Xperia GO ST27i broken glass - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hello,
my Xperia Go fell from the table and now the glass is broken.
I want to order new glas+touchscreen, digitizer from ebay(from china), but some say
you cant replace digitizer without replacing LCD aswell on Xperia GO (LCD is working ok and i can use phone normal)???
Can't find any movies or instructions online how to change it so i could see if i have to replace one or both parts....
Thank you
BR

Why not check with the service center first how much will it cost to change from them instead of buying and then fitting it your self......
Just an opinion.....

The digitizer and display are two different parts. It depends on what he wants in specific? Some people think the touch screen is just one piece.
Display only -> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sony-Ericsson...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item45f3e21e36
Digitizer only -> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/XPERIA-X10-DI...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item3caeb8f15b
My advice to the OP is to get it repaired by a service center. Swapping the digitizer on this phone is no easy task.

[Q] Looking for Archos 101 lcd/touch digitizer

I have trawled the net for weeks on end. It appears no one is selling either the digitizer or lcd/digitizer combo for this unit. My unit's touch panel is cracked and I was hoping I could find a replacement and fix it myself. I can't even find a cheap Chinese knock-off. The closest thing available on the net is the LCD panel without the digitizer. My LCD is working fine.
If anybody has a dead Archos 101 with a good working LCD/Digitizer, I am willing to buy.
Anybody knows the technical specification for the LCD/digitizer? any part numbers? any substitutes that can work? I pulled mine apart but cannot identify any relevant manufacturer code/part numbers.
Thanks folks.
How much do you want to pay?

@pitflyer, PMed you about this.
Anyone know where you can get a replacement screen/Digitizer?
Mine is smashed and parts aren't easy to find for it
If not whats the best way to wipe all personal info from it when screen and touch aren't working? If its going in the bin I'd like to wipe it first
Had the same problem with my A70... you can find the LCD easily, but It seems like it's impossible to get the touch Digitizer ...
perhaps...

1) Connect to computer and install new firmware ?
2) Break it open and remove the SD ?
3) Set it on fire ?
4) All of the above in that order !

If the display itself is still working, but touchscreen is cracked you might enter recovery and wipe data partition and stuff.
Only power and vol+/vol- buttons are necessary.

I once did some research on the parts used for the A101 devices.
See this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16452190&postcount=12
There's a datasheet collection ready for download.
- TFT-Display is Chimei N101L6-L02
- Touchscreen is probably made by Pixcir using a Touchplus TR16C0 controller

Xperia ray ui board with vibration

Hi guys and gals,
I posted that on q&a but went unnoticed. Just want to check if there is hope...
My primary microphone is gone (water damage). It sits on the "UI board with vibration" under the home button.
Could only find it in two online shops, but not in stock for a month.
Now the developement part: is there a way to make the secondary microphone default -as ti is I see it is only used with camera. -This is for the time I wait for the new part.
Anybody has access to a new part quicker than in a month? Will settle for a used one.

Only thing I found was a micswitch, and all it does is changes the a1026 value in build.prop -or ment to change it, doesnt quite work here. Gave me an idea though, so I changed it myself, but makes no difference.
Since the primary stopped working I hear myself in the speaker, comming from the secondary, but for some reason that sound from the secondary mic is not feed to the remote phone...

Ok, we'll try it from another angle.
Cant get the part anywhere. Its still on warranty, I kight send it off, but not sure I want to waste time.
Is there any warranty seals that I didnt see when stripping the bottom plastics? As in, will it show at the service that I opened the phone? Also, wil they see "water damage" as they usually see -I didnt see any traces.

Have you try to clean it with this: http://www.amazon.com/CRC-05103-Quick-Electronic-Cleaner/dp/B000BXOGNI
or a similar product?
Thanks, I think its the lowest price cleaner I seen. Localy at my usual electronics shop they go for about 20.
I havent really noticed any moisture residue. Got the phone stripped right after and "hair dryered".
I'm just wondering, have they got any fancy x-ray os such that would tell them anyway?

Every smartphone have a water indicator: i don't know where is in the ray,but is a small piece of special paper that change color when get water.
sorry fo r my english...
Inviato dal mio ST18i
There is a water sticker on the battery and all over the insides of the phone. The bottom panel including. If even one of them is red, the warranty is not valid. My ray got dipped in water too, fortunately i managed to open it up and clean in fast enough, so no damage(except the lost warranty).
K, so I guess thre million dollar question now is where tyat sticker is oj ray. My phone only got the dipped to the top of home button (standing).
I'll chance it, since I cant find the replacement parts anywhere

Well, well well... just got the phone back from the shop. Warranty was a keeper and the Ray is fixed and good as new... or... as new. Lost root, toggles, and all the work done previously. On a bright - I can have fun doing it all over again and best of all - I don't have to rush unwinding the headset from the pocket just to answer the phone anymore.
Happy days.
Thank you Sony

LG Optimus Parts

Thought I'd share. May be useful to some who have had an unfortunate event...
I have not yet ordered from them, but will be soon. And I will report back with a review.

That's some pretty impressive profit margins, since you can buy the screen+ digitizer for about 3/5 that price on Alibaba.
Nice to see that if someone breaks their charging port it can be fixed for under 10 bucks... Nice one LG if only their software was on track with their hardware.
This is not sarcasm at all btw I am genuinely happy to see that I don't need to be worried bout my charging port.
So, my earpiece isn't working. If I wanted to order the part, would I need to get a whole screen with it?
Interesting. Hope someone can help clarify for me. My OG has a strip across the lower screen that doesn't respond to touch. Obviously a hardware issue. Do you guys think replacing the digitizer would fix it?

I had a strip across my screen when I had an Atrix 4G, and replacing the digitizer fixed it. It should fix yours too.
Sadly, E970 parts seem to be mostly out of stock.
Anyone know if a E975 digitizer/screen + front housing is compatible with a E970 phone?

Xperia P disassembly

Hey everyone, i have accidently dropped my Xperia P some time ago and the screen cracked ....
Today i am buying a Xperia P phone with a broken motherboard so i will use the display from that Xperia to replace it with mine.
Has anyone before opened/disassembled a Xperia P, is it hard and are there any pic or video tutorials?
I am not afraid to open it by myself but i want to inform myself first, i am also doing PC, PS3 and laptop disassemblys and repairs (not working but i know it) so i think that it won't cause me too much problems opening a modern smartphone?
I've looked a few videos and pictures of how to open a Xperia S so i think it has not that much differences ....

Look at Xperia u disassembly on YouTube, the guy takes the screen out, it may be the same so maybe it can help you, cant provide a link but it's not hard to find
