I think I lost my root after flashing a rom.
I went from Stock ICS to DeleciousSandwich rom on my
Sony Live With Walkman Phone (with rooted, cwm installed & locked bootloader)
and everything works just fine with the exception that my root apps are not working. They report an error saying no root access found
What should I do?

Hi there all! And happy new year!!!
Couple of questions,
First, Zoner antivirus found this the exploits, should i be worried?
1: File is infected: exploit.AndroidOS.Lotoor.G -sdcard/bluetooth/SdxAppRemoval-1.5.apk
I removed the app, scan, removed
2: App is infected: Exploit.AndroidOS.Lotoor.G com.caspian.android.removal
Phone is rooted by Superoneclick
Android: 2.3.4
Build: 4.0.2.A.0.42
Second question, if i upgrade to .62, will the phone still be rooted?
And finally, any use of lookout antivirus? Cus it did not seem to find any exploit, but Zoner did.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2012! )

Lots of apps keep on crashing (java error) and so
And i wanted to do a flash with wotan, but halfway it stops..

Did your device rooted? Try to install cwm recovery, then format system, format data, format cache, format sd card, dont reboot your phone, select mount sd card, then put one of the custom ROM (ex, SE Tweaked) to your sd card, unmount, then flash the rom, reboot.
If your bootloader was unlocked, i recommend you to flash inteks or doomkernel first, cause it has built in cwm recovery, so you dont have to worried if flashing doesnt work.
Use it with your own risk.
Let me know if its help.

Try going back/restore via CWM, then follow this guide, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1856287.
You just have to flash superuser in cwm and you are done... happened to me also
Look for superuser 3.1.1 on xda, that was what I used.
Hope it helps

Ya.. But whenever I flash optimax Rom even on .587 stock firmware the phone gets stuck on Sony logo. The bl is unlocked but still can't get into recovery after flashing the Rom. So Every time I have to reflash the stock Rom and follow rooting process again, did that thrice! Any advice?
Is there any other requisite before flashing the Rom?

Bootloader s unlocked.. Did you flash a custom kernel? Even if stuck a logo you should be able to go to cwm if you have a custom kernel...
About the getting stuck issue: did you do all the wipes?
Sent from my Xperia Neo V using xda app-developers app
Format system
Format data
Format cache is also to be done before installing Rom
Have you done that?

I thought you said bootloader was locked...if its unlocked then just flash a custom kernel...nd you'll have recovery. No need to repeat the whole flashing..rooting process again.

Can you suggest a good kernel which won't cook the phone, and why doesn't the ROMS have kernels built into it? Is it because the ROMS are built for all the neo phones?

No kernel will cook the phone. You only have to use GB kernel for GB ROMs, ICS kernel for ICS roms, etc. A new kernel will change nothing at your rom.
Sony doesn't allow flashing kernel via a cwm zip like on Samsung phones.

Hello friends,
I recently flashed stock Asia(India) .54 firmware and also relocked my BL but now I would like to root it but the binary method is not working for me. How to get root? I also did another method but I am failed to flashed. .10 is not flashing correctly whenever I try to flash this, it shows flashed successfully but when checked the version remains same ie .54.
I also have another problem that, when I connect to timescape or IM+ the internal facebook dialogue box is not opening and its asking to choose browser. Please help me
Sent from my MT27i using xda premium
To gain you root you need to flash .10 kernel, using flashtool.
Then try either flashtool method or Bin4ry method to root !

Well, follow this-
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/97327?start=0&tstart=0
It's really helpful. You need to flash the kernel first and then the ROM and then root. The guide above has all the links and steps. I rooted my Xperia P using this only.
