I installed Koush's new Superuser app that was released and decided I didn't like it that much. When I uninstalled with a root uninstaller my previous superuser app (Chamber's) can't gain root access along with any other app. I reinstalled Koush's beta and uninstalled ChainDD's. Anyone got any idea how to get the original superuser back and remove the new one?

Download ChainDD's super user from play store and uninstall Koush's beta super user by any root uninstaller.

Hi guys here is a more or less new Superuser app from chainfire called SuperSU
It has more options and stuff and i'd like to use it. Can i just install the app and then remove the regular (by chainsdd) without any chance of losing root or something?

I just asked this yesterday!
I have installed SuperSU, ran it, gave it Superuser permissions (using Superuser), updated the superuser binary (using SuperSU) and disabled Superuser.
I plan on Deleting Superuser once I confirm everything works ok!
thx for the info I found another way to do what i wanted to do so i'll stick with the old SU for now. But thx anyway. Great to know its an option.
I've been using it on my Evo 3D since it's release with no issues. Haven't used it on my Prime yet.
Works with no issues on my prime

Hi guys i have a quick question about super user:
1- What's the difference between ChainsDD's Superuser and Chainfire's SuperSU?
2- Which one is better, more stable, and why?
3- I currently have ChainsDD's Superuser app installed as stated.in a thread here at XDA, but let's assume that i wanted to unistall the one i have and install Chainfire's SuperSU instead, how do i go about doing this?
Do i install it from the recovery just like i did whith my current one? And how do i even uninstall my current one?
--how do i uninstall the superuser app from my sensation 4g?--
Thanks in advanced
Hope anyone can help me here
Have a good one

for me SuperSu Better.
I believe the process for switching is install SuperSU, which will install a new, slightly different su binary. Once you have installed SuperSU (and maybe run it once), then you uninstall Superuser. If you want to switch back, install Superuser, let it change the su binary again, then uninstall SuperSU.
EDIT: And I don't know which is better, I have only used Superuser.
Well I've flashed a stock official virgin rom since I'm done with customs, the question its because I have superuser premium and it has the ability to go ghost mode (hide from upgrades so the device won't lose the root) but.... I know the rooting process leave my stock rom untouched being able to receive OTAs updates on my Gnex... but I don't know if the rotting process here will be the same... I mean will I still be able to get my OTAs (aka future ICS updates). On the gtab if I'm rooted?
My tab its carrier free, meaning ill get the OTA as soon as Samsung put the little file in the OTA server... I don't think I'm flashing custom ROMs as i love some Samsung apps wich need the touchwiz framework to work but at least in ICS I got the Nova launcher waiting so i can run Samsung apps with ICS AOSP looks...
Thanks in advance for the info

unrooting is easy. Use busybox app from market to remove busybox, delete superuser app from /system/app with es file explorer or root explorer, download superuser app from market, remove su-binary from /system/xbin or /system/bin. Uninstall superuser app.

i want to switch from super user to super su. Just because i think it looks better with ics. So what i did was download super user from play store, and open it. I granted it access and let it update its binary. Now super su grants all my apps access. So the next logical step i thought would be to uninstall the regular super user. but i cant find it in titanium backup? (i search for superuser, super, user and neither super su nor superuser come up)
Also once i manage to get the regular superuser removed i would have to move the super su to system apps via titanium right?
You ever come right with this bud? Also can't remove superuser app from foxhound Rom. Deleted it from system/app using root explorer but it comes back after reboot.

1. Install SuperSu from Play and update binaries. Make sure it achieves root.
2. Delete Superuser.apk from system/app using a root file manager.
3. Install Superuser from Play.
4. Uninstall Superuser thru Play.
5. Reboot phone.
No more Superuser and SuperSU should retain root functionality.
cheers mate. Updated to the latest foxhound and superuser went away. Having this issue on a buddies phone so will try your method this weekend and give feedback.
Appreciate the response.

On my gnex I easily changed super user apps. I don't know if it's because I'm still on a TW rom or the way the device is exploited it's not able to or a different process to change the app? Everyone uses supersu by chainfire but I would like to change it to superuser by clockworkmod. I've tried the uninstall for changing apps but I just lose root access.

Keep supersu installed, download superuser app of choice, update binaries of said app, then uninstall supersu. Worked for me.
