Hello, Im new to all this Rooting and Flashing roms stuff. I flashed Jellybeer to my G Note i717 AT&T and was restoring system stuff like messages from Titanium Backup and I get a message from Pic #1 after i rebooted and this is what i was restoring and what i think i did wrong (but I dont know what i did wrong if that makes sense) on pic #2. How do i fix this without having to wipe everything again and re flashing the rom? do i just wipe system data from TWRP ?

i think i read this somewhere before that the error has something to do with the contacts sync. you can try going into settings>apps>all>google contacts sync>clear data. if that doesnt work you can also try clearing the contacts storage data as well. and then just sync your contacts again.
i also saw this online......if your using facebook: Settings>Accounts and Sync>Facebook>uncheck Contacts
hope this helps...
Backing up and restoring apps, sms, etc.. is the best way to quickly start using your newly flashed ROM, unfortunately, most devs on here DO NOT recommend that for the simple fact that it causes many issues such as the one you are experiencing now.
However, I've found what seems to be a fix: {Good Luck}
Do you have your contacts backed up?
Try uninstalling Facebook if that is installed. If this does not fix your problem then try the following.
Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts Sync Adapter and press Clear Data, this error usually goes away. If this doesn't work, try clearing the data on Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts or Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts Storage.
If problem is fixed, then restore contacts and reinstall Facebook and make sure you don't sync contacts with it.

I recently changed to an ICS ROM (Ressurection). I cant get push notifications to work. They work until I do a restore of all my data in Titanium Backup. Then nomore push notifications. I checked the accounts and they are set to sync. I cant find background data setting in ICS settings. Is there any cache or something I can clear to try and fix this? Thnx
I have the same problem on my O2x.. some apps told me that my device does not support push notifications.. strange from 4.0.4

Any luck with this? I have the same problem on a 4.0.4 ROM on my GSII SR....
I suggest you do a fresh wipe and flash etc to get it working again, and then only restore your apps via T Backup one by one, testing in between. Restore your most important apps first, to see if they are the culprits.
Don't restore any system (red coloured) app! But I assume you know that.
If you find the 'culprit' app, let us know, and uninstall it, test your push notification-ness again, and only restore the app without the accompanying data...
Don't know if there's a better way?

I made it work by deleting+readding gmail acc and clearing Google framework cache. Works well since then.

Hello guys
I need your help here. So I flashed this new ROM, and the Google Push service seemed to have stopped working completely.
1. Gmail not pushing.
2. K9 push not working
3. Google play store not pushing as well
I have played around (sync on,etc) but I can't seem to find what's wrong with it. So I tried to restore a previous Nandroid backup, but the md5 checksum was mismatched!
I then tried to wipe everything, reflash new ROM etc, and yet the Google Push services aren't working as well.
Can anyone help? I am stuck, I can't go back due to md5 checksum error, and I can't move forward because I don't get Google Push services

Yup, done that, still doesn't work. Plus k9 push isn't working either, it seems that the whole push function is completely broken

Push seems an issue with XXDLI8 (at least in HyperGalaxy 1.8), just revert back to XXDLI7.
Yup I read about that too. The thing is I'm still on ICS, and I have never flashed a jb rom before. The error happened when I flashed hyper galaxy 0.7, which is a ics build.
I have given up on that rom, and I'm not on other rom and the push problem persists. I'm not sure what I did wrong, it's like the problem sticks despite me wiping cache, and everything else.

Maybe you can supply some more info, like what ROM and version are yiu using now, which baseband and what install procedure did you follow exactly?

Sure, here it goes. I have been flashing ROMs etc since 2010, so I am quite familiar with the concept, but this baffles me, before I can't seem to wipe everything clean and restart from point zero, because the problem sticks even after a new ROM is flashed. Is there more to this? Like modem/baseband etc? Thanks in advance for your help!
Baseband I9300XXLH1
Kernel Siyah s3 v 1.5 beta 4
Build no IMM76D.I9300XXBLG9
WanamLite ROM XXBLG V2.2
Thank you!!!
Ok I got it figured out already.
Previously I was on a full feature rom, then I flashed to a stripped down rom. I was short of a few apps, so i flashed additional apps, extracted from titanium etc, without checking their compatibility etc.
When I flash a new rom after that, I'll restore all system data via titanium, and that's why the problem persists. If I flash a new rom without restoring system data, then it's fine.
It's strange though, you'd think that titanium would be able to pick up on that if they aren't compatible.
Anyway problem solved and thanks for your kind assistance!

well happy that you found out a solution. generally titanium backup is used only for restoring apps not for system settings

Yea I realised that with SGS 3. With HTC Desire on Froyo/GB, the issue was nearly non existent, I never had a single issue, be it from Sense to AOSP, back to Sense etc.
Flashing is quite a pain then, if system apps can't be restored via Titanium, having to re apply settings like ringtones, widgets etc?
u can make a nandroid backup and restore
do kernels affect push ?
sorry to bring up an old thread, but i didn't want to open a new one just for this
i've recently flashed Perseus 24.2 over Omega 27.2 and noticed that Push notifications dont work when the phone is sleeping.
to get it working, i have to open up the app (eg. Whatsapp, hotmail) and i get all of them at once.
did a nandroid rollback to stock kernel and it was working fine
Q. is there a specific setting to kernels that may affect push?
probably Android ID problem
i didn't want to open a new thread for same kind of problem.
Problem occured when i fresh install DLIB (with wipes and everything). After installation complete, i've restored apps + systemdata with titanium. While restoring, it asked me to whether use new android id or restore the old one in backup. I choose to restore old one. then problems started.
- I can't use Google Play on the web. It says "there is no phone connected to this google account"
- none of my notifications are working. and i assume it is about android id. (today using Titanium i switched to new android id but nothing changed)
any guesses?
I've just flashed SuperNexus and backed up all my apps + data for the first time, it's going through each app one by one on the installation, I assumed it would do it all in one go, is this normal? or have I done it wrong haha?
edit2: after restoring apps + data I just keep getting spammed with messages like "unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped" when I try open contacts, phone etc it says the same message, halp what have I done wrong? my phone keeps crashing cause of everything not working
i cant send a text or anything! even when I receive calls it comes up, some apps work fine and the data is there but most important functions just do not work, can anybody please help me ?

You might try going in recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache, fix permissions and reboot.
Don't restore system data, and to batch restore apps you need the pro version
I just wiped the caches and nothing changed. If I reflash and restore just apps will I lose the data for the apps? Like saves etc

No, you can restore user apps and it`s data. You will not loose anything.

Yes, but you should be okay to restore data for the apps, but don't restore system data across roms.

Great!
I just reflashed and just did missing apps + data and all works fine, my save game on final fantasy 3 is still there
Good job I saved contacts to SIM or it would of been annoying, thanks everyone!
I thought I bricked it last night too lol, I was flashing "UltimaROM" and was instructed to wipe the phone with his custom installer using Super Wipe. I did that and it just froze, was making no progress at all so I turned it off. It kept rebooting over and over and wouldn't get into recovery mode for ages but it eventually did.
Can anybody answer my kernal question? Is it safe to flash a custom kernal after ROM? I only ask because I read somewhere certain kernals/rom flashing causes a "brick bug" or something

hi all.. i have been getting the process.acore crashes all the time. I have cleared the contact storage etc i have tried everything.. from a flashing different roms and doing a complete clean install (formatting the sdcard)... but it always appears back pretty soon.. I want to troubleshoot it but i have no clue where to start.. i installed alogcat but it shows nothing... i want to know whats causing these crashes so any help would be appreciated. I have a feeling that some contact is causing this but need to be sure..
I use haxsync but it also crashes with the same error...
formatting the sd card is not a clean install. you have to format system and data

yes i know. i wipe the system completely while installing the rom, forgot to mention that. I cleaned the sdcard too just incase.. but still the problem is there. I would like to know how to troubleshoot it to see what the problem is. mainly it is about how to get the logs in this system. I have tried a lot but it seems there is something missing all the time..
Try uninstalling Facebook if that is installed. If this does not fix your problem then try the following.Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts Sync Adapter and press Clear Data, this error usually goes away. If this doesn't work, try clearing the data on Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts or Settings>Applications>System Applications>Contacts Storage. If problem is fixed, then restore contacts and reinstall Facebook and make sure you don't sync contacts with it.

I tried this too but still the same error, thats why i want to see the logs, but the problem is that i couldnt see it. I installed alogcat and a couple of more logcat viewers, but they show nothing and its blank. I went through many tutorials, made alogcat a system application but its still the same.
I tried it on a fresh system without installing facebook or anything, still crashed with the same error so i am thinking maybe some thing from the contact is not right...
Any help on logcat troubleshoot is appreciated ...
Hello.
Today I decided that I should upgrade my phone and move to Cyanogenmod 11.
So I downloaded everything, followed every step, made a backup with Titanium Backup, and upgraded.
With (almost) no problems, my phone booted with Cyanogenmod.
At first, everything went smooth, I put all my stuff back in the memory while I sit back and enjoy the speed.
But then everything went bad. I found out all my contacts are gone, all my photos are gone, all of my songs are gone, the home button doesn't work, I opened Nova Launcher and suddenly the lockscreen has been disabled.
I can't close apps because the home button doesn't work. The button on the upper left on the notification center doesn't work (although it worked at first), I don't even get notifications.
There is no physical problem with the home button. When the phone is locked, I press the home button and it wakes it up, but it does nothing besides that.
I also can't access my Contacts app, I need to open the Phone app and access them through there.
Also– I can't receive any calls. It seems the phone knows a call has been made, but it sends the caller straight to voice mail and I need to check the missing calls to see if anybody called.
If it helps, whenever I boot the phone there's a tiny exclamation mark on the top left.
Please help.
Well don't know what the problem is but seems like you are running out of RAM... I personally didn't had any problem with any aosp ROM be it cm11 or omni...
Try flashing it again and flash it clean that is do a factory reset then wipe system, preload, cache, dalvik cache..and then install it...
Also avoid using art as your runtime as it may be the culprit...

I doubt it's about the RAM, I never had any problems with it, and I clean it regularly.
I will try to flash it again, but I try to back my things up, and instead of backing up only the user apps (107) Titanium Backup backs up about 321 files, which I think means it backs up also the System stuff.
What do you mean by "avoid using art as your runtime"?
EDIT: I flashed the ROM again, and everything works fine. But before I bring all of my stuff back through Titanium Backup, I need to be sure: What does grey apps with cross line on them means? Because I don't want to screw up my phone again...

The apps which are crossed are not installed in your device...avoid the ones which are colored as these are the apps from your previous system which must have been backed up by titanium backup...dont restore them..just go in the tab which says restore missing apps with data..the first one in the restore section..it contains all your user apps with their data backed up..
although cm thread says that they dont support the use of titanium or restoring your data...
so i also restore those apps for which data is always necessary like games...it us a little cumbersome but ya thats the way to go for better experience...

Okay so I restored all of my apps, some info is missing but that's fine. Just a small problem– Slow charging. The battery take AGES to charge and the percents goes down if I use the phone while charging.
Suggestions?

Yes it was. The charging time changed only after flashing to CM.
The usb cable is not the problem, I tried 2 USB and one charger, the charging remains the same.
