I enabled the pin lock for my phone..and accidently i might have typed in the pin too fast and got it wrong... Once i locked it I can't get back in again as it keeps saying..Incorrect pin.. After 15 attempts it says "Try again after 30 seconds" and this goes on.. Please help me! this is urgent! :crying:
It won't even show a "Forgot pin option or a restore option with Google account"
I'm using Omega v42
Not sure which pin lock you are referring to, but just go in to recovery and factory reset.
which will remove all the apps and data

Yup it did, that's why I was hoping if anyone could come up with some other way of doing it..
Anyway thanks nonetheless
There is no other way - if you choose a security feature, you expect it to offer some countermeasure. As you have found.
Don't forget to hit thanks...
could've tried formatting /system and reflashing the rom - should've worked, and the apps would be intact

Hi,
I got my SGS2 from O2 yesterday, went to check recovery mode is working ok and it is asking for a password. Has anyone else on O2 had this? For the short time I had my SGS on Gingerbread I got asked for the same when trying recovery mode.
Just tried on my unlocked T-Mobile phone from CPW and it goes in fine.
Blue text, Android system recover (3e), and options to reboot, apply update.zip, wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
Also this was done on a rooted phone although im pretty sure i also tried it before rooting and it still worked then.
Password is your screen unlock password.
It turns out it is because I had the screen lock set to a PIN.
Yep, If you have either a screen lock PIN or password set the recovery rom prompts you for them (although if you set a pin it still refers to it as a password in the recovery rom which can be confusing).
However if you set a pattern lock then no prompt is given.
nice to know
Thanks for the info
I was sure my recovery got locked by the store I got it from ... (If its possible)
After replacing my Email.apk without any security and canceling the PIN all is well.

I have the same problem here, but I had no unlock code and still it asks me to "confirm password"....
Yesterday I picked the phone from my pocket, and on the display it said that the unlock code had been entered incorrectly. As I always do I entered the code, but this time it said that I would have to wait 30 seconds for my next attempt as I had entered the wrong code five times. I did, but still it won't accept the code. I know it is the right one because I use the same code as my SIM PIN, which works perfectly fine. Also, my SO knows the code, and when asked to unlock the phone she correctly responded with "it doesn't seem to work?"
I'm using Lite'ning ROM, and on other foras I've read that it is possible to have the device reset through the same screen where the code is entered. On my screen the only option is to type the code, and a button for emergency calls. No "recover password" button. Still, by accident I found out that I could access the phone by pressing the home button twice, which would take me to the voice dialing menu, and it would then be possible to use it as normal until the screen is locked again.
Today, I did a CWM factory/data/cache reset, and reflashed an old backup. Still, it asked for the pin, and said that I had entered the incorrect one. I searched, and found out that to get rid of this I would have to flash a stock ROM. I did, and ended up in the notoric boot loop. The fix for this is apparently to wipe user data from stock recovery, but this requires the password mentioned earlier. Which means I'm stuck.
I tried reflashing the backup I had of the Lite'ning ROM, and wipe data/factory reset from there, but it still does not work with the stock rom.
So:
Any ideas? Is my only option to go to a service center and have it fixed? Will it be a problem that I've unlocked and reflashed it?
Are there other ways to do the data/factory reset? (Through Odin?)
Thanks a ton for any help!
TL;DR: Unlock code entered incorrectly in pocket, phone locked, unable to access wipe functionality and therefore not able to reflash stock rom -> ****ed.
If it's the same issue experienced by someone else on these forums, the solution given here was to keep typing wrong passwords.

It seems to be related, but I now did 50 attempts (where one has to wait 30 sec between every 5 failed passwords), and nothing happens. Will try to repost in the thread you mentioned, and see if they can provide a better explanation.
Anyone else have any clue?
Got it to work!
Basically, the post oinkylicious linked to had the solution. The password/PIN they are referring to is the one that we are prompted to enter when trying to do a data/factory reset from stock recovery. After a number of tries it will say that if you type the password wrong once more it might delete contents on your SD card. What I did was remove the SD card, and continue to enter wrong passwords. After a while it will the show some text (can't remember what), and let you go through with the data/factory reset.
OK. I installed an update to my ROM and restored apps + data to my phone and now the lock screen is stopping me from unlocking the phone. so i installed a bypass app to at least unlock my phone.
I need to either remove/reset the password so i can change it or have something to change the password.
Any help much appreciated!

Don't Matter Fixed it!
For those that have the problem get Screen Lock Bypass and clear settings/setting storage data on titanium or related. then restart and your password is reset/removed!
You'll have to redo your settings though which dosent really matter.
My wife has the Tmo LG V10 secured with google but she forgot the password to her account. So I decided to factory reset the phone by hitting the button combination and entering recovery. After the phone booted up it still asking for the google account password. And there's no way I can unlock the phone. Is there anyway to do this? By unlocking bootloader and installing a fresh rom? I thought on rooting it but I have to enable developer mode and I can't access it. Any ideas??

Can she get on another device and reset her Google password?
Log into Google and select forgot password and reset.
What screen is asking for the google password? The setup screen?

If you are unable to just reset the password and wait the 72 hours try this. http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f779/lg-v10-factory-reset-protection-frp-2064805/ this work around wworked for me a couple days ago. Or if it doesn't I guess you ccould always pay mrcertkings extortion of 20 dollars to use the tot file to fix. I'm sure he's already pmed you offering to do it for 20 dollars like he did me.

I also noticed this bug on 6.9.9, not after reboot but after restoring the TWRP backup which was taken a day before.. unfortunately there is no "Forgot Password" option, what i did is deleted the "gatekeeper.pattern.key", in your case you have to delete the "gatekeeper.password.key", you can delete both, nothing will happen, u have to set you passwords again, thats it. :highfive:
You can acess it, with TWRP's file manager in the following path...data>system (make sure your system is Mounted)
And Please dont forget to hit Thanks
will try

google aroma file manager, download the zip, and flash it in stock recovery... and you can do that from there,
or you can just unlock your bootloader unofficialy, req for locking permission, and again unlock it via official method, everything is just same.
and please hit the thanx, incase you have forgotten in previous post
