But first you can try following in your terminal emulator:
Type SU and hit Enter, it should ask you for Root permissions, grant them and after that you should be able to restore CID using dd !
IF DOESNT WORK TRY THIS
Reboot your phone in AP fastboot
First i've flashed following
fastboot flash mbm allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin (i took this file from Chinese JB ROM)
than after that i've rebooted to bootloader
fastboot reboot-bootloader
than i've flashed CID
fastboot flash cid cid.img (you need to copy CID.img backup to your computer)
Than you can reboot
fastboot reboot
And everything should work !
C:\fastboot>fastboot flash mbm allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin

I have used bmm 0.2.7 as its the one with green robot on splash screen
for what i can see your cid was restored successfully.
get rsd lite if you don't have it.
get a firmware from where http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_spyder/list.php for example http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umt...PDRICSRTCEE_HWp2b_Service1FF_fastboot.xml.zip which is latest retail central europe or whatever you want.
go to rsd lite open firmware, get into fastboot if you are not already. flash the firmware, wait until is ok.
boot to normal recovery from cmd: adb reboot recovery
wipe data/factory reset
and you should be good to go.
Why? Whats wrong with the ROM i've installed? what makes you say that it will work with these?
My CID.img file is lost
Hello friends,
Can anyone mail me the cid.img file.....
mine is lost and i am unable to restore back my XT910 to ics....
the phone is not mine and i am screwed as i need to return the phone to my friend. but now as the cid.img file is lost, i am unable to restore it to the original state...
please someone help me.
my mail id is [email protected]
thanks:crying:
Of what I've heard you cannot do this as your motherboard will accept only the ONE cid.img that it's been build to work with. You apparently will have to send your phone back and it will cost you big $$ to get the parts replaced and matched.

I appreciate your efforts in helping somehow but it does not seem to be going anywhere at this stage.
A lot of us are having this same error and most have let go of it and are doomed to boot via bp tools. I think it would be a good idea to explain the whole logic behind the actions in order to fix the error, this wont be helping just me
Cheers mate
Your system and data will be wiped, the internal and external sdcard will not be affected, I gave this solution to restore your mobile to the default firmware you had.
If restoring the cid and flashing ics kernel doesn't work, that is the only way.
Your data might remain if you flash the firmware and then boot normally it happened to me once but if it doesn't boot you need to enter default recovery and wipe data/factory reset before using the phone.

Hello,
i used insecure boot and root trying to root my phone, which was a huge mistake as i noticed a few minutes later since i cant startup anymore and only get into bootloader.
Now I'm trying to flash my stock rom back.
My CID is VODAP102 and my Version is 3.14.161.27 so i downloaded the rom and tried "fastboot flash boot boot.img" the result is:
sending 'boot' <8192 KB>...
FAILED <data transfer failure <Unknown error>>
finished. total time: 0.158s
So well yeah, can anyone tell me why I get this error and how to fix it?
anyone?
push
so this is a rather rare problem it seems?
Ok try flashing rom using android download tool.

Not working, which is probably no suprise since it works with the normal files.
Here is my issue, will try to explain as much as I can:
So I got the phone only booting to the LG logo and no further. So I read a couple threads which were mentioning about the LG Flash tool that I could try to use to restore the device, that did not work. So I tried to do Fastboot to see if that would help in any way. After trying, I was able to get Fastboot using @Lelus method ,now I cant get back the S/W upgrade mode, trying everything i could think of and still no progress. Would really love to fix this device and appreciate any help I can get.
days , I can help you. First download the drivers for your phone (if you have already remove them and re-load )
Next, download the LG Mobile Support Tool .
then go to your phone S / W upragade Mode (Press the volume up or down on the start)
then start the support tool as an administrator.
then press the Settings update recovery .
on the 90% of the phone restarts functional.
If you have any problem just say it to me!

Already tried all that. Phone does not boot or nothing. I can only access fastboot. I cant even flash the ICS u and x boot. When I try it says remote: partition doesn't exist.
Can you flash recovery through fastboot, and then acces it? I had similiar problem to yours, bricked my phone, barley made it to fastboot, i then flashed recovery using fastboot flash recovery recovery.img then booted to recovery and applied backup, or you might aswell flash a rom, if you don't have rom on your SD, use other phone to put ROM on sd, or card reader etc., the just install it. Just incase. i added recovery.img to my post.
Forgot to mention, after flashing recovery, try fastboot reboot recovery

Hello all!
In an effort to try and help Boost Mobile users out, I have put together a stock restore guide for the Moto E 2015. There are other versions of a stock firmware guide, but those are for GSM and others not using CDMA. Here you will find steps to restore your Boost Mobile Moto E!
First off, I am NOT responsible for damaging your phone or any user error. USE THIS GUIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
If you are here reading this guide, you have either bricked your device or just want to go back to the stock firmware. If you are using a custom recovery such as TWRP, any saved nandroid backups will be lost if saved on internal storage. This will factory load 5.0.2 Lollipop fresh out of the box the day you got your phone!
Firstly, you will need ABD and Fastboot and Motorola Device Manager. You can download Motorola Device Manager directly from here.
I have attached ABD and Fastboot to this post for download.
To use ABD and Fastboot, you will need to make a new folder and extract the zip to the new folder and name it fastboot. From there, you will need to launch a command window from that folder. The easiest way to do this is to to have that folder selected and Shift/right click and "Open command window here". From there, if you have done this right, you will have a command prompt window ready to go!
After you have setup your new folder with ABD and Fastboot, you are ready to load the stock firmware to your Moto E! Download link is here
After you have downloaded your stock firmware, double check to make sure you have XT1526_Updated_SURNIA_BOOST_5.0.2_LXI22.50-14.6_cid9_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
Extract the contents of the file you downloaded to the folder where you put your ABD and Fastboot in.
Once you have everything ready to go, power down your phone and put it in bootloader mode. Hold power and volume down for a few seconds and you are there. Attach your USB cable from your PC to the phone and be ready to load several lines of code. Flash these codes in order. Copy and paste if you like in to your command prompt, one line at a time!
Code:
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot oem config carrier
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
Once you have done this, restart your phone and wait a few minutes for the boot sequence to start. If you have done this right, your phone will be factory fresh with the stock firmware on it!
If I was able to help out, hit thanks! :good:
This is my first guide and I had to look everywhere to find out how to do this for Boost variants, and hopefully it is ok for everyone to use!
EDIT: I updated the download link. Sorry about that.

No. There are certain steps to relock the bootloader, but it does no good now. You can still OTA with an unlocked bootloader, but as far as factory warranty goes, its void as soon as you unlock it. The only reason you would ever want to relock it is if you were giving the phone to someone who didn't know anything about rooting our phones.... it just doesn't do any good.
Thanks. I may try this, but not until after I flash cyanogen 12. That won't be until they get LTE working on CDMA Boost Mobile variant.
Also, why do you need to have Motorola Device Manager?

Hey, this forum looks really helpful, but unfortunately the stock firmware zip link isn't working for me. Is there any other place that you might suggest getting it from? I do have two of the same phone if it's possible to retrieve the firmware from another one, but I wiped my first one which is why I'm here in the first place. Thanks!
*EDIT: Hey, no worries, I found another file of the same type, but I can't post the link yet. (Follow the Moto E 2015 thread to general to "| Read Before You Flash | Unlock | Restore | Stock Firmware |," follow the link there, and find the other, newer, XT1526 file.) I just installed the drivers, got the minimal adb/fastboot zip, and followed the commands given above. Thanks for your help, everything is fixed now, even my service is back!
Will you provide the link when you can?
I could use a link as well :|
Sitting ducks until i can flash stock back on.

is there any way you could pm me a link to a working xt1526 rom?
Download link is updated.
Does this remove account information and installed apps? Do you have to activate phone with Boost again or no?
Nevermind. I just went for it and the answer is Yes, it removes accounts and installed apps.
And No, you do not have to re-register with Boost Mobile. Full system restore.
Confirm working for Boost Mobile XT1526 CDMA LTE.
Thanks so much for this thread. You're going to save SO many devices!
After flashing this my stock recovery gives me a dead android (on it's back with red triangle) How can I get stock recovery back? Can I flash stick recovery via adb?
Edit: So after further Googling, my understanding is that the red triangle android is supposed to be there... but I've tried all the suggested button presses to get the actual menu to appear. I'm trying to get the menu on the Moto E 2015 CDMA LTE Boost Mobile.
Can someone tell me the actual button combination to get the stock recovery menu to appear?
Edit: OMFG! People are so stupid... I'm going to make my own youtube video and post it for our phones.... All of the guides were wrong!
To enter recovery menu (after android with red triangle is displayed) press and hold power for 3 seconds, then tap the volume up once.
I will post a video on how to do this for moto e 2015 CDMA XT1526. Hope this helps anyone else who was confused/concerned about their stock recovery partition not working after flashing back to pure stock.

You're entering the commands incorrectly. For example, the first command in your example should be "fastboot erase modemst1", not "fastboot erase D:\ADB\XT1526\modemst1". Enter the commands as shown in the first post of this thread.

If you do this after updating to 5.1 ota will the phone still work correctly?
Meaning you will be back to stock recovery, stock system, stock firmware, and Android 5.1 OS?

sorry, I didn't be to explicit, yea Im asking to somebody to link me a rom or a nandroid backup or a twrp backup of the moto e tx1526 cdma sprint, because I already try almost all of the roms and non of them still working for me, and I delete accidently my own backup.
or probably still not release some sprint rom's?
I didn't find your specific ROM yet but there were XT1526 ROMs which may help from this note I made for myself back when I needed mine... Its possible that a similar ROM may work for you. Just make sure you are using GSM version if you are GSM and vice versa: Installing incompatible firmware can lead to hard bricking.
Do not rely on these links to last. Some are already down.
RETUS = Retail US
TMO = T-Mobile
This is the only source of leaked Moto E Firmware. Some Links are down. The XT1527 TMO (T-Mobile subsidy) version works but it may lock only to Tmobile. I assume you can flash to any of those carriers to inherit their subsidy.
FileFactory
Flashing a compatible ROM will not:
Mess up Fastboot
Lock bootloader (it is possible to lock it, however, locking* the bootloader could screw up your last chance of restore.
Flash a compatible ROM will:
Overwrite Recovery (easily reflashed)
Remove Root (easily reflash)
Reset everything to near factory settings.
Fix Baseband
To reflash ROM:
I've put together some commands that are needed to flash the rom files. Copy and save as [any_file_name].bat
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase customize
fastboot oem config carrier vzw
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
Save .bat file to the same directory as the rom files.
Have Fastboot installed.
Have Moto Drivers installed.
Boot Moto into Fastboot mode
Load terminal and confirm connection to device. (Type "fastboot devices")
$cd into a folder with extracted .xml files.
In terminal, type [name_you_gave_file].bat and it should automatically start flashing the rom files.
Reboot phone and it should be* restored.

Good luck!

Huh, I tried again and this time it worked. The problem was that previously I used a script to flash and it did not include a fastboot invocation for the last piece of the system image.
Yea that does to me too, but don't use BOOST 5.1 instead use Boost 5.0.2 and once you started it will ask you on your phone to OTA upgrade

Did you make sure to unlock your bootloader?
Also, you shouldn't bump a year-old topic.

Ya I gave up. Thank you
EDIT: ALSO, use usb 2.0 ports to flash stuff, usb 3.0 is not working 100 percent yet.
EDIT, 14 Mar 2016: Kingroot got me to root and now I have twrp installed, http://www.kingroot.net/ .
I have a Sprint prepaid Moto E 2015 LTE, XT1526. I did the motorola bootloader unlock, that went fine.
The phone works and is activated on RingPlus, when it boots, I get the Red Warning, Bootloader unlocked, when normally booting.
When I try to flash a recovery to the phone (all that I could find here on XDA), I get this response:
S:\Phones\Moto_E-2015-2ndGen-XT1526\adb-and-fastboot>fastboot devices
TA0XXXXXXX fastboot (edited to take out SN)
S:\Phones\Moto_E-2015-2ndGen-XT1526\adb-and-fastboot>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
target reported max download size of 268435456 bytes
sending 'recovery' (12916 KB)...
FAILED (data transfer failure (Unknown error))
finished. total time: 0.015s
S:\Phones\Moto_E-2015-2ndGen-XT1526\adb-and-fastboot>adb kill-server
I've tried everything, and am providing as much info as I can, in case anyone seeing something that is 'new' or 'different' about my phone.
Double check and be sure you're attempting to flash the TWRP for the Moto E 2015 LTE "Surnia", not "Otus" (which is the Moto E 2015 3G). iirc, I used Squid's TWRP from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015/development/twrp-squid-twrp-recovery-moto-e-lte-t3137649 . If 3.0.0 doesn't work, try 2.8.7.
You should also try changing USB ports. I ran into a similar issue where I wasn't able to flash things when I plug into my most often used USB port. I suspect that the contacts got worn from how often I used it, so I tried another USB port and it worked fine.
I have done same procedure as yours and meet same problem yesterday.
I flashed twrp recovery with following command,
fastboot boot recovery.img
instead of
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
here are the post which I followed.

You can get rid of the warning by method in post 2 of this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-moto-e-2015-t3045748
Q1:How to remove the unlocked bootloader message?
Then, flash the twrp recovery again. Make sure you have right recovery.img. here is the one I used.

I know that, does not help. I've tried that recovery, one from cyanogenmod also, the recovery img is not the problem. Thanks anyway.
go to phone options and turn on USB debugging and when you go to flash it..
- turn off phone.
- hold volume down and power to get to boot loader screen..
Leave it there and connect to PC.
It should be showing you the bootloader screen.. you know what that is right ?
Then open "Minimal ADB and Fastboot" install folder..
Right click empty folder space while holding shift key down..
Select open cmd window here..
type in either,
fastboot devices
or
mfastboot devices
and make sure it says your device is listed
then paste into cmd window..
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
make sure your new recovery file has that name and is copied to that fastboot folder.
that should be it..

As stated in my OP, I've done all that, but I'll do it again, please look at my pics and post, you'll see I've done all that already:

TA00000000 fastboot (edited to change serial number)

Can a DEV please help ? If I need to go back to stock I'll be glad to do it and then unlock the bootloader again, however, I've posted in two diff forums trying to get someone to tell me the correct SPRINT img to bring back to stock, no answers.
XT1526_SURNIA_USC_5.0.2_LXI22.50-29.1_cid9_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
XT1526_SURNIA_REPW_5.0.2_LXI22.50-56-1.1_cid6_subsidy-REPUB_CFC.xml
XT1526_SURNIA_BOOST_5.0.2_LXI22.50-14.8_cid9_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
I think it's the boost, but it doesn't have the SPRINT label on it, like my phone.
You just said,
"Can a DEV please help ? If I need to go back to stock I'll be glad to do it and then unlock the bootloader again"
So why would you say that ?
Did you relock your bootloader ?
Maybe that is why you are having a problem ?
I never have relocked mine eh..
And i have had no problem flashing TWRP from Squid.. all his various updates overwriting the old one.
I have flashed a bunch of stock retail recoveries too and all of those worked fine too.
I am curious did you try and load recovery after to see if it actually changed or not ?
EDIT:
Can i ask you exactly what Custom Recovery you are trying to install ?
And did you verify the MD5 hash ?
I always do *if it's available..

So why would you say that ? On other models of phones it has solved a problem of this nature.
Did you relock your bootloader ? Of course not, if you had read the post, you would see that.
Maybe that is why you are having a problem ? No
I never have relocked mine eh.. Good for you, that doesn't help me.

Can i ask you exactly what Custom Recovery you are trying to install ? Surnia and CM's recovery, no difference.
And did you verify the MD5 hash ? Yes.

I've done all those things and tried to post as much info in my OP. Is there a Dev that can help me?
I've now tried to go back to stock in an effort to unlock this biatch using XT1526_SURNIA_BOOST_5.0.2_LXI22.50-14.8_cid9_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml, and it wont let me do that either. It's not letting me write to the GPT partition. This leads me to believe my phone is NOT unlocked, even though the bootloader shows UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER. Anyone know an answer?
I noticed something a while back when I attempted to flash recovery on a different phone (nexus 6) but failed. I tried a bunch of stuff to no avail. The solution was to simply get a new set of platform tools because mine was too old. Doesn't hurt to try.

Thank you for trying. I just found a post, (and now I can't find it), but the guy went through what I did, and then he used KingRoot, http://www.kingroot.net/ , and it worked.
So, I tried it too, and magic, it worked. I now have root and TWRP installed.
I could have sworn I tried KingRoot, but it must have been on another phone I had.
Are you sure your recovery file is called recovery.img and not twrp.xxx.img? If not you need to rename it
Another problem I had, I was using a USB 3.0 port on my computer. This is a not the way. Using a USB 2.0 port works on flashing stuff.
Hi faheyd, I also have XT1526 on android 5.0.2, but kingroot fails. I was told not to update OS to keep it working in India.
Doess ur phone run on 5.1?
Does USB debugging needs to be activated?
