Hi. Today I installed the ROM eXperience v.2.1 following the procedure. I started with .54 Stock Rom, flashed .10 and rooted, flashed .54, installed Atis52 CMW 6.0.1.2, flashed zip file of the ROM, in Aroma I selected Europeans Settings for GPS (I live in Italy), finished installing, cleared cache etc, powered off after first boot when asked, and reinstalled all app. Location based in data\mobile cells doesn't work either, Google Maps asks always to check settings for location. GPS doesn't work at all. What do I do?
when Aroma installer asked for what apps to remove, u checked or unchecked Maps n Location Services??
u needed to UNCHECK that entry for gps to work. now u have to run the process again from beginning starting from stock ROM

Thank you, I solved the problem the way you say also (also by changing GPS settings from Europeans to Default). Anyway, location based on mobile network\WIFI still doesn't work, anyone knows why?
Have u checked it in settings? What does it say?

I checked. Right know it's on (I mean location based on mobile network), but it does not work. If I open Maps and ask for the location, a popup tell me to check settings to set a source of data for establish the location).
U reflashed stock Rom? GPS works ok?
Sent from my Xperia Sola (XDA for Android)
I started from scratch. GPS is working correctly now (I changed in Aroma GPS settings, previously I used Europeans, now Defaults ones), but as I said mobile network based location doesn't work. In this case Maps asks me to check Settings, but there everything is ok (Mobile network and WIFI based location is ON).
This is strange. If location worked ok in stock than it should work here also. This Rom only modifies stock,

If GPS is not available Maps usually uses mobile network based location to give the user an approximative location on the map. In my case, despite having network based location setting turned on in Settings-Location, Maps ask me to setup a source for location. That's the problem.
Have u tried reinstalling maps from play store.

I had the same problem: you need the file NetworkLocation.apk in the \system\app folder and then all will work.

You were right.
Easiest solution:
Download "Google apps package" (Gapp's) for ICS JB 4.0.4
Transfer zip file to internal memory
Boot to CWM recovery and install zip
I checked GPS and it's finally working. Good luck!

hi guys. I've been having the same problem because i totally didn't see the mentioned settings to get the gps to work. So to fix this, i have to re-flash the rom isn't it? So do I have to re-flash the stock rom and repeat the process all over again, or do i just need to re-install the experience v2.1 from recovery?

Hello!
I'm using a Spice Mi-350 phone(It is the same as Lenovo A60). On the stock Google Maps worked perfectly. But recently i flashed Yonip 5.3.7 Rebirth ROM. Since then Google Maps does not work anymore. When ever i open it, it says 'This application requires a working data connection'. I have a fully working data connection and every other app on my phone can access the internet except for Google Maps and it's related apps(like Navigation,Places,Local, etc).
Here is the download link for the Yonip 5.3.7 Rebirth ROM.
www . mediafire . com/?924ns3v1abe6rmn
I would be really very grateful if someone can please check out the problem and detect what is causing the error.
Thanks in advance!
Not really sure this will solve your issue, but sometimes wiping cache and dalvik cache from recovery can solve these issues.

Along with wiping cache and dalvik, I'd suggest going in and fixing permissions as well. Also, go in to setting and clear data.

Hmm, kinda dodgey... Couldn't find an actual forum for this ROM, but I did find this with a good search. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317804&page=149. Some folks in there are talking about 3g issues around page 144/145 or so. Nandroid back to your most recent back up. Does maps work correctly there?
Did the map application come as part of the ROM, or u installed it seperatly from market? Try installing a signed gapps from goo.im for your android version and see if that helps.

The Yonip 5.3.7 is actually just an ICS themed ROM of the original 2.3.5. Google Maps worked perfectly on the original ROM(by original i don't mean stock ROM, it was a slightly modified custom ROM by javum).
Figured it out! Maps 6.14.* is the culprit. Version 6.12 nd below work perfectly! Hopefully 6.15 will work too!
Hi Friends,
I recently rooted my x10i with the help of the xda-developers.com. Now my phone does not hang that much, thanks to everyone. The problem I created is, I removed all stock apps in my x10i such as the wisepilot, timescape etc., I also removed facebook app and all files related to facebook (thinking of installing it fresh from the market). But now after installing facebook from market, it doesn't work. It says katana.facebook something force closed. I also tried with other market apps for facebook, Please help regarding this....
And another problem is my bluetooth doesn't turn on, I am switching it on...it says turning on bluetooth, but never turns on....

Download official Facebook app.
Go to settings/applications/all apps/Bluetooth/ press "clear data"
It should be fine, if it didn't helped try blue FTP app from market.
Last solution is flashing stock frimware (as you said "deleted some apps", so factory reset won't work properly)

You are kidding or you can't really fix?
1-download flashtools (must have app)
2-download stock firmware .ftf
3-Place it at flashtools folder
C:/flashtools/"firmware "
(If firmware is in zip format rename it's extension to ftf)
4-run flashtools
5-click on lightning button then select flash mode

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574185
Just install a cwm recovery.& place Donald HD in sdcard
Then boot to recovery, press backup & restore/backup then wait for recovery to finish with creating backup point
then go to main screen of recovery & press full wipe /factory reset (contacts , SMS , calendar entries ,save of apps & games will delete so create backups)
Then press install zip
Navigate to where you placed the rom & click to install
That's it , enjoy.
PS,do not remove backup in clock work mod folder of your SD, & copy it to your PC, just in case anything goes wrong you can easily switch to stock.

AW: [Q] wifi tethering
If you are on stock SE firmware, even if you have rooted your phone, Wifi tethering wont work for you, as the stock firmware does'nt support tethering. Here is a link with a list of tutorials and custom ROMs (I think all ROMs from android 2.3 support tethering):
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1588192
The easiest way would be to install xrecovery on your stock kernel (you'll find one under "stock kernel based custom ROMs) and then flash a GingerBread(2.3) ROM via xrecovery.
Please press thanks if I helped .
Tnx.
Im using the stock SE ROM.
Kernel 2.6.29
Firmware 2.1-update1
Any chance I could get wifi tethering working w/o installing a custom ROM?

Don't be afraid of flashing Roms in stock kernel, its simplicity itself. If you have already rooted your phone, here's a quick how-to:
1.Download stericson's busybox from the market & install newest version (currently 1.20.2, I think)
2.Download the zip file in this post
3.Download script manager from the market.
4. Extract the files onto your sdcard so that you find the files "chargemon, busybox, xrecovery.tar, readme.txt, installer" in sdcard/download/xrecovery.
5.Open script manager, give superuser permissions (tick 'browse as root' on first startup), navigate to the folder you extracted and run 'installer' as root (tip on the superuser symbol on the top left corner. When activated, it should be green).
6.Download the Rom you want to flash onto your sdcard, a link you'll find in my earlier post(only choose from stock kernel based roms)
7.Reboot.
8. When the SE logo appears, press back button quickly several times. You will boot into xrecovery.
9.Make a backup via xrecovery.
10.wipe data via xrecovery and install your downloaded rom, surprise, via xrecovery.
11.reboot&enjoy!

Looking forward to the files you've mentioned.
1. Can I create a backup of the current kernel & ROM (the SE stock ones which the phone arrived with)?
In case something breaks during the process, I could hopefully revert to these.
2. Can I get the wifi tethering functionality without updating the kernel, only by installing a new ROM?
When I tried the "wifi tether for root users" app it showed an error message that the kernel is missing some components.

So, here is the zip.

Yes, you are able to restore your previous system via an xrecovery backup.

NOTE: I havn't tested this yet, because I havn't had time to reflash & root my X10 MP. As said above, if it doesn't work, I will fix .

What about my question regarding the kernel? as I mentioned, when I tried the other tethering app, the error it displayed was that the kernel is missing some components. so If I use the stock kernel, and only install a new ROM, will this still allow wifi tethering, or do I need to flash a new kernell as well?

Well, I don't think your kernel is missing components, that would
1. Disprove the links in your post and
2. Disprove what tommy posted.
Also, I'm pretty sure that when I was on Minicm7Pro (with stock kernel), I had wifi tethering.
PS.: Bro, if you are using your browser for posting and you are logged in, there's a "Thanks"-button on the bottom left of every post, or if you are using the android app, just click on a post and the option thanks (danke) will appear. Pressing this will for one thing be easier than writing thanks in a new post, and also, many people like it when their thanks meter goes up and will thank you in return.
PPS.: If you alredy know all that and I've just made a fool of myself, sorry . Besides, I'm just testing the method I described myself, I'll give you feedback as soon as everything works .

Secondly, MiniCM7pro always worked well for me, but if you like the stock SE style, try SonyStyle by the same developer.

First of all, did the script work (yet)? Have you tried it yet? Sorry, I havn't tested yet, but I will do so today.
Secondly, MiniCM7pro always worked well for me, but if you like the stock SE style, try SonyStyle by the same developer.

Actually, I remembered, that i can simply see the settings in my wife's mini, which is with the stock ROM, and uses Brancle. I just tried it, works flawlessly. The phone is only rooted, nothing more. Here are the settings:
SSID - elka
BSSID - empty
Wireless encyption - five low-case letters, no numbers, no symbols, for example - abcde, ASCII encoding
Channel - 6
Custom Wifi Ad-hoc - none
Skip wpa_supplicnat - not checked
Auto Associate - not checked
Accsess control - not checked
New client actions - Notify (checked), Sound - Play a ringtone, Light - empty, Allow - empty
Local mode - checked,
DHCP - Gw - 192.168.5.1, Mask - 255.255.255.0, First Host - 100, Lease time - 1200 sec, DNS1 and 2 - empty
NAT - leave everything default
WAN- rmnet0
LAN - empty
What do you mean when you say "laptop failed to connect to phone" - tries, but can't get address, or nothing happens? If nothing happens, try to press the "Associate" button.
I remember, that there was something strange with the password - make it as simple as you can. If it is not working, try temporarily to disable encryption.
I cannot tell the version of Brancle I am using, but Market doesn't offer me an update, so it must the latest one, at least for the stock x10 mini with stock ROM. If you know how to check it - tell me, i will do it.
And something else - check the security settings of the laptop - are the Ad-Hoc networks and WEP encryption allowed? Brancle makes Ad-hoc only, not infrastructural.
Good luck!
EDIT/
As I see from market, the version of Brancle is 0.6.7 (evo)

Tnx Tomny.
I set the same settings as u did, still no luck.
The barnacle log shows: WIFI: failed to reassociate
Im using linux (debian), with network manager, which should be able to connect to an adhoc network,
any ideas?
TIA
Update:
It works for only a single time. The gnome network manager defined the wireless network as "infrastructre", and I changed it to "adhoc".
It connected once, but Im not being able to reconnect again now. ;-(
any suggestions?
Try to connect some other device, to see whether the problem is in the device, or in the Mini/Brancle. What do you mean, saying "not being able to reconnect"? - You cannot see network, you see it, but nothing happens when trying to connect, you can try to connect, but cannot aquire address (ie stuck on "connecting...")

well, the log on barnacle shows "failed to reassociate", but not much else.
how did u define the network on the pc/laptop? any special settings there besides being an "adhoc"?
Could you please check what is the kernel version & OS build number on ur x10mp? (they are listed under settings, in one of the submenus there).
TIA
HI,
I have been facing this problem from last 3 days, i updated MIUI and after that its not working.
Here is what i have done so far.
Edit the host file and put "127.0.0.1 localhost" No Luck.
there was nothing else in the host file which i can comment out, so i even try to paste the IP and then comment it out with # Still Nothing.
Cleared " Play Store Cache" > Nothing
Reset the " Time and Date" > Nothing
Factory Rest the device > No Luck
Install another rom " CM Based" Still the same
Any thing i can find on internet i tried but still stuck with it.
There is one strange thing though, if i try to add an account or open play store with "Mobile Data Connection" its working but not with WIFI.
My wifi is Ok and i even try at a friend's house with his Wifi Connection.
Same Issue.
its driving me crazy so anything else i miss or i can do please suggest.
Thank You
Erase play store data, run it, enter your account details.
If it still doesn't work, reflash gapps.

Try to do the various wipe (excluding the wipe data) and reflash the ROM. For curiosity, which version of ROM you are using?
I had sepratly formated (System, Data,Cache) from mounts and storage.
I am using "MIUI ASNET 3.11.29" i flashed the new verson and then revert back to old one still same.
I don't know why its working with data connection and not Wifi.

Same problem and i tried Stock Rom but still nothing
Same issue here.
Tried everything, and someone told that its related to wifi router ARP - so sorted it out too but result was negative.
And then found at google that its related to some wifi API bug and needs a patch fix. Still searching in dark

Don't think thats the case, cuz i tried with different routers, They can all have the same problem.
But still maybe something we may found which can help
Try these things :
Clear data, cach and uninstall update of play store.. force close to:
1- google play store
2- google play sevices
3- google services framework
Then restart ur phone
Delete gmail from sittings account then sign in
Stop freedom and closed if it's still work
If u r missid up with host file by any program.. u should try fixed by install any app change in host like adfree or adaway .. open app .. hide Ad then restore to default
Remove u battery about 2 minutes
If all these not fixed the problame ..so call samsung ^^

Hi!
So far I have found these problems in Baidu ROM 54.
DOWNLOAD:
http://nj.bs.baidu.com/platform-rom/102_0_I8552_R_2.2.54.61_20140808172629.zip
Doesn't read SD card
Shows no network connectivity for the connection. (I have AT&T)
Can't open Google Play store (Even after applying Market Unlocker fix)
Does someone know how to fix these issues?

You need to flash another CWM and then flash the BAIDU in time to reboot select Disable Recovery fix, so this stuck in CWM CHINESE):good:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2704951
3. Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
4. Wipe Cache Partition.
5. Wipe Dalvik Cache.
6. Install Zip From SDCard And Choose "Baidu Cloud Rom-1.zip".
7. Wait Till It Flash.
8. You'll have one more confirmation to "Disable Recovery fix". Do not ignore and cancel that. Go ahead and Hit Yes, Disable recovery fix. This step will make the CWM stay and will not flash the stock recovery of Baidu Rom over CWM to the device.
9. Reboot And Enjoy.
