[Q] Help! Cant Load ICS or JB Roms - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I have an htc evo 4g lte and I recently rooted it and installed custom recovery, however I cannot flash any roms past GB. I have tried to use fastboot, I have tried different recoveries, I've tried goomanager and flash gui. I am on hboot 2.18 and s-on. I am on 2.3.5 and I desperately would like to upgrade. I cant flash boo.img's using fastboot because I get a failed error. If i try to flash cm10 or mean bean I get a status 7 failed on TWRP. If someone could tell me what I need to do to get JB running on this I would greatly appreciate it. I have done alot of searching so if you know of thread that contains this exact information please link me to it.

AFAIK the Evo lte never came with GB

You don't have an Evo 4g LTE. That hboot has never been on the LTE. You need to figure out what phone you have.

He's definitely talking about the OG EVO
Try here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=619
Might want to pay more attention to what you're doing. Both ROM's you're trying to flash WILL NOT WORK on the OG EVO.
The advice is free....the bandwidth, not so much

thanks...i actually have been trying to do it through fastboot, and the link you sent me i have read over...for some reason i still am having issues when it comes to using fastboot...i am very new to this new method of flashing, it seems confusing and i have no idea what i am doing wrong exactly...only cm10 roms work on my phone
When you boot it goes into recovery because of HTC dumlock. That is normal operation.
You should super wipe before switching to and from sense ROM. That should work
guys thanks i got it all fixed now

[Q] Big Problem, Rooted. Returned 2 stock, upgraded then rooted and s-offed HELP

Okay so Here is the problem and story, I was on 1.2 hBoot, I rooted and used lazy panda to achieve s-off, I then flashed tons of roms and such with no real issues. I always had a problem with reception so i returned to stock yesterday and updated all the way up to 1.19 Hboot and 2.13 Software. Now I rooted and S-Offed using HTCDev, Installed TWRP and tried to flash cm10, Bootlooped at the CM screen for over 2 hours, I thought it might be the rom so I thought that Maybe flashing a different rom would make it work... But I tried to flash AOKP JB and it did the same thing. I would go back to Stock rom but me getting excited for the Better reception and other issues, I forgot to make a backup of the rom. So I tried to flash the Stock rooted Deoxed that was posted on the forum and it worked but nothing else will flash.. .Any Ideas?

It's an option within twrp not sure how it works that's why I suggested searching google

From what I read Dumlock is only affected by S-ON devices and not s-off...
Dumlock keeps the boot partition from being writen in Recovery, Which when i flash a zip, it Boots into the rom with the Boot image showing for that specific rom and then just loops like it hasnt finished loading android. I dont know what caused this or what I can to fix it.
Wow.. solution is s off. Apparently I didn't look to see if I was actually s off.. so now I have to use raccoon to achieve.s off

Issue updating Radio

I am a noob but i can work my way around the phone.
My phone is full root S-Off and says Tampered/Unlocked. I was able through recovery to upgrade to the latest jelly bean stock rooted rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35651070 This was sucessfull and running really nicely but for the life of me I cannot get the new firmware to install, in fact i am still on the original firmware from April.
I load Hboot it says parsing PJ75IMG.zip then just closes and returns to bootloader.
I also tried fastboot but to no avail, any help would be much appreciated.
TIA
Can you post a link to the specific file you're trying to load?

[Q] Error 140 bootloader error during RUU LTE

Hello all. Couldnt really find anything in the similar threads for this issue...My son has an EVO 4G LTE. He is home for the holidays and before he left last summer I unlocked his phone and installed a Fresh Rom, keeping S-on. Hes home now and He told me he tried to take the OTA, It didnt change of coarse, so I told him we would get it all back to stock if thats what he wanted. I "re-locked" the phone via HTC Dev. then tried installing the 3.15 RUU. Somehow the bootlader is 2.09 and it stops the RUU with error 140. Im assuming the bootloader is too new compared to the old 1.12 software on the phone. I even tried the a different RUU 2.13. same thing. Didnt do a reset yet as the phone is relocked and i didnt do a backup. Im just a notch above novice and have gained a lot of the tips through my EVO 3D and the help of you guys. Thanks in advance.
Dave
Maybe not the answer you're looking for, but what about unlock again and just flash a stock rooted OTA ROM?

im in the same boat, was unlocked n rooted. im s-on, so ran the gui program to flash the .img file b4 flashing cm 10.1 and gapps, while in twrp to flash the roms, i did a factory reset b4 flashing, dont kno if that screwed up the rom file or what, but after flashing cm 10.1 n gapps, it loaded fine, but couldnt click anything after the rom flashed. so i relocked bootloader, and tried runnin the 3.15 ruu, and now i get the 140 error everytime, so im currently stuck with no phone, any help ppl? is there another ruu i can just run to fully unroot my evo 4glte, and just start from scratch????

It's because of your new tp firmware. Which means you are also on 3.16 software. So you would need the 3.16 ruu.

[Q] Can't flash any ROMs

SOLVED!! Thanks to everyone, especially bigdaddy and FinZ! I will post something about what I did and what I used to get S-Off since it is actually really easy once put into easy to understands terms
Hey everyone,
Everything was going really as I was rooting my Evo 4G LTE this afternoon, until I realized I forgot to S-off. TWRP was installed and Superuser was flashed - Anyways, I got antsy and wiped the phone and flashed CM 10.1 and realized I forgot S-off - so of course, the phone wouldn't boot past the HTC screen.
I've been trying to flash stock roms to get into the superuser app, but none of them will load. They start to flash in TWRP, then the phone reboots to the HTC splash screen.
I am now unlocked, but still S-on. I can't flash any roms right now and was hoping someone might be able to help me out. I even tried the process all over again, but I get the same problem. So as of now, I can't get an OS on the phone.
Any ideas? Thanks.
Edit: I was running the latest OTA with HBOOT 2.09.

Flash meanbean or viper rom, both have s-on kernel installer and you should be able to get s-off using dirty racun or moonshine... Sharkie rom is a stock rom too with a s-on installer... Good Luck!

Question... How did you install your recovery? Goo manager, pj75img.zip, or fastboot? I have had this same problem and the only solution was to fastboot flash a recovery... Dunno it was very weird and has only happened on my lte but it's been months.

I installed it using fastboot. I'm going to try one of the ROMs suggested above and see if that works. I'll let you all know as soon as I do it.
I keep reading that Moonshine won't work with HBOOT 2.09 - and I haven't had any luck getting it to work; it still gives me connection issues saying it can't connect to the phone. It's weird... I can use the adb devices command in recovery mode and my device ID shows up, but when I go into fastboot USB and do adb devices, I can't get it to show up. If I could somehow get that to show up during fastboot, it would mean smooth sailing.
Update: I successfully installed Meanbean. However, I still cannot gain S-Off. Moonshine won't work and I do not know enough to use DirtyRacun since it must be used with Ubuntu. I'll post my Moonshine issues in that thread
Thanks for the help with this! It looks like it just needed a S-On ROM to be installed which I though I was doing before!
I've tried every single HTC driver available and I can't get anything to recognize the Evo when it's in fastboot. It only recognizes the device when the ROM is loaded and USB storage is enabled. Unfortunately, I can't get s-off (as far as I know) without being in the bootloader and using fastboot.
Anyone know how I can achieve this or how I can get everything to communicate with one another like they're supposed to?
Have you deleted all the HTC stuff on your PC rebooted it the plug you phone back in and it should load the drivers again
then boot into bootloader and it should load more drivers
also try updating your android-sdk
Make sure you have the most current HTC driver. At least one person that I know of had issues until he updated to the most recent driver, which can be found in the link below. Use the HTC driver from post #2.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2179776
Also, like Bigdaddy said, make sure you have things like HTC Sync removed. Make sure you're using a USB 2.0 port, too. I don't know where you read Moonshine doesn't work with Hboot 2.09, because it does (specifically for the latest OTA).
