Hi Guys I m in bit of a trouble I didnt read the instruction correctly (Lesson learned). I bought the HTC Amaze (Intl version) yesterday for my sister. She said she wanted ICS so I unlocked bootloader installed TWRP recovery and rooted it using hasoon kit.
After that I downloaded mikes amazing rom did full wipe in twrp and flashed the rom and I also flash boot.img in fastboot through Hasson Kit.
Now I m stuck at boot phone doesnt get past that my recovery has changed to 4Ext and I redid the full wipe in 4Ext and Flashed the rom and 4Ext itself flashed boot.img but again no luck.
I also made a full backup of stock rom but 4ext doesnt pick it up when i restore What should i do now please help me out. I know that I dont have S-off or superCID.
I m kind of a noob so please help me restore the device because my sister is pissed at me.
Thanks in advance
Ok I have been reading the thread I dont understand a god damn thing. I just want to go back to the stock rom it shipped with how can i do that 4Ext doent pick up the restore But i made a backup which is present in TWRP Backup now how do i get that restored thanks

Sorry, I actually wasn't finished with my reply but I had to drive. Just stopped for gas so I came to finish it. You have two options:
1) Follow these Instructions to get ICS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167596
Edit.
2)follow this to get GB back. Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38142562 and click the download link posted by jauhien. When its downloaded flash it through recovery using 4ext with smartflash enabled in the settings

No prob man. Good luck with S-Off and SuperCID, its all alot easier to do than it sounds. If you have any questions or problems, feel free to ask them in that [guide] thread that i gave u the link for. We will be glad to help you if you need it, as long as you dont create a new thread just to askk it
And there is nothing wrong with noob questions.. they are unavoidable really. The problem is when 7-10 people create a new thread, and all of them r asking the exact same noob questzion, then the next day, 10 more people create new threads asking that same question, when if they would have looked or searched, they would have found at least 1 of those first ten threads and would have either found the answer, or been able to ask theirs in one of them. Same goes for the oringinal 10 who first created the threads..if they would have looked, they would have seen the first one and could have just posted there. So now theres 20+ threads asking the same question when there only needs to be one, and would only be 1 if people just looked or searched.

Im sure a mod will move it here soon.....So you are unlocked with S-On correct and havent done the hboot downgrade??
Did the rom you flash to have google+ on it....I might be able to walk you through the update.
im hboot 1.5 s-on but htc unlocked, i didnt do the downgrade because i cant seem to get a good copy of linux to work.... i installed one 32bit copy but then it was missing everything like sdk and drivers (expected drivers) just mainly a pain in the as...s so i was waiting for a better way around it... im computer savey and phone also i have cdma workshop (paid) and i might do the downgrade soon just seems like it will take forever as far as google stuff know i dont think so... i dont have a single ap.. when i downloaded the market from my phone it opened it but then closed it in a matter of secs, wont let me open
If you need Flash Image GUI, joeykrim (the developer) does give you a full download in his thread here.
By the way, the ROM you flashed should be completely compatible with your phone. If it's in the EVO 3D CDMA development forum, you should be fine flashing it.
What you probably didn't flash was the GAPPs zip. That's the one that will give you Market, Gmail, and other Google applications.
You should be able to still flash the GAPPs zip from your custom recovery (even though your on HBOOT 1.50).
EDIT: By the way, if you wish to still do the downgrade, check out the link in my signature. It is all set up for you (ready to boot, no extra drivers required).

The ROM you flashed was aokp_shooter_build31, correct?
Shooter is our phone model (HTC EVO 3D CDMA). Shooteru is the GSM version.
That ROM hasn't made it into the official list of AOKP ROMs yet. Looks like you flashed this one.
For the downgrade, you'll need to download two RUUs, 2.17 and 1.13. Yes, the device drivers for connecting the phone to the computer are built into the Toolkit. Full directions are in the thread (post #3). It uses Unknownforce's method, but helps to simplify the process.

Yeah with any AOSP rom you normally have to flash google apps on top. I would try what close said and get the GUI app, put it on you sd card, and install the apk then try dl another rom or the google app zip file.
ACtually that wont work if you dont have a way to install APK....give me a minute and then check your PM

You're welcome. If you decide to do the downgrade using the Live CD, you won't have to have Linux preinstalled (It's part of the Toolkit). Also, if you have questions about the CD while you're using it, I would suggest posting in the thread instead of PMing me. You'll likely get a response a lot quicker.

This is getting a little off topic, Especially for a post in the wrong forum. Just for the sake of keeping the forums clean, I am going to see if I can get this moved to the general section as Unknownforce has done with another off topic post.
Sorry. I'm technically not following forum rules myself by responding in this thread in the wrong forum. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to post in the HBOOT Downgrade Toolkit thread in my signature.
In answer to your question, no. You do not need to install Linux. The HBOOT Downgrade Toolkit is a bootable live CD which has a small Linux distro installed, as well as many of the tools you'll need to downgrade your phone. Check out my thread for details. There is a how-to in post #3.

Would this be the right procedure? I was reading the wiki and want to ask..
I would do the following...
(I am rooted; BulletProof 2.5.. Android 2.3.4 - Tmobile)
1) Follow this tutorial to unroot and get back to stock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27058110&postcount=44
2) Follow this tutorial to install ICS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26865752&postcount=27
3) AND...Then... I will be unrooted..
How would I root again on ICS?
So is this the right procedure??
and what would I do for (#3)?

Relocked is the same and when attempting s-off, stock rooted rom is a better call, it saves you the hassle that custom roms may cause.
I mean the MD5 sums fail on both PHP8img w/e name... and the nand backup to restore to original ginger garbage.. so I think it's because I have to relock my bootloader by doing OEM_lock or whatever the command is.
do I have to lock bootloader to go back to stock?
and also.. do I need to flash the original kernel?
come on.. someone answer me please... I will make a REALLY good tutorial noob proof for everyone else when I finish doing this.

I was also having problems with my downloads so I downloaded thru my phone. I also found that I had better luck downloading straight from football's account on file factory. You can find his account on stock roms collection page 5 snargaflab post where it says "here"
Hope this helps, as far as locking bootloader when s on I think you do have to lock bootloader. If nobody is helping I suggest you try it out.

Lock your bootloader via the fastboot oem lock command or use hasoon's tool to do it,
download this file here: http://d-h.st/3VD
Place that on your sd card and rename it PH85IMG do not place it in any folders, etc.
Reboot into hboot via the volume down/power button method, when your hboot finds the file, hit volume up to update, phone will reboot on it's own. You're on ICS.
Unlock your bootloader, install 4ext recovery via hasoon's tool and hit the Perm root ICS/GB option, follow all on screen instructions.
All done, official ICS and you're now rooted as well.
Not sure what to do, I am downloading roms and trying to install them through a bootloader. I have a clockwork recovery mod that I am using.
I deleted HTC sense on accident, idiot move i know.
Can you guys give me some tips or point me in the right direction to get my phone working again?

Not clear at all. How'd you "delete" HTC Sense?
You are supposed to wipe before flashing a ROM. Also, CM9/10 aren't even fully working. So why are you trying to flash it in the first place?

Ok the reason im not making any sense is because I've been up so late trying to fix this. Been learning a lot in the process.
Here's what happened, I was using a file manager (my phone is rooted) and deleted htc sense while it the phone was on. Now I am trying to flash a custom rom through the recovery mode and flash the kernal (boot.img) through fast boot.
Nothing is working. The closest I got was with cyanogen mod 9 but It was giving me errors when trying to connect to any networks.
Did you wipe/factory reset? Otherwise you would have a lot of problems trying to flash cyanogen over sense. Also cyanogen has lots of bugs still.... So I recommend you go with a Sense based rom.... Android Revolution/Energy/Speedrom. Those are the ones that have the least bugs.
Here's your best resolve, reload the stock RUU via hboot, if you're s-on, don't forget to relock the bootloader, if not, just reflash the stock ruu via hboot, that should solve all your issues, I don't get why you'd go to cm9 and 10 instead of a stock based rom, but for the simplest way to resolve the issue would be to flash the stock ruu via hboot.

Unlocking your bootloader using HTCDev Unlock will allow you to flash a custom recovery. With a custom recovery, obtaining root is easy (plenty of flashable ZIPs for this). This has nothing to do with your version of HBOOT (or firmware or OTA version).
Read the guide I linked to above and it will answer these questions...

Hey forum,
First off I'd like to say, I have done quite a bit of searching on this and either get caught up in endless pages of crap I don't fully understand or I just can't find the answer. My apologies if this issue is simple and out there.
With that said, I'm definitely a noob at all the rooting and ROMs for phones. I've spent 20 years using cell phones as.. well, phones! Had no idea the world that was waiting for me and the time consuming hours of research and trial and error.
So I got the Amaze and first off, wanted to root it so I used CWM which is currently running. I then get an update notification for ICS but every time I try to install it, I'm stuck at a green X logo.
Is there a way to install ICS with CWM already on my phone or do I need to remove it first? I have searched for both answers which is why I finally set up an account and created this thread.
Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated!

You might have to unroot it and install ICS firmware before upgrading to ICS roms, Im not completely sure, I might have done this the long way after reading into confusion. The shortest way to get ICS on your amaze is using 4ext to flash a rom if CWM does not work.
Well if ur coming from GB, make sure take everything back to stock..unroot.. stock GB and stock recovrry and relock the bootloader

Download my toolkit. Relock your bootloader. Download the ICS ROM from here. Rename it to PH85IMG. Place on your EXTERNAL SD card. Boot into your bootloader. Let the stock ROM flash.

Thank you Hasoon! I actually wish I had seen this post earlier. I got stuck on so many different threads with users having the same exact issues and I finally was able to relock the phone. Not sure what I was doing wrong but it's all good now.
However, after relocking, I went back to stock instead of just doing the the ICS rom. As I'm typing this, my phone is in the process of of installing ICS via the OTA updater. Now I just want to root it again and move on for now. This crap is way too time consuming for me
**Edit - Is it normal for this phone to sit at the HTC Amaze 4g screen during boot for about a minute? I thought this thing booted super fast before I started messing with it

So you must flash to the stock ics rom before you flash into a custom ics rom if coming from GB?

Yes - you can't just flash the rom, as flashing the RUU in the bootloader as hasoon instructed actually repartitions the phone, and writes a bunch of files you can't flash anyways unless you had s-off(like radio, etc).
And for you or the OP, please click the amaze bible in my signature, it covers all of this, it is well organized- I challenege you to find a question that isn't answered in it(hint: if the question has been asked before, and it likely has, it is answered in that bible!)
