The only way you can do it right now is to follow the method here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078021
Back up the CID, delete it and use American firmware. You then get error message on startup about CID.
Or - wait for European release..might work for you.
Or, install AOKP 4.2.2, which is nicer.

Hey everyone. So I have installed the OTA Jelly Bean update (4.1.2) on my XT912 and I want to go to ICS so I can have root and maybe try OTA RootKeeper. I know it "can't be possible" to downgrade, but there's one idea I have. In ICS, **I created an "update.zip" file. This was basically a backup of all my things... Can I use "update.zip" to downgrade my phone from Jelly Bean to ICS?** Thanks.

Anyone?? I don't need a real answer. At least a prediction.
My prediction is that it won't work due to the locked bootloader hence the kernel will stay jellybean kernel
Sent from my JellyBeaned Droid RAZR Maxx
Yeah that sounds correct. I just need to wait for a root method I guess... thanks. Hurry up with that root method, ppl!

You can keep waiting. Ill see the s4 and s5 before i see an unlocked bootloader for the razr. By which ppl with razrs will move on to another phone

Yes, there's a thread for it somewhere around here, personally I would either try the dual boot option, or wait for the official ota, judging by the accidental leak I would assume they are working hard to push the official soon.

I can confirm this works with the OFFICIAL 4.1.2 release (not the December 24th one). Also, I didn't do a FDR. I DID enable the stock apps I disabled though. Also, when you unzip the root exploit zip file, do not rename the folder it creates. I kept running into an issue of it not working, until i just unzipped and ran the .bat file. It worked smooth after that. I was running .211 when I installed the OTA final update today, to clarify.

The phone is originally from US, i applied that firmware over 2.3 stock that came with it. Maybe the Cid is still american, is that right?

Hi,
I have been checking for JB update for Asia(India), However as we are not getting official update, so are there any way to update it to JB? What i want to know is that can i just take any JB sbf and flash it on Razr xt910 or need to do something else? Very confused now..and which SBF is more suitable for Asia(India) phones..Like i have seen people reporting problems with EU sbf like baseband problems etc..Anyone here from India especially who have updated it to JB and not facing problem then pl help.. Thanks,..
U can Flash EU ICS Through RSD Lite and then U can Update to JB through ota or manually update through Recovery.

Been running the jb Vodafone EU update. Followed the guide, kept my root and all is well.
Made a few changes. My 3g signal was always full but the internet access used to be spotty. Just patched the radio from the EU retail leak and all is well.
So go ahead and flash the retail EU leak. Don't bother with the Vodafone one. I was impatient so I'm stuck with this with root access or flashing the EU retail sbf and losing my root.
DM me if you have any questions or need any help.
Cheers

Its been officially announced by Motorola that Indian Razr & Razr Maxx will remain:good: on ICS and there will be no JB update so the better option is to switch to EU JB. I have switched and have no regrets..
