External bluetooth gps unit

Hi all!
I want to use a bluetooth gps with my hero. i can pair the hero with the bluetooth gps, but i can't connect with it.
I know that there is a gps in the hero, but i want to use this app:
http://trackmaster.trackaroo.com/welcome
Which is far more accurate with an external unit on a track. Moreover, my car as a athermical windshield, and i would like to put the bluetooth unit in the back of the car to avoid signal cut.
The app use this add on to exploit external gps unit: bluetooth gps service: but in the description of the app we can read: htc hero not support bluetooth gps.
In my search on google, i could read that htc devices doesnt support SPP profile.
Any chance to find something to make it work??
Ps: i found the app "Bluetooth gps" which work like a charm with my external gps, so it can work, but how?

[Q] Could you tehter the GPS in your Android phone to the NC?

I found a thread over at droidforums.com that talks about tethering your android phone's GPS to your PC using Bluetooth with an app in the market called BlueNMEA. I also found this app called Bluetooth GPS in the market that allows your android device to use an external Bluetooth NMEA compatible GPS with several apps that require a GPS, like Google Maps.
Has anyone tried installing BlueNMEA on their phone and side loaded Bluetooth GPS on the NC and tested this yet to get GPS functionality on the NC?
I bought my wife a NC for Christmas and can’t wait to try it myself but since it’s a Christmas gift for her I can’t really open it up yet to try it out.
that would work if we can get bluetooth enabled.
I guess I missed that. I had assumed the bluetooth was working.

[Q] usb gps reciever

If we used an app that had pre-downoaded maps like Co-piolet, are there any gps recievers that we could plug in?
I am curious about this myself. I have found plenty of people using bluetooth gps receivers, and I myself have gpstether working. I wouldn't mind using a usb gps receiver though since they can be had for a little cheaper than the bluetooth ones it seems.
I've been looking for an app like this as well. Apparently, we need a separate kernel module loaded to get the USB serial port accessible within Android. But this kernel module is available. Then it's just a matter of parsing the NMEA data and putting it into a location provider.
If I don't find anything, I might just do it myself. I have a USB GPS receiver that can output at 10Hz that I want to use. Or I might just get a kit to convert it to bluetooth if I have to.
Installed GPS Tether on my galaxy S and gTab yesterday, very sweet and fast response.
I'm using the GPS Logger Bluetooth RBT-2300 (bought it long time ago for photography geotagging) with the "Bluetooth GPS" free from the market. Once is paired and connected I'm using Locus Pro

GPS Dongle Fix Problem

Hi! I want to ask you something:
I am using HB 2.2 with Hunds Kernel, all is working properly, only the GPS doesn't work so well. I tried using GPS Status with the GPS Dongle attached to my TF, he sees some satellites, but he can't fix them, they suddenly disappear.
I don't know if is a ROM problem, kernel problem or what else.
There's something I can do?
Thanks.
I have read some tips on the Internet. That was useful for me. I will post it here so if someone need that, can read!
Here's the step by step to setup GPS BT Streaming to a TF201 :
1) root the PHONE (not the Tablet)
2) download "Bluetooth GPS" on the prime (or tablet) by googoo android. This will receive the GPS signal over bluetooth.
3) enable mock locations under developer settings on the prime settings
4) download a GPS to Bluetooth app on the PHONE. There are several
4.1) I use "Bluetooth gps" by meowsbox free trial 1.49 full version
4.2) you will need to grant su privileges to the GPS to Bluetooth app you use
4.3) some apps work better with certain phones
5) start GPS and gps streaming utilizing utility from #4 on the phone
6) pair phone and prime under bluetooth settings, in the settings menu of both tech.
7) open up Bluetooth GPS on the prime choose the PHONE from the dropdown source menu and click connect
8) you should now be able to utilize GPS as if it were native on the prime
8.1) you can see feed from bluetooth gps, see sats with GPS test, utilize maps or special nav charts e.g. boats planes etc.

[Q] External GPS receiver without fraud location enabled?

Hi all,
I have a car, which has a windscreen with additional anti-UV layer (violet-like, when looking at it from the outside). Unfortunately thus windscreen successfully restricts any kind of radio transmission (eg. GPS signal, anti-radar detection, etc.). I've bought a standalone GPS bluetooth receiver (Nokia LD-3W), this sort of devices has much better signal reception than internal one. It can receive signal indoor, no matter which floor I am on. My plan was to put it at the back of my car, in the windowed trunk. And then, Houston, we have a problem...
Android does not support external GPS receivers by itself. You have to download a bluetooth gps app from the GP (one of the best is called Bluetooth GPS). Turn bloetooth on, turn on mock location in programming options (you have to, because internal GPS will still be on; turning of locations in android disconnects from the external GPS), turn mock GPS in the Bluetooth GPS app, and then, theoretically, you can use your external GPS. Yes, it works, but...
Many, many apps have a check for the mock location and refuse to work with these settings... Some navigations, all radar-warners used in my country, family locators and many more.
I'm eagerly looking for a way to patch an app to disable this check (Lucky Patcher?) or any other way to solve this problem.
Thanks,
SQBI
