Hi again .
CWM and xrecovery are both recovery versions used to flash new ROMs. You can only use one or the other. Assuming you are on stock kernel, install xrecovery as described in many tutorials.
CWM comes preinstalled with pretty much all custom kernels, which you can only use with an unlocked bootloader.

No, not at all. CWM and xrecovery are basically the same thing. What I meant was that, if you are on a custom kernel, you don't have to install CWM again, because it is already preinstalled. You don't have to unlock your bootloader to flash a custom ROM, all you need is root and xrecovery.

If you have no solution and have unlocked bootloader, then try installing a custom kernel.

Try Rom Manager from Play Store.
You can boot in touch recovery by turning off your phone, then press and hold power button + home button + volume up
Wait until the recovery shows up and release your fingers.
Edit: Or just reflash cwm recovery using cwm apps if you want to use cwm apps for backup/restore

As I suggested earlier, use ROM Manager.
ROM manager is not the way I would suggest as it doesn't support many phones and is known to have caused a few bricks! Best bet Google! Find your recovery flash it thru the one u have if possible, or do it thru bootload USB

This.
Don't use ROM manager to flash anything.
@OP just flash cf-root, that installs recovery when you flash it

There's a chance of it going wrong and bricking your phone, a lot of people will tell you not to use ROM manager to flash anything, downloading stuff with it is fine, but flash through cwm.
Better to be safe than sorry.

As far as I understand, you only need a rooted Phone with stock kernel and xrecovery installed. In the x10 mini pro section, there is the same ROM, so I guess that is a port fo x10 mini. It seems as if you dont have to unlock your bootloader to use it. Why dont you just try flashing it via xrecovery?
Good luck!

Nothing happened, it download and flashed, I granted adb su permission but could not enter CWM after boot.
I think to install through this file is easier than the above method...
Connect ur device
just extract this file and open install.bat and after sumtym cmd will report Profit!! click any button to exit and cwm is flashed....

Yes the rooting is the same and the link developweb gave you is the easiest instructions and it is how I rooted my I717r. However....
If after installing Recovery (cwm or twrp) and you reboot into recovery to install superuser you find out you still have stock recovery installed then you need to do an extra step. Depending on how your phone was updated there may be a script installed that restores the stock recovery. So after you install custom recovery remove your battery while it is rebooting. This will prevent the script from reinstalling stock recovery. Then boot into recovery yourself to install superuser.
Info about rooting the Canadian version is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775263
I rooted my I717r with ICS installed. I installed ICS using odin and the script was not on my phone. I believe if your phone was updated via OTA then it got the script. I have no idea if this script is carried over into jellybean or not.
Thanks a lot everyone
