[Q] Change Bootloader Version (RUU ERROR 140) - HTC One X+

Hi helpful experts,
Sorry if i start a new thread on this, but couldn't find much info searching.
In trying to get back the stock ROM, i managed to successfully RE-LOCK bootloader, flash the correct 'default' RECOVERY, and while on FASTBOOT, I ran what i thought was the correct RUU.exe for my HTC ONE X+.
THis was what i downloaded (took me 4hours with my 'excellent' internet connection! )
RUU_ENRC2B_U_JB_45_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.14.707.16_Radio_3.1204.167.31_release_290413_signed
I got this: RUU Error 140: Bootloader version error
Just in case this helps, here is what it says on my bootloader:
***UNLOCKED***
ENRC2B_U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.35.0000
CPLD-None
MICROP-None
RADIO-3.1204.168.32
eMMC-bootmode: disabled
CPU-bootmode: disabled
MODEM PATH: OFF
Please someone point me in the right link so that i can revive my phone again!
Alternatively which CUSTOM ROM can i download to use? (or does it not matter with those?)
I do have a Singapore RUU (zip file) - Phone was bought in Singapore anyway.
(OTA_EVITA_UL_ICS_40_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.23.707.2-1.88.707.2_R3_release_271714cuc2aig44kxs7wwc)
But i cannot flash it as I cannot get ADB working in my PC & also cannot be flashed through the All-in-one Toolkit.
Thanks in advance ...

Not able to flash the the shipped rom ( security fail!)

I have a big problem I hope you can help me.
I have Evo 3d GSM I'm from the Netherlands It's unlocked phone
It has the following
hboot 1.49.0018
shooter_u pvt ship S-ON RL
eMMc-boot
CID HTC__203
I unlocked the bootloader with htc method
I flashed king cobra rom
since then I'm not able to flash any offecial Europian rom
Every time I get the message 'Securety Fail!'
This is what I've tried:
1-RUU_Shooter_U_HTC_Europe_1.20.401.8_Radio_10.59.90 20.00_10.15.9020.06_M_release_219793_signed
2-RUU_Shooter_U_HTC_Europe_1.20.401.2_Radio_10.53.90 20.00_10.13.9020.08_2M_release_203403_signed
non of them worked although as far as I understand it should work.
Now I'm stucked with king cobra rom and wi fi is not working in this rom
So can you help me to understand what is the problem exactly and any advice to downgrade my hboot so I can try other rom which come with kernal. Or at least flash back the offecial rom.
Thank you in advance

Enable debug on your phone and go to your folder with adb and open a command Window and type adb reboot bootloader, after that the phone will reboot, if on top it says unlocked or revolutionary It's unlocked if it says relocked you can run the ruu. To relock the boot type fastboot oem lock
You need to change your cid to HTC__001

Unlocked bootloader

I think you have to relock the bootloader to be able to install the OTA and rename the OTA to PH85IMG, I did that but my phone still doesn't ask me to install the update after checking the image...

Hi! I have performed that update, and you must be s-off. Just follow noob-proof s-off tool steps, and you'll be able to update the 1.46 videotron update. As soon as you are s-off, just boot your device in normal mode, connect via usb to your pc, and double click on the update...it's all going by itself.
Good luck!
P.S. where did you get your hboot?? I try to run speed rom 7, but always get a message error after booting.
thank you

[Q] [Q Flyer] which RUU for my semi-bricked 1.11.0011

Hi
I am stuck on the bootloader, because:
- I unlocked via htcdev online
- installed CWM recovery
- I tried to install custom roms update-ics-yetki-1.0.zip LeeDrOiD-Flyer-V2.2.0.zip (unfortunately with s-on)
result: black screen on system boot, unable to go further than bootloader or recovery.
after relocking I tried to run :
RUU_Flyer_TMO_DE_2.27.111.1_Radio_20.3504.30.089BU_3809.07.04.06_M_release_204120_signed.exe
some errors on installing like 140, bootloader error
so I am not sure if this is the good RUU
before bricking my Flyer definitely I would like to know how can I know which is right RUU for my device to install?
The only information about my device I can get are those:
Flyer pvt ship S-ON RL
HBOOT 1.11.0011
MICROP - 0950
RADIO-3822.11.08.07M2
eMMC-boot
Oct 25 2011, 16:55:07
the device has (had) a T-Mobile (Germany) branding
cid: T-MOB101
version-main: 3.55.111.1
anyone a clue?
Thank you
You MUST relock bootloader first in order to flash RUU!!!
Go to fastboot and enter: fastboot oem lock. Then try to install RUU. Nice unbricking!

Thanks for reply
of course... I relocked it but update utility gives me error 140....
somebody thinks it's because of incompatibility of flashing an older version on a newer one,
I don't know if that has something to do with kernel, radio, baseband or whatsoever....

Ok, the only way I found to solve was flashing a
rom.zip retrieved from temporary files after launching the HTC update utility, (RUU.exe)
from RUU_Flyer_HC_S_HTC_TUR_3.62.468.1
I renamed the rom .zip to PG41IMG.zip,
then copied it on a goldcard, prepared before...launched bootloader and so on...
that was the only one without errors that finally worked...
now trying to flash a custom rom, I need phone functions....which rom?...

S-OFF problems-ish...

Hi guys,
Bought a Evo 3D second hand... GSM version.
Got it home, had a custom stock rom on it and had Revolutionary Recovery on it.
I flashed a MIUI rom to it and have been using that fine for a few months, now i have come to install a different rom and it installs fine but won't boot. It either stays on the bootscreen forever or just reboot cycles the phone.
Now the bootloader is unlocked but it doesn't have S-OFF.
I think i need to S-OFF to flash the roms correctly.
Here's whats on it:
Rom: MIUI v2.10.26
Baseband: 11.77.3504.00U_11.25.3504.06_M
HBOOT: 1.53.0007
Recovery: 4EXT recovery
HBOOT says:
*** UNLOCKED ***
SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.53.007
eMMC-BOOT

Just want to provide as much info as possible...
It would be fantastic if you could help me
Thanks
bump!
I suggest you RUU back to stock and use this guide to get s-off

Lock your bootloader with the "fastboot oem lock" command and run the RUU again.

EDIT: Now says relocked in HBOOT gonna flash RUU
Flashed the stock RUU, now i'm trying to unlock the bootloader again via HTCDev.com and when i copy the Identifier Token it says its too short. I am pretty sure i'm copying it correctly
solved... There were spaces in the box
So i am now S-OFF, i need to downgrade my HBOOT still...
How do i do that?
Right, managed to downgrade the HBOOT but still, when i flash AOKP it stays on the splashscreen forever....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906172
use this hboot. and wipe everything(data and cache) before flashing aokp

Your bootloader version would still allow using one of the available RUUs (i think the only possible RUU for this bootloader version is 1.17.401.1), but maybe your phone has the "wrong" cid for that RUU. There's a fastboot command that can read your phone's cid, but i don't know what it was right now and since i don't know how much experience you have using ADB & Fastboot, the easiest way is to get yourself some Toolkit from One X+ Forums (for example this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2430358) that can do this for you.
If your phone has an HTC__xxx CID you're lucky and should be able to use the 1.17.401.1 RUU.
Otherwise fastest way to make the phone boot again (my opinion) is unlocking the bootloader, installing a custom recovery and then use any custom rom you like (don't forget flashing the boot.img!).
Ok thanks for ur reply.... Let me try wat u saud
i get stuck on error 132 (customer ID error) whenever itry to run the ruu.... wat might the problerm be????.
ok i hav just unlocked the bootloader, and im trying to run ruu (v1.17.707).... it gives me unknown error...
pls someone should help me out here.
my htc cid is HTC_J15
