Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the best place to put this but since I'm kind of new I don't have much of a choice anyway...
My father is getting a Nexus 7 in the next few days and since I'll be using it a bit I've decided to put a custom ROM on it. I'm going with Paranoid Android because of the whole tablet UI thing, but I was wondering if it has a multiple user system, since I didn't see it listed in the features. I noticed an option for it on my Xylon ROM on my Galaxy Nexus and I'm not really sure how it works... Does it just change which Google account the device is linked to? Ideally it would be cool if I could set up a different launcher for each account. Anyone got some input?
Are you using 4.2 version of the Android. Nexus 7 came out with 4.1 and it should have probably updated now. But pls check if you are running 4.2, only then you can setup multi user. yeah and the different launcher thing . it is possible.

Yep, it's 4.2. I actually noticed it's a feature of Android in general and not a ROM addition.
So how does one switch users? Is there something similar to the Windows login screen?
Multiple users is actually available in all versions of Jelly Bean.
The user files are located in /data/system/users/
And user data is stored in /data/user/
The default user, primary account, is user 0.
You can download an app called User Management that will allow you to create new user accounts.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appaholics.um
There is also another app called SwitchMe Multiple Accounts that does this with a GUI for switching users like you would on your computer.

Using the app User Management here is what I get when I create a Guest account then hold the power button to bring up the power menu.

Thanks for the info, that second app looks great! I look forward to trying it out.
How can you bear to use that font though?

The font? It doesn't bother me at all. It's one of my favorite fonts to use.

Hello I am not sure if this is right place to ask but here goes.
I am using DXLJ2 Novena Alliance Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2014135 and I believe that it has the Wanam Lidroid 15 Toggle Mod baked in.
Wondering if it would be possible for the 15 toggles to have links to other apps besides the flashlight?
Apps I find myself using on a semi consistent basis are screen filter, hovernote, aircalc, and calendar but it would be great to link to any app installed.

I think I know what you desire, only I haven't seen anything like that in the notification window.
However! There is something you might be interested in. In the new releases it's called pie. There's third party apps you can install now though. Check out this app called pie and this forum post called LMT. You should be able to install one of those and you can set the triggers or gestures to open various apps!
I hope that helps ya out a little.
Thanks for the reply! I have yet to try pie, I think I would have to use a different launcher, other than nova to enable pie control?
I am tempted to try it, as my current setup is nice but I running around 600MB of RAM out of 720MB

and am constantly clearing the cache to improve performance. I found turning off background processes, setting limit to none, as well as forcing graphics acceleration helps considerably.
On my next set of days off, think I will do a refresh and give LMT a try.

LMT will work fine with Nova launcher.

Are the Nexus 7 ('12/'13) not supported? Google play won't let me install onto either of mine.
NO. It currently does not support the Nexus 7 OR ANY OTHER TABLET....
Put on your reading glasses and read the SECOND FAQ in the Screenshot...

You can sideload the apk, but you will still need a unique code to activate it though. You also need a custom rom to change the perceived resolution, as it needs to fall within the supported resolutions of Themer.
Well all in all, if you want such functionality at this time, look for Buzz Launcher until Themer is released.
Even if you sideload Themer onto a tablet, it shouldn't work.
We'll support tablets in the future. For now, just phones.

The Themer app itself is compatible, but there aren't any themes. Well, i guess that's it. I'll keep using Nova.

That will be great when its compatible! I just got a Nexus 7 two days ago and would love to use Themer on it.
I guess others could use ssLauncher, too. But it can be harder to configure.

No support for tablets at this moment, try out BuzzLauncher. It's like themer but runs on tablet.

Galaxy Reboot Tools
This is a little project I have had done for sometime now and now it is time for some feed back. It is just a simple app to reboot ect and some other cool stuff to go along with it.
Also this has been tested on the Note 3 Note 2 and Galaxy S 4
I would like to thank fernando sor and pvyParts for all the help these guys give. They are some amazing guys and I love working with them.
Download link (Download from your computer the link isn't working on mobile atm thank you)

I will give my opinion.
It was nice that you tried to compile the frequently used features of a phone into an app, but these features are also available in the phone itself (pressing power button, volume keys. etc.)
What you could do though (as a suggestion) is to have a very useful widget that has all the features that you have in your app. It makes it more accessible especially even in the homescreen.
As i said...this is only an opinion and a suggestion.
Hope it helps in any way.

Well sir widgets are in the plains for this app,and some people that flash Roms a lot actually like not having to put the strain on there power button all the time. For me now that I've built this app I've use it all the time. Plus learning how to reboot the phone into recovery has opened the door for other apps I have coming soon. Thanks for the feed.

Playing around with various launcher and this one is a work of art....The 3d option in settings says that the configuration is wrong when it's selected but I'm yet to find anything that doesn't work flawlessly....

Why did you post here about that program? That **** is nothing but a gateway for ads and a slower phone. I'm kinda pissed I downloaded it.
Late reply.....I'm sorry you didn't like...I'm running this launcher in it's various states on three different devices, I haven't seen any ads associated with it and all three devices are running smooth as silk....

Good launcher in lite version, but too expensive in full version ... Sometimes i must launch htc sense and launch again 3d launcher to avoid blocked screen ...

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Spend a couple years on the stagnant iOS of the iPhone and you will be begging for an opportunity to buy something like this. We are very lucky to have the option.....and it's worth every cent.
“Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing.”
-Oscar Wilde
I agree, and that's why I've never bought an iphone. But just for a launcher, I find the price quite expensive, and I'm not the only one, even if any work deserves payment ...
Poll is at the top of the thread. I've looked at the UWP classes and realised that these two projects are possible. I'm not sure which one I'd like to start first though so I'm leaving it up to you guys to decide. Do you want to see a package installer or app launcher for Windows 10 Mobile first?
P.S. After the app launcher is made, maybe we could replace the start screen completely?
(They will work on Desktops too but these projects make more sense being for phones only).
Poll has been added now. Sorry, forgot to add it earlier. Now you can vote!

Background tasks are still super limited though. Even with restricted/special capabilities being used. Sorry it just wouldn't be as good as the one on Android :'(
Well the majority voted for an app launcher so that's what I'm going to do. I'm also working on an app store if you haven't seen it already: https://forum.xda-developers.com/windows-10-mobile/creating-party-windows-10-store-t3640719
It's pretty much your standard home screen. Nothing super revolutionary, well not yet anyway...

Until Windows 10 Mobile gets cracked open completely, those apps aren't going to be made any time soon.
I actually got it to work!
Here is a GIF of the app launcher in action: https://i.imgur.com/wOEckrK.gifv
Well I've basically finished the App Launcher. (Link to thread about it is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/wi...d-games/uwp-app-launcher-source-code-t3667562).
Next up is the package installer
