just search i9100g and download the 4.1.2 version
then flash it in odin, google for odin 1.8.5
put your phone in download mode and connect it to the pc
in odin select a pda file and choose the 4.1.2 tar file and flash

If you are rooted download any jb rom available for ur phone thru Sam mobile... And flash it thru mobile odin... If you are not rooted you can still use pc version of odin

Yeah its official jelly bean, follow everything they say down to the last detail, also....make sure you have the international variant of the S3 because inevitably, you WILL brick your device if you flash it on any other device other than the international (quad core, GSM) version, good luck

sorry for a lame question, but how do i know if my SGS3 is international version? I bought it from ebay, which arrived from Hong Kong, however I think it is a european version (France??), I don't remember how i found that out last time. I am on a custom ICS ROM.

Odin recognizes tar files only AFAIK...if you have a zip file...extract the contents ..it will have a tar.md5 file inside it..

Re above .
Wipe phone and apply your original firmware .
Bit pointless flashing a JB rom only to remove it why not make up your mind what you want.Official Updates via Kies and OTA when they are released for your phone .
Or join XDA and flash stock roms on release . You cannot have both .

There's lots of guides on rooting you should always search first.
One thing: downgrade to 4.0.3 before doing anything.

You should spend a bit of time researching before you attempt anything.If you dont then youll be back on here whingeing about bootloop or Odin doesnt work....or bricked.
What is the point of telling you to flash a rooted kernel via Odin if youve not read the tutorials.
Or root,then flash a safe kernel using stock recovery>cwm.
And at the moment you are on firmware that could lead to a bricked phone if you do the wrong thing.

Just factory reset the phone and it would be fine ... if it still gives u problem..just flash the firmware again ... u can either use CF root by chainfire or philz kernel ..make sure to use same kernel file as u have on ur device and ur phone will be rooted ... if u need more help , just reply to the thread

There is no update released for s2 above then 4.0.4 so u will not be able to update it via kies and there is no 3.0.2 .The 3.0.2 is for tablets called honeycomb . I recommend you to flash XXLSJ(Android 4.1.2) via Odin

Jus try to update via Kies. Download Kies to Pc connect your phone via usb cable and whent its connected search for update. This is the easyest way. After u will be in 4.1.1 Just try this maybe helps.
