Hello all,
I work for a company in the commercial and residential services industry, and we are looking at possibly expanding into using tablets to help improve efficiency and customer service. However, there is nothing currently out that would suffice for our use, because the database we use at our main office is a proprietary SQL database program. I trying to get a good direction of where to look to be able to hire a programmer to create an Android program for us than can hook into our SQL database.
Any information or leads as to where I might be able to start looking would be fantastic!

From Desktop and Web to Android Devices : I Need Help
For over twenty years I have developed apps using Borland's Delphi and BDS development tools. I now want to migrate a subset of that functionality to Android devices ... but need help getting over the learning curve hump.
The general particulars are:
1. Master-Detail, content management. Multiple detail data tables for each master record.
2. Image gallery. See all images in the gallery or only those images which have been linked to a master record.
3. Taking a pic and linking it to a master record.
4. Ability to query for local businesses ... such as "Find <business name> within <x miles> of my current GPS location.
I currently have Eclipse and the latest ADK tools installed. Also, I have some Java experience.
Is there a place I can go to find a baseline source code framework that satisfies these requirements and demonstrates how to store and manage the master and detail data and links?

Im looking to hire a developer for an android application. The application is not terribly complicated, and we need it for our internal use primarly. We need to have the application check the location of a device and create tickets in our PSA when a tech goes on location then close a ticket when they leave. We also need the application to log phone calls (and text messages) as tickets when "clients" call/text someone.
I have a complete flow chart how the application should work. I am currently using 3 applications to accomplish the same thing, i would really like to build our own and have one app to run, as well as refine it a little.
Please contact me if you have the experience necessary to complete this and are interested int he work. I fully expect to pay for this development and am willing to pay accordingly.

Hello, I am looking Android App Development help please.
I would like to make an Android TV box app and was wondering if I can get some help creating one with the following requirements;
1) Looking for a Template, for starters, so I don't have to code one from scratch since I have no idea of what I'm doing
2) Configure the app to utilize a Username/Password which verifies the account on a server database that I control.
3) Hopefully it will be easy to include a link within the code that reaches out to an XML file on my server or whatever where I have a list of Video Streams/Feeds that the app reads and you can select what video you want to play.

GNU Health is an official GNU program with the intention, to deliver healthcare with Free Software (health.gnu.org or gnuhealth.org).
The project has recently released a Personal Health Record application called MyGNUHealth. MyGNUHealth allows you to record your medical data, as well as nutrition, physical activites and mental state. It comes without any 3rd party trackers and keeps the user in ownership of his data.
It is written in Python with Qt-bindings and was developed on the PinePhone. It runs as well on Desktops that support Qt (like KDE).
With this post I would like to ask interested developers to port the application to Android, as nobody of the current team has Android knowledge.
