[Q] Update to ICS from GB! Custom ROMS, need help! - HTC EVO 3D

Hey,
it has been a while since I last flashed my EVO GSM.
I wanted to update my EVO to a ICS custom rom from a GB custom rom.
When i last flashed my device there was no ICS based custom rom, so i missed everything about that.
I already searched the forum but i did'nt found the answers.
To my current specs:
Hboot: 1.49.0018
Baseband: 10.59.9020.00U_10.15.9020.03_M
Recovery: CWM v4.0.1.4
Version: 1.20.401.8
CID: HTC_102
I already tried to flash a ICS rom, but whenever i try to flash the right baseband for the rom, it stops after parsing
the PG86IMG.zip. So i guess the only thing I need to do, is to flash a new hboot, right?
Is my recovery still usable with the new roms or should I install the 4ext touch recovery?
Can someone post me a link to a hboot update tutorial?
Thanks

Just S-Off your device and you can flash anything.

I then install PG41IMG and tab know work, but is under Android 3.2.1.
I tried Globaltron's downgrade from HTC OTA solution it doesn't work.

I WANT to do the same, download from LeeDroid HC to LeeDroid GB. Reading post 3 of the download instructions it sounds like to me I only need to flash a custom ROM if going backward and already S-off. If going to stock ROM though, you must do the other steps. Am I just reading it wrong?
back from S-OFF HC to S-OFF GB, you need to flash (via fastboot ) the file mentioned in post #3 according to your device model then flash the custom Gb rom

[Q] Rooted S-Off to Stock S-On

Hi, I have a Evo 3D GSM with S-off running a rooted ROM, what do I need to do in order to have my phone back to factory stock? Searched, but couldn't find anything related to S-Off devices.
Thanks
Flash a stock based Rom or to go full stock run an ruu that's compatible with your phone and won't update your hboot ver.

Since you are s-off, try downgrading your hboot to 1.4. That's the one I run and I can flash almost everything. The only roms I can't flash are ones that use the new kernel (which doesn't bother me).
Read, Search, Read again, ... Then Ask with Tapatalk 2
ive tried 1.4 i will try again but since im posting im pretty sure that it didnt work any other suggestions

[Q] Updating rom or firmware/radio from 1.13.651.1 to 3.15.651.13? Rooted & S-OFF
Hi XDA,
I just obtained LazyPanda S-OFF (after being rooted and HTCDev Unlocked/S-ON since I got my phone)
I'm still on my original rom and firmware my phone got shipped with, never took an OTA (thank god)
I have Titanium Backup PRO, and TWRP v2.4.1.0 (the latest version)
(I read that someone had to downgrade TWRP to v2.3.3.0 to install the newest JB rom - took him 3 hours of trying with TWRP v2.4.1.0 until he tried v2.3.3.0 and it worked) - Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2045929&page=62
Has anyone successfully flashed the new JB rom with the latest TWRP?
AND
If I flash the odexed rom (from -viperboy-) will that include the firmware & radio? If not, should I flash the firmware that won't update/include the newest HBoot? (or do I need the new HBoot?) I'm on LazyPanda's 1.12 (v1.12.xxx - the modded version) Or because I'm S-OFF it doesn't matter if HBoot gets updated/overwritten because I'll still retain root & S-OFF?
I just want to know what files to install, and how to install them properly (please include links and good directions) I already watched wwjoshdew's videos on YouTube.
Thanks in advance, zmag
Roms do not include firmware/radios.
The firmware updates are found here READ thru the last 10-20 pages before you flash any firmware...better to be safe then sorry.
When you are ready to flash use the Full Firmware
There is no need to update your hboot.
I have all my firmware updated including the touch panel drivers and I can use twrp 2.4.1.0 but if you update the touch panel drivers you can ONLY use roms based on 3.16. In order to flash a 3.15 JB rom you would have to flash the older touch panel drivers and use an older version of twrp AFAIK
Re: [Q] Updating rom or firmware/radio from 1.13.651.1 to 3.15.651.13? Rooted & S-OF
You can update firmware from my thread by flashing the latest (3.16) firmware.
As far as ROMs go, with TWRP 2.4.1.0 you won't be able to flash 3.16-based ones with an outdated update binary. If you want a 3.16-based ROM, you can flash MeanBean, or my stock rooted.
If you want to flash a 3.15 base ROM, that should be no problem.
Thank you for the heads up guys!
So I'm going to update just the firmware/radio for now: (with this file) PJ75IMG_Jewel_3.16.651.3_firmware_extended.zip - correct? (Sorry just making sure)

Yes, that is correct.
Thank you for guiding me through this captain throwback, I _finally_ did my first firmware update and everything works great.
I'm still on the original rom, until I decide if I want to update to JB (the touchscreen drivers are what's making me nervous to be honest)
All in all, thank you! I'll read through your thread and direct any further questions there if necessary!
So if I want to install MeanBean, and update the Firmare to 3.16, I can flash MeanBean first, then update the Firmware, correct?
I am on the stock firmware, running the stock OS, and have not taken any OTA's. Is there an issue with flashing the most current firmware, or do I have to "step up" by flashing older firmware updates in sequence until I get to the most current?
Thanks

As long as you use the firmware zips from my thread, you can flash the latest firmware with no problems. The order of flashing ROM versus firmware shouldn't matter.

[Q] Returning to stock, different basebands in Fastboot and "about phone"

Hi all, I have a International HOX+ CID_203 with ViperX+ from the day one (Mar 2013) and now is 2.1.1 with TWRP 2.4 and elite kernel.
I recently discovered that the baseband in FASTBOOT is 3.1204.168.32 with HBOOT 1.35.0000 (S-ON) while in About Phone is 3.1204.171.33
I wish to give it to my wife with stock rom or a different custom rom (she doesn't like snakes) but I'm worried about this different baseband.
What is the best path returning to stock and having the right baseband partition? I see two options:
1) Apply the last RUU available (http://androidruu.com/getdownload.p...Radio_3.1204.168.32_release_299688_signed.exe) with JB 4.11 and then get OTA updates to 4.2.2. Do I need to relock the bootloader?
2) Flash stock kernel with fastboot, relock bootloader and restore a stock backup and then apply firmware update (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2414238).
Can I re-unlock again if my wife wants a custom rom? I need to use the same unlock_code.bin or I must request another one?
Thank you very much for any hints
Up
