Hello,
What kind of protection you use on the router?
Try WPA-2 password on router settings, reboot the router and try again.
I hope this helps.

hi,
I create WEP secured wifi hotspot with my old Polaris.
I can connect to that network with my phone but tablet doesn't see it at all.
Like it doesn't exist.
Even if I try to connect manually.
In detected networks I don't have any WEP secured network, but I'm also not sure if there is any except from my Polaris.
I need this working by friday so I need help. Don't know where to start.
I have prerooted ICS upgraded sony tablet s
Thank you

I installed wifi manager and it gave me an answer.
This connection is ad-hoc and it is not suported by official ROM.
Now I need to find out a way how to connect to it.
I wold like to add [solved] to title but I can't find out how

Hi everybody,
first of all I have to say that the ICS-upgrade for XP was worth the waiting. It is super and many things improved. Especially battery life and the sound went better. ..
But here comes my problem:
When I connect the phone via wifi to my Fritz!Box 7390 (WPA2) I can use the network for a few seconds, but then it crashes. When I make an AP to the box with another router or a computer I can use the network normally, but I cant download anything from the Play Store. It just stucks at downloading. Browsing is ok. Sounds strange does it?
Upnp is enabled and I also tryed to forward the needed ports manually with no sucess. Of course the box has the newest firmware.
Do you have any idea?
Same problem with my Xperia P and FritzBox 7230 - tested it with WPA security and everything is fine for the moment. Can you give this a try? I´m not sure about that problem, maybe it is FritzBox related thing?

Yes, I just tryed that. It works, but when I switch to WPA I can't acess internet from my laptop anymore. Same problem with my gf's laptop. I also guess that this problem is related to the box. I 'll write an email to AVM. When I got new infos, I'm gonna post it here (assuming that collosus won't delete this thread )
I have the same issue with a FritzBox 7340. But it's firmware almost identical to the 7390. I'll test some stuff later today and report back.
Xperia P + Fritz Box
Hi Guys,
I also updated my Xperia P and started to have trouble with my Fritz Box Wireless (7340).
The problem described above seems the same as I concluded.
Does anyone have an update on this?
One strange thing, my wife also has a Xperia P and that one doesn't seem to f**k up the Wlan.
The same with Xperia U + ICS + Fritz!Box 7390

My Xperia U worked flawlessly with Ginger Bread over my Fritz!Box
Immediately after updating I got problemcs with the WiFi network and not only the mobile but the rest of the devices using WiFi were disconnected.
If the problem was on the side of the phone, in any circumstances it should freeze the network
Image that it could be possibe to block a WiFi network just turning on a buggy phone.
There must be something wrong with the Fritz!Box...
I had the same problem with the 6.1.1.B.1.10 on the Xperia U
It's an often recurring problem with this version of the firmware.
The solution was turning of 802.11n and only leave 802.11b+g enabled on the FritzBox
Some other people have had success with changing the security mode from WPA2 to something else
I solved it through opening a guest network on the Fritz!Box. It is secured with WPA. Found no other way.
Interesting test with a second Fritz!box
I have connected a second Fritz!Box 7570 to the first causing the problem ( Fritz!Box 7390).
They are connected in cascade: The 7570 has DSL, DHCP and NAT disabled and its IP address is in the range of the first one (7390) and it is connected to an ethernet port of the other one
I can connect now my Xperia to the 7570 wireless network and everything seems to work so far.
If I connect instead to the 7390 WiFi it freezes it
What is the use of Wifi direct and how to use it
Sent from my Xperia U using Tapatalk 2
It is wifi standard - something like bluetooth but for longer distances. You can detect other devices witch wifi direct and easily exchange info.
I have never used it coz have only one phone with it and didn't try to connect with PC, but if U have 2 phones supporting this standard than U can play...
I have laptop and it detect my phone but when i connect phone it asks for password and i don't know it where I can see password

Hi friends,
My Xperia Z2 is about six months old. Since last month its giving me a hell of a problem with WIFI. Whenver I switch On wifi on the divice, it slows down the internet on the divice itself further also slows down the home network speed (9Mbps to 1 Mbps and gradualy 0). When I switch off the wifi on my xperia, all other divices works great.Initially I thought its my modem issue, hence got a new modem and still the issue persisted. Furthermore this issue occurs intermittently -twice on thrice in a week and persists for a day or two, then suddenly runs fine.
Steps performed already:
1. WIFI and router settings are ok. Infact installed a new modem.
2. Phone repair and software update done on PC companion. ( Whenever I do this, it runs ok for a couple of days and then back to square one).
3. Tried using friends home wifi network and similar experience.
Had any of you guys encountered this issue. I have been asked to send the phone for warranty repair. However I am afraid, since the problem is intermittent , hope the repair guys would actualy able to find the issue.
Thanks for your help,
Regards
Abhijeet
any help friends?
Thanks
Try using a firewall app like AFwall+. Block everything and start unblocking your apps one by one. See if there is any rouge app in your phone
Good luck!

Also check to make sure you don't have conflicting ip addresses. My router would assign my phone and laptop the same ip address which caused issues. I manually set my phone to an address outside of the dynamic range.
