Hello people.
I'm running Ubuntu Touch Preview on my Galaxy Nexus, and trying to change the keyboard language. Is it possible?
And how can I set up APNs?
(feel free to ask other questions, together we can learn how to use this OS)

APN for mobile internet? If yes then read the release notes again please.
"Mobile data is not supported, data is available via Wi-Fi only." https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/ReleaseNotes
Thanks, I understand. No data.
And what about changing the keyboard language?
You'll probably need to do it through the command line with ssh. Have you set that up yet?

I can get command line through adb shell. I don't have Ubuntu but I think I can get ssh client for Windows.
How do I do that once I get command line? Do you think it's even possible or the keyboard just doesn't support any other language/layout?

Yes I had some problems with it, it was crashing when tapping Show password and generally hard to use.
After reboot or maybe reflash I managed to connect it.
BTW notice this from Release Notes: Galaxy Nexus: 802.11a ( ie. 5GHz ) is currently not working.

Im rooted now im wondering whats the best app to get for tethering?
I want to usb tether and wifi teather ....any ideas?
thanx
use the google one
current stable release is 2.06 i think
I use Barnacle, nice and easy
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Well if you are interested in tethering with a lapdock (as I am with unlimited) Barnacle works flawless after associating. The wifi tether required I change the network proxy to default before it passed validating. But I got it off the market so the beta pre 3.0 may work better. Market version also didn't allow some controls.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I use a combo of Barnacle + Mobile Hotspot.
What do you guys use for a wired tether?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I use PDAnet if I need to tether via USB. But I rarely have to.
There is also a wired tether app. I found it with a Google search. Its just like wireless tether except wired. I can't attach it from the app here but its out there.

Are you rooted and enabled third party apps? Have to be rooted to use wifi tether and need to enable third party apps when you root to be able to install the file
Hey thanks for replying, I've only been using android for about a few months now, used to be a windows mobile fan, dislike it. Switching over to this, not sure what exactly that is, am a techno dude, if there are some steps maybe you could guide me, appreciate it. thanks.

Might want to do a little reading on what all rooting is before you do it. But basically it gives you more control over the phone. Once rooted and allow third party apps you should be able to download wifi tether and install it.
Thanks for the article. completed, also followed the sticky for rooting on here. ATT=money maker company, can't believe we can't install non market apps right out of the box.
Could someone tell me how to share my PC internet (to use internet pass-through) to my SGS 2 (CM9) via USB?
P.S. I would use WiFi, but my DSL Modem doesn't have one... :|
Won't work, get connectify and install on your computer/laptop, it should have wifi.
Connectify gives you multiple options to connect, avoid adhoc ones. Choose the last option.

You should be rooted and have iptables for it to work.. Maybe something is missing there? Try searching for how to reverse tether you will find many guides with manual steps to take (via shell), my advice would be to go through them and see what's not working for you there and that would probably be the case the app is failing.
Good luck!

I did many searches but can not use this feature. I wanted to communicate with my laptop, more research without success. I tried to download the file to another phone, which also has this feature, but there is the option to send, as in the other device.
Example: open the file regenciador => send => wifi direct. This option does not appear. But in another cell appears if it is sent via direct wifi.
I'm using a JJ's Hybrid ROM 3.0 with support for direct wifi.
found that source code, but I can not use.
https://github.com/android/platform...tree/master/src/com/android/settings/wifi/p2p
nobody knows an answer. Nobody knows how to use this technology to help me and help others? no direct communication between wifi and pc / laptop / cell phone ....

Estrong file explorer app can connect to network shares if that's what you're asking...

Hello all,
From other ICS devices I own and follow (and don't worry I know all about the wpa_supplicant issue) I was wondering if anyone has been successful in sharing their laptops internet with the phone?
Case: I at work have an unrestricted internet line, I can't connect a wireless router but I could share my internet via the wireless of my laptop (ad-hoc). Has anyone succeeded in doing this?
Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion, I found the app and downloaded it but didn't work on my phone, it gave an error in the las segment because it cant find the system group "wifi" in my phone. For what I can see the dev stopped updating this app, in my eyes its a shame because that could of been very useful and profitable for him at the same time.

This has been now a life long quest for me since upgrading my Xoom to ICS. I would have perfect connection with GB so I know our hardware supports it, but as of ICS they changed the drivers... I would personally pay for an app / option like this and I know that many others would as well.

Make your laptop wifi hotspot
Run dos as administrator and type as follows
netsh
wlan
set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid="name" key="password"
start hostednetwork
show hostednetwork
stop hostednetwork

Thank you for your help!
I followed your instructions and I got the wireless network up and running. When I try to connect my phone to it (Evo 4g LTE) the phone sees the network, asks for the password, tries to connect but keeps disconnecting and connecting constantly nonstop.
Any suggestions?

It's hard to see, but it's in the minuum settings. And when you have it up, you need to just swipe your finger to the left to 0, and the default vibration value on minuum is 150.
