Please Help. Won't BOOT!!!

Complete noob here.
I was installing the HTC Home Customizer on my new HTC Touch Pro phone and there was a problem with the installation that caused me to reset the phone. Well, now the phone won't reboot!! It hangs right after Windows Mobile 6.1 loads.
How do I fix? Can I reinstall WM6.1, or can I flash a ROM? All information I've seen for doing this requires ActiveSync to be working. I can't get the phone booted far enough to get it ActiveSync to work.
Please don't tell me I've bricked my phone!
Can you at least attempt a hard reset?

Do you mean, yank the battery out and then reboot? If so, yes I've tried that.
Okay, I found the wiki explaining what a Hard Reset is.
Negative. Holding VOLUME DOWN and CENTER buttons while RESETTING the phone does not help. Still locks up immediately after you hear the tone played at the Windows Mobile Boot screen.
Other suggestions?
Looks like I forgot the part about holding the Power button while doing a Hard Reset.
Doing a Hard Reset correctly, did fix my problem. THANKS GUYS!!!

Ah ha, you owe me LUNCH !!!

touch screen doesn't work!

what can i do?
All depends on why.
When did it start? Have you done anything with the phone?
First thing would be to try a hard reset to see if it's a software problem

Herm100 to Herm200!!!

Hello friends!!!
i am very much new in this field. i have Orange SPV M3100. i updated its Rom to K's Rom. My WIFI was dead. i read the thread "dead wlan due to erased EEPROM" which helped me out to solve my problem. but during this process, i dont know when, my Herm100 converted to Herm200.
now the problems i am facing are that i cant SOFT RESET my herm using stylus. i want to update Rom using SD card, but as i cant soft reset, so i cant.
i will be very thankful to all u guys for helping me to solve my problem. i am alreadt thankful to XDA_DEVELOPERS.
plz explain in detail.
you can use the power button or take out the battery to reset.
thanks brother, but i thought taking out battery might cause some problem to my Hermes. anyways, i am already using the same method. but the question is
"why my hermes doesnot soft reset when i put the stylus in the reset hole"
what might be the problem?
if your presing and not soft or reset , maybe your reset button its broken or need a resoldering this (internal) for check you need open the htc and check the pins conectors its correctly soldering to pcb, it is in warranty go to your SAT

A guy on this forum tried to root his dads S2, he flashed the wrong root via Odin, now his phone go's on, showed his phone model, yellow triangle and shut down.
Flashing a good root isnt a solution cause Odin stopped at 80%.
He tried a tutorial but that doesnt work.
Version: 4.0.4

There is no such thing as a "Soft-brick". Your device is "bricked" when it will not power on or go into download/recovery and there is no current fix other then extra hardware like JTAG/mobo replace. There is no soft of hard bricked, there is just "bricked".
You cant just label every occasion when a n00b cant seem to figure out how to flash his device a "soft-brick" that is absolutely ridiculous.
If you can flash your device in one way or another then it is not "bricked".
Its already fixed, after following the tutorial twice it succeed.

i think it's called soft brick because of unusable soft-ware. Applies to this case.

His point is that the term "bricked" originally referred to a device which is now only good for one use - as an actual brick, i.e. something to build a wall with. The term "soft bricked" was a term that was conjured up by n00bs who couldn't deal with installing incorrect firmware or software. It was also not because it was referring to software, either. But to differentiate it from a "hard" brick. (which, in my opinion, is the only kind of brick)
You wouldn't use a brick that was soft to build a wall, would you?
That's awesome semantics....this post should be "stucked in boot" then.
Terms seem to differ from one another; We got hot shots that get pissed at technicalities and hot shots wanna be that ware a "never bricked a device" tattooed on their chest. Then there are other people that messed up with a flash and get stucked with a useless device....until someone comes up and say "hey, cant fix this for you in 15 mins" (xda anyone?).
Semantics & semiotic....we all interpret it in our own way...and since there's no bricking bible, we all can discuss about the apropiete title for the concept till ther is actually one.
We all got what the problem was, right?
PS: i've never seen a soft brick before, is it like a sponge?

a brick still serves a purpose...
a bricked ph by your definition has no purpose...
a [DP] Dead Phone would be more apt... in the other instance - [NHD] a Noobed Hindered Device would be more apllicable
Then what is the meaning of unbrick? Do you melt it down, smash it up or means something else like UNbelievableBRICK?

Indeed :good:
As I've aid many times, There is no such thing as a "soft-brick" or "hard-bricked" there is just "bricked".
If you can power on and simply re-flash your device by normal means then its not "bricked", simple as that.

[Q] Hard Bricked

Description: It started when I was flashing faux's kernel in TWRP on top of hyperdrive rom. Before flashing I wiped dalvik/data/cache .I also deleted my recovery to free up some room thinking i could use djrbliss' soft brick fix on odin from my computer if something went wrong but that was a mistake. The flash failed, I tried to reboot the phone it shut off. It even go into odin/recovery so that means its hard bricked .The possible solutions I've come with are 1. buy a j-tag 2.ship it to mobiletechvideos.com 3. insurance. I prefer buying a jay tag because i could fix bricks in the future but i don't know if it will work for sure .
Question 1: What is the best solution to fix my hard bricked phone?
Question 2: What caused the hard brick?
Question 3: Will a j-tag work with the SCH-I545 ; in my situation and if so how reliably?
I didn't do any research before i did any of this, I was careless and I'm paying for it.

Hey Brother.
What exactly do you mean by "it shut off and is hard bricked"? Specifically what happens when you poweron the device.

A hard brick is unlikely, not impossible, but unlikely. Can you get into download mode? try several battery pulls and try to get in to download mode after each one.
Hard Bricked
When I tried rebooting it shut off black screen, doesn't register when plugged into computer and odin/recovery doesn't work. When i woke up this morning it was warm last night it wasn't if that means anything.
So you can't get in to either Odin mode or the Recovery mode?
