Evening all!
After some advice - I need a car kit for my oneX+ and would prefer to use the HTC official one however can only find one for the oneX -- which specifically states its uncompatible with the onex+... Is this really the case? the handsets are practically identical.
Is anyone out there using the officail oneX D110 kit with the oneX+? If so are there any issues?
Thanks
Paddy

All is ok mate. Go for it. The phone fits perfect, and the charging cable is there where meant to be.
+1 do it

It works fine for the HOX+, I have it. The problem I have with it is that it doesn't stick to the dash and I don't like mounting it on the windshield (which I think is illegal in California anyway).
I have a Garmin bean bag mount for my GPS was hoping that it would be the same size ball mount as this mount. I am planning on getting this car dock but have just been too lazy to order it.
The bean bag mount has been great for the GPS.
Here is what the mount looks like.

Anyone buy a docking station/cradle for their HD (like me)?

Kokkie, can you recommend your cradle ? It seems that an official dock will never be released so I'm searching the market, just like a a lot of other people according to this forum.
Your cradle looks nice to me because of the simple silver look, I think the black deluxe cradles are too bombastic. But I haven't seen any other references to this model.
Anybody else using this ?
Sorry for the long bump from a noob, but I thought I'd share the ones I bought for my HD.
I bought these 3 from 4u-mobi.com:
Along with some pretty good screen protectors. They sell all kinds of accessories for HTC. The whole range for the HD is here:
http://www.4u-mobi.com/onlineshop/online_shop_list.php?ssid=330
They came from Hong-Kong it turns out but arrived quickly and the delivery was fairly cheap. I'm in the UK and these came with Euro plugs, but you'd have to ask them if they slel US-plugged versions.
Cheers,
Matt
I purchased the usual ebay model, but it doesn't completely clip into my T-Mobile TP2. It's holding in their strong, but I just don't trust it.
That is very interesting news. Do we really need another thread though?
Edit: Still not closed so here are two suggestions.
1) Try this tread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=580898
2) Check my sig. Hint- click on the blue letters

Well, it's not on all car mounts, it's actually one for the T-Mobile version. The design is difference (doesn't have tapered edges), so I'm pretty convinced that the one I bought doesn't snap in because it's designed for the alternative models. I believe the Tilt2 is designed like the alternative models.

T-Mobile version
Tilt 2 - notice the tapered edges
Oohhhhhhh, my bad. That's a completely different thing altogether. Maybe this link is a better answer for you, http://tinyurl.com/ya47bp4.

It would be except for my mount was found using Google. Clearly mounts made for the alternative model are being sold as T-Mobile compatible when they really aren't.
Just recieved this one, ordered through ebay, and it's of very nice quality. It fits my note perfectly, too perfectly actually, as it wont fit with a case on it. But I like TPU cases that are fairly easy to remove, so I'll just remove the case when I want to mount it in the car

that one looks quite nice, but doesn't seems safe, only 3 point hold
i'm just using a generic one for all cell phones from DX
it works way better
since i keep switching phones faster than i switch accessories, might as well use a universal phone mount for the car

False, fits like a glove and very secure. No way Note will fall out without actually depressing the release tab as it's not a spring load, but formed to fit the note.

Fair enough, but I prefer a custom fit to a generic. I find that a custom fit is far more secure than some foam and springs, and it looks better/cleaner too
I just found out about a barometer in some Android devices, but it doesn't look like HTC phones have a barometer. Anyone have any confirmation? Maybe the hardware is there but there are no drivers?
A barometer would typically be used to help with GPS, but is now being used to help short-term local weather forecasting with PressureNET. I'm in western WA, and anyone around here knows the local weather is difficult to predict. It would be cool to help contribute.
I am pretty sure it doesn't. What devices do have it?

Really?
+1 for what devices have a built in barometer? That seems like a really niche feature for a smartphone.
The Motorola Xoom has one. Originally it was thought it could be used with Google Maps and it would know what floor of a building you were on or so I was told.
They are usually listed as a " pressure sensor" and they are supposed to help with GPS. If I remember correctly the s3 has one.

Yeah, the Xoom and various Samsung devices have one. I was hoping that some HTC phones would possibly have the hardware but not the drivers (yet). Oh well, wishful thinking.
Galaxy nexus has one.

Having a problem getting a direct embedded picture. And the stupid browser is so old.... sorry.
Anyways, the screenshot is of temple run. Notice the "Pressure" entry -- misreported, or is it a barometer reading? Weirdness.

i also heard some people say that the speaker is terrible. can anyone confirm this? as a HTC one owner if the audio quality isn't near as good or as good as the HTC one it will feel like a downgrade for me
Bump

It isn't near as good as the HTC One's audio quality I'd say. The sound is okay for my needs but it hasn't exactly been celebreated in various reviews.

That keyboard case is not compatible with the Xperia Tablet Z. It is for the Xperia Tablet S.
