You should try rooting via
Odin.
They have a section for your phone on the forum.

Check this thread this may help u. There is a kingo app that is easiest way to root quattro as tested by many users. This one is not personally tested by me but it may help u read all instructions carefully before doing anything. And for cwm this is not necessarily that u use cwm u can only root no need to use cwm but I recommend u to install cwm as all enjoy of rooting is only with cwm.

I don't know about pre rooted firmware. I rooted mine using Impactor which I assume is quite safe.

Download pre-rooted firmware. It will root ur phone and also if u softbrick ur phone u can fix it by flashing it via odin.

There is three way to root your star, by flashing prerooted firmware, by cydia impactor & by cwm method...easiest way to root by cwm method bcz u dont hv to download heavy files...
you people are talking about safe unsafe...all r safe methods only u need to follow correct method...

Hello everyone..
I have a question
When i put my phone in download mode there is a line which says
"custom bin down:yes (2counts)"
When i revert back to stock Rom the counter increase.
Now it reached to 4 counts..
So question is how to reset this counts..
N how to update my phone via OTA??

I really didn't know that we have custom binary counter (!). My phone stays always at NO: 0 counts. Maybe flashing bootloader will help you?

You are using Ace-i which is stuck on GB so any OTA updates will never make any Big Change so leave it
