It's said in the thread name. Is that normal or what should I do to get it right? I tried to search this subject but it's impossible to search as the search words are too common and I can't filter out the results I need. Please enlighten me in the subject matter...
Thanks in advance.
P.S. It was also hard to put this thread in appropriate forum, so if I have mistaken in that regard, mods please relocate the thread.
So nobody even knows is this normal or not?
Nobody uses Google Now?
So, 53 views - from which I guess 3 I can write on my own account - and nobody from 50 people uses Google Now... Really? That can only mean two things. Google has seriously f..ked up with the service, I mean if even one out of 50 people doesn't use it, it's definitely a fail. Or, a more probable reality is that not a single user from those 50 who actually has ever tried Google Now bothered to answer my question. This is EPIC fail, dear XDA-Developers Forum. It's not the community it used to be, where it was meant that users support each other. And that's really sad.
When I say view email it opens the stock mail app.

Thank You for Your effort! I am sorry, I wasn't being accurate in my original post. I was referring to the situation when I have a "package shipped" card in Google Now and there is a link below that - "View email". When clicking that one, I am redirected to browser instead Gmail app... I have Gmail app set as default for emails.
UP. Please someone test it...
Anyone?!

Is there any app ( like reQALL, which isn't that user friendly) in which I can send reminders to my friend ( of course if they've installed the same app ) .
e.g: If I've to remind him to call some one at a particular time
I'm using the good old method now, Saving reminder in my mobile and calling him to check with that person
I think I 've asked this question at wrong time.
Looks like i've asked this question at the wrong time where in every one ( including me ) were closely tracking ICS instead of the forum
I'm surprised
I'm surprised to see no replies from XDA . I really thought I will get some answer
Ummm, send a text message. If you need, there are apps that allow you to type a message and have it sent at a particular time.
I'm a bit confused about why you would need an app for this? Can your friend not make a note/calendar entry/alarm for themselves?

Thanks for the reply Jane. Say Suppose if I want to send it to a group of people ( with Android phone and the app installed in all their mobiles), where in I set an appointment and send it to all of them , a notification pops up whether you want to update your calendar Yes/No . Clicking a Yes makes an entry in his mobile? some thing on this line.
And to answer your other question, Yes he can set a alarm /reminder as well. All the Apps are the just Ideas of making things easy isn't it?
Replying again to push my thread up , Really sorry for the spam I just want the thread to be seen by developer who knows about this .
Suggestion:
Make a Google account, let your friend(s) to sign in. Once you set reminder, everyone will get.
A yay for you?

I thought I will get some real answers, instead all I've got was workarounds and suggestions. thanks for that anyways.
I will Keep the thread alive for one more day and I will close it, i don't want to spam .
I think this is one kinda app which is not in existence, Developers can take this idea and they can build one if they want it
Need Help to Set Password for Default Email,Gmail apps...My cousins,Friends use my mobile sometimes and I dont want them to see my mails..Any Idea how to Protect them by Keeping a Password before opening it? I have not rooted my mobile and dont want to.

Not being funny, but that was in the first screen of search results on google. This is xda-developers.com, not spoon-feed-the-lazy.com. Just a reminder
Also, there's lots of apps out there to do this, so if you don't like that particular one then just search the market...

I have been trying to get Google Now to tell me what my next appointment is but all it ever seems to do is web search and not actually look at my google calendar. I do get cards that show me what my appointment is when i open Google now but it does not speak them to me when i ask. does anybody know what i am doing wrong?
It will speak to me if i ask it "how tall is Barack Obama?"
I have made sure that everything is set to English US, even though it does speak to me in the Australian voice if i have it set to English (Australia) it still does not answer my question? When is my next appointment??? I don't know where i need to be next so please help??
Seriously, i am not overly impressed with google now at the moment and was expecting a bit better integration with the rest of the phone and accounts on it.

Svoice will do it but that means using 2 different voice apps when it should all be in the 1.

They're both on your phone anyway no? Just use whichever one suites your needs at the time. Google now to find out how tall Obama is, lol, and svoice for the other stuff.
I'm sure it'll work fine either when it's updated or when official jb is out and Samsung have coded it properly or whatever needs doing.
I'm experiencing similar problem but worse. Everything I'm asking to do or just ask simple questions - Google Now do simple web search... I set everything in English but with no luck.

Same issue here.
Just a thought;
do you use 's planner' and does it sync to google account? If it doesn't sync, google now might not have access to s planner to get the data from phone directly. Hence why s voice would work...
me too i'm not that impressed of google now as of now
been trying earlier all it can do is search in the web for pretty basic things like how old,how tall, who wins, who this is.etc but can't add an event to my calender

Hi all, u need to speak "when is my next appointment?" Instead.
I just had the same problem which is how I found this, and when I tried again saying "when is my next appointment" rather than "what is my next appointment" it worked. A lot of times its about ur word choice. So try when instead of what.

Sweet you were totally right on with this. I got to this thread because Now sent me to just a web search when I asked "What is my next...". When I followed your advice GNow did exactly what I wanted. Thanks!

Correct me if I;m wrong, but isnt the point of Google Now to automatically bring these appointments to your attention, and not have to ask or search for the information you need? I should not have to ask Google Now when my next appointment is, it should be there like the pesky how far it is to my home in traffic card, that i dont need since its the exact same drive every single day 5 days a week. Why will these appointments now ushow up on their own cards by them selves as they should via Google Now?
Sintax error
The problem is how you word the question I just tried it myself instead of saying "what is my next appointment" say "when is my next appointment" and it will work perfectly.
"What's my next meeting" is working :cyclops:
It gets better

I know when I tried it didn't work but because google is constantly improving the service I would say that the vocabulary that Google now understands is constantly expanding. Like the other day I found out if you say "what's the weather" it will only give you the current temperature but if you say "what's the weather today" it gives current temperature and the daily forecast.

Hehe cool, any other hints like that one?
Google just recently in included this question along with other features such as gmail integration in the latest iteration of Google now.
First go to the Google play store and search "Google search"; update if avalible
Next go into Google now (swipe up from bottom) and say "Google!" (Wait for the beep) "When is my next appointment?"
Do not use conjunctions like when's or what's my next appointment; Google will not recognize these.
Hope this helps!
Hello!
Can anyone upload Switch To Windows Phone *.apk here? I want to switch, but this app isn't available in my country and I don't know why.
There it is: here
You should try Google it yourselft first. There is no link to APK in Google yet, all pages links only to Google Play.

The irony of this ^ jerk's response is that googling it, brings you to this very forum thread.
I have very little respect for people who tell others to "Google it", on forums that are popular enough to become part of the Google results themselves. Sure, you perhaps cause that one single OP to do a bit more independent research the next time around, but you waste the time of hundreds of subsequent readers that land on your valueless comment AS THE RESULT OF DOING THEIR OWN RESEARCH.
Anyone have the APK?
I know you guys can download it from google play, but when I try it says 'This item cannot be installed in your device's country.' I get that a lot.
Usually I search APP apk and get it, but for this app everyone seems to be pointing to google play and that doesn't help me.
So If anyone knows a direct download for the APK please post it here thankyou.
Here you go
I sometimes get a notification which tells me about various applications that can be downloaded, I find these notifications extremely annoying, not only because I hate advertisements and put a lot of effort into stopping then on my desktop PC which I am very experienced with, but on the HTC one, when I get one of these notifications it uses the default notification sound, which makes me think I have a text message (sometimes at ridiculous times of the day) but instead it's telling me about star cam or some other crappy app. In this respect the advertisements are worse than on my desktop PC, as I never turn the mobile off in case I am being contacted, so the possibility of getting these annoying notifications is 24/7.
I don't know why, but I never had this problem on my htc desire HD, or the tytn 1 and tytn 2, only my htc one.
I need to stop these advertisments! I have tried going into "App info" for google play store to disable "show notification" but I don't seem to be able to find it except for "notify me about updates to apps i've downloaded" now this doesn't seem like it, because that only counts for apps I already have and only for updates. My problem is for notifications about apps I never had, also the app updates notification never seems to make a sound (Which is good) but this other notification uses the default notification sound as I stated before.
I have come across various apps that supposedly stop ads, but I don't want to get my phones resources bogged down with apps that may or may not do what I want and might not even work anyway, but I need some help please!
Do a simple Google search. This has been talked about plenty.

sigh.. always someone suggests google. By that statement this website could not exist at all, everything could be googled, the whole point of a forum is a more comprehensive and interactive 'forum' with which to ask questions and get detailed answers.
as I said.. I already know about adaway and other apps which stop ads. I have already done a "simple search"
https://www.google.co.uk/#q=android+play+store+app+advertisements&spell=1+
first page 10/10 all results come back with different apps you can download. None of them specify this particular problem and may or may not be generic ad removers.
Clue: description of number 1 app result :
The Google AdSense app provides an easy way to access key data from your AdSense and AdMob account. Access reporting features anywhere, directly from your mobile phone. The first version of the app gives you access to: the key earnings information (that are now also accessible via widget), top custom and URL channels, ad units and sites reports, payment alerts.
Please note: YouTube revenue and revenue from the legacy AdMob are not available in this app.

Wrong.
This is a development forum, not a help desk. Take the Google search course, it will help you immensely.
Also, you posted in the wrong section. Questions go in Q&A and not here.

It was already clearly established in one of my posts that I did in fact do research, that's also a fact, please refer to the above post. Before coming here I already checked the first 10-20 links which were all apps.
Obviously research yields results eventually, which is why I already tried that first and posting here is an extension of that and also another method of "research" which by the way is always my last resort, not because I don't like forums, because I do, but I always do my best to avoid the obnoxious and repetitive "google it" responses you get, even when it's obviously not valid... and that's a fact too.
I think that these aren't Google ads... This happened to me before after installing a app. I don't remember what app it was but the app was sending me ads for crappy ads... Check the apps you installed since you started getting these notifications
