Dude that is not called as kernel.. Its a custom rom link... There will be custom kernel for your phone.. Search properly in this forum, you will get to know.... Go the following link and search for the custom kernel for Neo..

Download the required ROM... Dont extract zip file... Place this ROM in your SD card ... Using the flashtool, flash a kernel you find from the above thread... Then keep pressing the back button while u reboot ur phone... it will enter into recovery mode...

download latest g3mod kernel from the above link.. download the tar files as u dnt hav cwm .. flash that tar via odin as one package ..
PS : there is 4 version of g3mod of every release .. choose which one suits u .. )

hi, does any one have stock backup taken from cwm for sk17i. That is before installing some custom rom we might have taken back up for safety using cwm.I badly need that to recover my touch.if any have that please help me.the file size might be around 550mb.if possible please upload it.thanks

Stock what? Gingerbread or ICS? Which build number? 4.0.2.A.0.42?
Should it be rooted? USB Debugging on and unknown sources? CWM installed? Which language?

ICS, rooted, cwm not in rom installed, because backup made on rage kernel for 4.0.4:
Download down, will reupload it!

You don't need this backup, use flashtool to go back to stock rom. Just flash the stock gb/ics ftf for your device and flash it using flashtool :good:

First need to unlock the phone Bootloader/Root. for that need S1Tool. Then need Flashtool to flash the kernels, and copy the roms to SD card. But it writes down everything in the posts what do you need to do.

First you have to unlock bootloader, then flash kernel that suit for your custom rom with the help of Flashtool... & then u have to find one custom rom available on this forum for your phone.... before all better u have to backup your datas & official rom...

2)Yes just copy to sd card and flash via CWM

Thanks for it,I specially wanna install the Cyanogen 10 but I not finding the thread of it.
Only now I saw that have an specific area for S, facepalm for me.

Yes u need flashtool.

All cyanogenmod official builds are here. U have to know your devices' nickname. As Xperia ray is called urushi.

Buddy:
- root and unlock your bootloader
- download CM10 for nozomi
- open the zip file and take the boot.img from the zip (this is the kernel with CWM)
- put the rom in your internal memory
- then do this:
if you use windows xp or vista/7 you have in accesorries CMD program. Run it and type:
cd \
cd flashtool
cd x10flasher_lib
NOW connect phone when you hold Vol UP and type:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
- restart the phone and when you see the logo start clicking vol + to enter CWM
- wipe data, wipe cashe, wipe dalvic cashe
- install zip
- wipe again and reboot
- enjoy

The nightly builds have many bugs & they are not so stable...
But the stable builds don't have that much bugs... It is always preferred for everyday use..

Cwm is the short form of ClockWorkMod.
It's a recovery software for android phones.(as u can see BIOS in pc. Not exactly but that's the them.)
It comes with custom kernels. For devices with locked bootloader u hav to install it separately.
