF is available we can use the eng bootloader to get extra fastboot commands. If you set S-ON for whatever reason you must flash a SHIP bootloader first or you will brick your phone. If you aren't sure if you need this or not odds are you probably don't, it can be extremely useful but it assumes you know what you are doing so it is much easier to brick your phone with it.
To flash either rename to PG86IMG, place on your sd card and then reboot to the bootloader; or you can use 'fastboot oem rebootRUU' followed by 'fastboot flash zip PG86IMG_eng-hboot.zip'. A list of the available commands can be found here.
hBoot 1.04.2000, mirror - MD5: 3348C361FED927DABB853E49744BD7F2
If you would like to go back to the SHIP one you can download it here. The process to flash it is the same except over USB you can do it straight from fastboot without RUU mode.
PG86IMG_1.40-hboot - MD5: 1B994699EA226390B47282BCB54088DD
For more versions of hboots including hacked ones check out ramjet73's post here.
Thank you to the AlphaRev & Unrevoked teams for getting us all S-OFF! I also want to say thank you to TeamWin for making the wait bearable by getting us root and to everyone who has spent time ripping this phone apart.
Also thanks go out to SolsticeZero for being a guinea pig and making sure it flashed correctly
Thanks Haus!
Did you already check to see if they included the extra commands??

Yep, they're all there. I would have loved to get the 1.40.2000 hBoot that was pictured a few days ago but this works fine for me so far. I am still using the ancient 0.76 hBoot on the 4G and never had any trouble with it.

A list of all the commands can be found here. To flash it you can rename it to PG86IMG and place it on your sdcard, then boot into the bootloader. Or, you can also flash through fastboot by using:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip PG86IMG_eng-hboot.zip

I'm sorry for being such a noob and now my dropbox upload won't be too much use but just for clarification (I only got dropbox to host this specific file since my websites ftp is acting screwy) how do I make like a hyperlink straight to the .img file in my dropbox so I can share it?
Dumb question lol I just never jumped on the dropbox bandwagon
EDIT: NVM, got it, one sec
EDIT 2: Okay gotta reup it, apparently deleting my public folder caused my issue. I'll be back with a hyperlink if anyone needs.

I'm not sure if I do or not, pretty sure not. But I might.. would I have got those apps from the OTA or should I look at a dump from before the OTA? Either way I'll make dumps of the individual partitions as well now that I got that freaking public folder working.

Just a question though. With flashing kernels, you have to flash it via recovery and then bootloader? For the Amaze / Sensation / Vivd, we can flash it just through the computer. I am trying to get a better idea so I can make the tollkit correct.

Pretty sure it's only bootloader for the kernel or fastboot for just the boot.img. Can't flash them through recovery, I don't think.
I am trying to find the boot.img for the kernels. If I can't find them, then I am done with the toolkit. If I can find them, then I can add it to the toolkit. I only found the flashable zip.

Yes, and then in that PHzip file is the boot.img which can also be flashed on its own in fastboot if pulled out of the PHzip file.
Sometimes that is the preferred method since the phones and kernels are not always on the same mainver and if the text file included in the PHzip file has a different mainver than the phone it is being flashed to there will be an error. The error can be fixed by editing the mainver in the text file before flashing it, but flashing in fastboot avoids the error.
Some ICS ROM's brought people's mainver up to 3.x. Original stock was at 1.x and with the OTA stock is now 2.x. I believe most ROMs are on 2.x but there is a good number of people whose phones got updated to the 3.x version.
I can have the modules flash when the phone is on. That is how we flash the modules and can I just flash the boot.img via fastboot instead of the PH98IMG.zip?
Remember, I don't have the phone so I can't test it, so please bare with me lol.

I think so, but some people seem to be uncomfortable using fastboot. But using this tool it seems it won't be as daunting since they won't have to use the cmd prompt on the pc, right? How would it work?
Special thanks to nolimitzr2 for testing!
Info:
The splash screen is stored as its own partition like a boot image. The splash screen is located at mmcblk0p14. This means that we can use the executable dd to modify the splash screen from recovery. This is S-OFF only!
What is new about this?
Right now, the splash screen needs to be flashed via PH98IMG.zip or fastboot. This isn't quite as convenient as flashing via recovery. With this, you could store several that you enjoy on your SD card and quickly swap between them via recovery rather than loading up a new PH98IMG.zip or fastboot whenever you want to switch.
How to use:
1. Download template zip file.
2. Put the splash screen you want named splash1.img in the splash folder in the zip file. Use 7zip to drag and drop it in.
3. Flash in recovery.
I nor anyone else are responsible for damage to your device.
edit: also to rom devs, please don't abuse this and brand everyone's phone to your rom if they don't want it.

Anything is possible, but it is likely a bad flash would just yield a bad looking splash screen. However if it was having trouble booting because of it, you could likely get into hboot to reflash one via hboot since the splash doesn't load before directly booting to hboot.

This worked, Thank you! But still get that red message at the bottom saying that it's a developers device. Any ideas on getting rid of that?

will someone one more talented than myself modify this for the DNA please? I used this on my Rezound. I like it because it looks good and it is simple. It is the Beats circled "b" logo in red of course on a black background.

The first thing to do is make sure you S-OFF and then the next is to make sure you have the ENG HBOOT. if you dont then your going to want to get that done first.
Proceed if your good to go
ok here is my drop box link beats.img
1. save the beats.img to your work folder where your adb files are.
2. plug your phone into the computer usb
3. next open a command prompt within your platform-tools folder
4. type in this at the prompt:
make sure your see your device ID after typing this command
Code:
adb devices
5. once the device is listed there type this code
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
6. once your at the bootloader type:
Code:
fastboot flash splash1 beats.img
7. once your done type:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Enjoy, if you have any questions please reach out to me.

I did S-OFF and switched to the ENG HBOOT day 1. I'm familiar with adb commands. I guess I was having a dumb moment when I asked how to flash it! thanx man!
btw, the linked file has a .txt extension. Do I just change the extension to .img after I download it?

We are all entitled to those moments!
Try going to my DropBox and once there scroll down to the .img files, the one your looking for is labeled beats.img
Hope it helps.

actually, it has an .img extension but your phone will change it to .txt if you download it to your phone.
better plan is to download these straight to your 'puter and the extension will stay correct.
besides, they're easier to install that way... lol
