Hello all,
I was looking around the internet for the latest version of GApps on ICS & found a post on this forum which linked to the latest GApps for ICS (that I could find) which I believe is 4.0.4-390215, these particular ones were ripped from a stock Samsung ROM according to this - http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...hread.php?t=1794659+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk, sadly the links in the OP's .txt file were dead but I found them on some other site & the MD5 matches the one in the .txt file in the above post so I guess they are one in the same
I've updated a few of my older version APK's on my KFHD to the ones in this pack & haven't had any problems so far :fingers-crossed:
I personally only wanted the pack for the updated & version matching GoogleLoginService & GoogleServicesFramework APK's, but as pointed out below these APK's are almost certain to be OMAP4 optimised since the device they where intended for used OMAP4 which also the Kindle Fire HD uses too.
If anyone wants the ZIP file I've uploaded it here - Mod edit: Link removed.

its true because samsumg galaxy tab 2 have an omap4 chip, this apps come to galaxy nexus that use the same processor line omap 4 so yes they are optimized

kinology rom solved the same problem but that was an amazon problem
when updating these, is it necessary to clear data, force stop, etc. on the APK's you're replacing? Or can you just do an in-place upgrade, copying the files over the existing ones in /system/app?

Not sure it's entirely necessary but that's what I do & reboot after copying them as well.
just wanted to follow-up to say that the updated GoogleServicesFramework & GoogleLoginService APK's included in this pack are working great on my Fire HD, and the status/notification bars are much more reliable now. Thanks for this.
Do we have to change permissions?
With the NOOB install we have to change the permissions to R/W - R and R. Do we have to move the contents of each folder into its idententically named folder on the Kindle Fire and change the permissions of each file to R/W - R and R?

This is just a stock sense battery w/o the percentage. I only made this cause I worry about my phone battery A LOT and battery percentage makes it worse for me and I wondered if other people felt the same, so I'm sharing it here. It's really not much so don't criticize or talk crap about it. Just for those iffy people who HATE battery percentages. Enjoy!
Installation Process
- Unzip files into a folder called battery.
- Go into cmd enter " cd C:\AndroidSDK\tools "
- Then enter " adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk "
- Open the .apk file w/winRAR
- Go to res>drawable-hdpi
- Drag contents from the "Battery Folder" into drawable-hdpi
- Now, put framework-res.apk into SDK tools folder and " adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework "
- Enjoy

I tried it on fusion 1.18 and it deleted all my accounts and wouldn't let me resync them...is this only compatible with sense 2.1?

lol. just extract those .png files INTO A FOLDER.(Very Important) then move them to /system/framework/drawable-hdpi/ and reboot. =)
I found it but root explorer won't allow me to access the framework-res.apk...it won't allow me to paste them there, only options available for the framework apk are install,view and cancel when pressed.

First let me say that this is my first app. I wrote it so people could do quick backups of partitions without having to muddle around in a terminal emulator to do it. You just select a partition and click start dump.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I wrote it with the YP-G70 in mind. It should? work with other devices as well.
Basically this app just wraps some console commands so you don't have to type everything out.
Usage
1. Select partition from the top drop down.
2. Check the file size of the partition to make sure that the Output Location has enough space.
3. Tap "Start Dump"
Note: large partitions will take some time (Be patient)
Note: It should be OK to press home and do other things while MDump is working but I have not fully tested.

I think I recall it has a diferent partition layout.
It "should" work for just about any device. Give it a try and let us know!
The "partitions" are read from the device dynamically.

That's a good question. I have mapped out the US YP-G70 in another post.
[INFO] US SGP5 YP-G70CWY/XAA Partitions map (tentative)
I also wrote about how I did it. From what I have read, the G1 is more like the Galaxy S. Well, that is the impression that I got anyways (could be way off).
Hmm, I press start in your app, it does the loading circle for a split second, then it just goes back to the select screen. I guess it doesn't work for some reason.

So this could work as a backup for everything you have on your player?
Yes, it could... CWM nandroid backups would probably be a better solution in most cases but if you know what your doing you could use dd in adb shell to restore the partitions that you have dumped.
Yeah but the problem is that when i press flash clockwork mod recovery in the rom manager it doesnt show the galaxy player
This device is not yet compatible with Rom Manager but you can get CWM by flashing an appropiate kernel, either Entophy512's or rumirand's if you have the 5.0.

I'll be trying gapps-ics-20111125-2.zip.
ICS on the Touchpad is soo smooth, it's ridiculous. It didn't come with gapps, so I am attempting to find a proper working version. Also MTP isn't working for me, I'm getting a code 10(cannot start device) in windows 7 x64, and with no included file manager there is not an easy way to sideload. So be aware, but I am loving it!
Looks pretty rough around the edges. Ill probably hold off till some of the major issues are resolved. This is awesome news though and thanks so much to the Cyanogenmod team for developing this for us.

the tablet optimized gmail app is sooo much better i'm loving ICS! Everything including the old apps that I had on GB is working, and even smoother!!
This post fixed my MTP driver issues, and I had to force the ADB driver to install on an unknown device called "cm_tenderloin" and now all is well.
Has anyone been able to add their google account to the device? Mine keeps crashing.
Edit: I found the problem. I reset the device via CWM and installed the ICS Gapps zip and it's working now.
I dont have android cm7 installed on my device yet.
Can someone write a guide for installed cm9 from a clean device. Would be very much appriciated.

Yes, they all work just as well as in CM7. The native YT app also works really well if you turn HD off.

The ROM has been ported from Galaxy Ace(GT-s5830)(by Jusada) and is a cyanogenMOD 7 based ROM originally made for the HTC Desire by the AEDesign Team of China. The ROM is an exact replica of Apple's iOS with all its visual features.

(1)accelerometer
(2)GPS - Had got an instant satellite lock (inside a moving vehicle and also inside a building) and compass works great! (using I5500LUYJP2 baseband)
(3)GSM networks (tested EDGE and GPRS connections).. Please test 3G networks.
(4)Root access.
(5)Adobe Flash player 10.3 works in stock browser
(6)looks like an iPhone
Things partially working -
(1)Phone dialer - works but a little slow (don't know how to fix that!)
(2)Superuser app - Force Closes
(FIX: Update SU app using market)
(3)Some texts are still in Chinese (Calendar ,iPhone Gallery, iPhone weather)needs translation.
Things not working -
(1) wifi
(2)Bluetooth
(3)Camera- says "cannot connect to camera"
(4)audio - this gives me a headache!!(tried but couldn't fix it)
(5)microphone - might work if audio works.
And probably a lot more..
DOWNLOAD
Flashing instructions -
(1)make sure you take a nandroid backup of your current ROM for switching back easily
(2)flash using clockwork mod recovery as any other ROM.
(3)wipe data/cache (is a must!!)
4. wipe dalvik cache( just in case this doesn't boot!)(not recommended!!)

I didnt use any kitchen....
Just use apktools to decompile files....
would be willing to try it but the link you put up wont open tried on more than one computer using firefox, google chrome, and internet explorer any way that you could post a new link??

Its so sad to see that a dev works to his potential to bring some goodness to your phone (galaxy 5) and the only person who hits the thanks button is the user of another phone (galaxy 3) !!!! No doubts devs have a less support by the community here and therefore development is slow...

Why would you use Roms like that when you have AOKP iOS theme?
I've pulled the watch face APKs from my Movado Connect. The APKs need to be decompiled, signed, and recompiled before they are ready to be installed on other devices. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do that. I'm posting them here in the hopes that one of you fine individuals would find it useful to have them to port to other devices.

Install TWRP on watch and root it
Boot into TWRP
adb push [apk file] /system/app/
adb shell
cd /system/app
ls
chmod 644 [apk file name from ls]
reboot

I downloaded them from the link above and then used ADB to push them to the watch.

I got them installed on my watch, but they seem to be off center. I'm assuming it's because the Galaxy Watch4 and the Movado watches have different resolutions. Curious as to whether or not you found this issue as well, or if there is something I could have done differently. TIA
Yes I put on my GW5 44mm and the museum one seems fine, but most of them are of centered in a way where it looks like they are for a smaller screen. One of them the Dot seemed in the correct place, but the rest was smaller off the the left top.
