Hi friends,
I think I have bricked my X10i B'cuz the phone is struck at the Sony Ericsson logo.
What I tried to do?
I was in tripndoid MIUI, so I wanted to upgrade the rom to black edition, so I tried to unlock the boot-loader, I had successfully downgraded the firmware and unlocked the boot-loader and also updated to custom kernel (doomloard)
After that I got in CWM recovery mode and installed the .zip file after cleaning the system cache and dalviks cache, Now the phone refuses to start nor get into flash mode.
I tried removing the battery and reinstalling the battery, but as soon as I put the battery back on the phone lights up at the Sony logo.
Even If it try to charge the phone from the electrical socket, the led of the phone does not turn on, it still gets into the Sony logo and stops there.
The phone gets recognized in the flash tool, its tells the phone is in ADB mode. I cannot put the phone on flash mode anymore.
I tried looking in various threads, but could not get a concrete answer, please help. I have limited access to internet, So i do not have PC companion to try and repair my phone. Is there any way that I can get back my phone alive.
Edit: I just plugged it in, I can get into flash mode.. Anyone please help me how can I flash back to any rom..
Did you flash the upgrade firmware after downgrading and unlocking firmware? Sometimes the Kernel doesn't support certain ROMs as well and it can't boot into the system.
The easy method of flashing the stock SE firmware is by using the X10 Flashtool. Simply download and install it (you might have to turn off anti-virus software as it's listed as a virus of some kind) and install the stock SE 2.3.3 firmware and press flash. Instructions will pop up and your phone will be as good as new. It does mean that you lose everything like ck, recovery, unlocked bootloader, etc.
You can find the Flashtool and the stock firmwares here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
EDIT: To do flashing, you will have to turn the phone off. The X10 may turn on when you reinsert the battery too soon, like you have described. Generally, you should take the battery out for about 5 seconds before reinserting it so the phone actually turns off and doesn't turn back on.
Good luck and don't forget to hit thanks if this helped in some way
@ Panzerfaust101 - I have already hit thanks
I figured it out myself.. here is how I made it through..
Problem - was in the Kernel, just out of some instinct I downloaded Doom's kernel v.006 and some how got the phone into flash mode and flashed the kernel.
After that I was able to navigate into recovery and install the new ROM, but my problem did not stop. Now the phone got struck in the new RoM's startup screen.
So again I downloaded the right version of Doom's kernel for the RoM and flashed it again. So I got the problem solved, but I realized the phone radio was not working, So I again downgraded the firmware and ran the bootunlocker and then updated the phone back to the right kernel.
Now I am able to enjoy the new ROM.
Yeah, it should be your ck. I flashed a ck before (can't remember which one), but for one reason or another, I couldn't get cwm-based recovery working, so I tried another one which couldn't boot anything up properly, so I'm back on stock 2.3.3 (was on the MIUI-based BlackHD Edition. Brilliant ROM btw) waiting for beta+ CM9 ROM for X10 to be released
Btw, for future reference, can you link me the exact Doom ck that you used? I'm probably going to install a custom ROM on mine again and I need to know one that will be guaranteed to work without a problem. Thanks
Cool, you will need Doom's kernal - X10_FXP_DooMKernel-v05a-BootManager-v1.3
Also hope you have the bootlocker unlocked, if not you need to use X10_aZuZu_Kernel_Downgrade_Generic firmware and unlock the boot loader after that you can directly upgrade the firmware to Doom's kernel and install the RoM.
Thanks to DooM and aZuZu for the files.

i've your same problem...how i can plug-in in flash mode?
Try this trick!!!
Remove the battery.
Connect your phone to system with the battery still out.
Now hold the back button and put the battery on, green led will glow.
Now you are on flash mode and this would stay for not more than 5-10 secs
You should have quick fingers, so that you should select the firmware or any update within those ten sec's. Keep trying this will work... BTW its was the only way I could revive my phone.
but pc don't recognize my x10...

Is that the method you use to flashing? I've seen it quite a lot on these forums, but I haven't personally used it before and I've been curious as to what they did. Generally, don't you prepare to flash by pressing the flash button on Flashtool and following the instructions that pop up? i.e. disconnect and turn off phone, hold back button, reconnect phone. I've always used this method for flashing. Doesn't it work properly for some devices?
Also, if the battery's out and the flashing takes 10+ seconds, what happens? does it stay on once it's detected a device flashing the firmware?

The ten seconds isnt a standard just a rough idea. Yeah the flashtool way is proper way to enter flashmode it just that the USB socket on this model isn't the best, many people had problems and basically just found their own way around it.

Pleeease, I need help.
My x10 enters in flash mode with the green led, but it still only 10 seconds on, after that change to SE logo and that's it...I think that it's because it ran out of battery...any solution for this!?!?
After that I can leave it connected by USB but still being with the SE logo and it doesn't seem that the battery is charging.
Even if I take off the battery, put in again and simply connect it by USB the SE logo shows again...I don't know what else to do...
This is Flash tool log:

Kind of a late reply, apologies for that. Yes I followed the same method as listed. Some times your method works but not always!!!
If the battery is below 5% i believe the system will not get you into the flash mode. Since flashing hardly takes few seconds, I suppose the available battery will hold on.
BTW my trick starts only after I get into the flash tool

I don't think its cuz of a battery issue, It cuz of kernel issue. Kindly give a backdrop of what you are trying to do? Might be helpful to correlate the actions.

Yes mate I tried the same tool that you have posted. Yeas I did upgrade the firmware to custom kernel and then went ahead with the installation.
Try this link : http://www.mediafire.com/?3ol6gpykaa5acwo
Thank 7hr08ik for this link. Please use the FXp kernal, not DooM.
Major update is that DooM kernel version that I had installed was completely a phone crasher, So I had to update the kernal and the RoM for a newer version.
Right now I am using FXP kernal with v3 of the blackedition HD v1.3 RoM, So far So good

HELP!
Hi
I had the JB munjeni ROM in my SOLA. I tried to root it, but I flashed a wrong zip. Then my phone didn`t turn on. It responded to hard-reboot and hard-power off. I tried to flash by fastboot kernel and it worked. When it was flashing system.sin, something failed, and now my Sola doesn't respond to hard reboot or power off. It's almost impossible to put it in flashboot or fastboot. Sometimes it gets into fastboot and then shows Sony logo, then nothing happens. The only thing it does is to show red LED when connected.
Please help me! I'm desperated already!
Sola Stuck on Sony logo+battery not charging
Hi guys,
I was using munjeni's jelly bean port+ etch04's experimental kernel for sometime and everything was great until yesterday. My battery died out completely and when I plugged it into the charger it turned on and was stuck in the Sony logo. There was no charging indicator. I thought omg so this is what a hard brick looks like. As you know, the sola's battery isn't removable so I thought I was doomed.Tried a hard reset and there was no difference. So I kept it there (plugged in, stuck in the sony logo) for a while, plugged it out and turned it on. Luckily, IT HAD CHARGED even if the charging indicator or display didn't show it. So I tried turning it on but it got stuck on the sony logo as usual. Since the battery had charged a little, I plugged the phone in fastboot mode and flahed etch04's experimental kernel again. But it still got stuck in the sony logo. Then, as a last resort I flashed the stock ICS .54 kernal using flashtool and IT WORKED! (charged with charging indicator and display)
Then I flashed etch04's kernel again and now everything's back to normal.
Here's the stock ICS .54 kernel.
View attachment MT27_6.1.1.B.1.54_KERNEL.rar
Place it in flashtool/firmware folder and flash with flashtool.
Good Luck!

Hi,
Hope someone can help. I've tried to install a custom ROM today and I'm afraid I managed to brick my phone (Xperia P). Here is what i did:
I started out according to the Starters guide:
-Rooted phone
-Installed CWM
-Made a backup
-Unlocked Bootloader
-Installed JB Moonbreaker 3.5: at this point I was actually still following the starters guide, as in: wiping cache, wiping data, wiping dalvik cache and then installing from zip.
-The phone is currently stuck on the loading screen that comes after "Sony" and "Xperia" (the colorful swirling thingie)
-I can only shut it down by pressing and holding the power and volume up keys until it vibrates 3 times in a row.
-Starting with pressing volume down key repeatedly will not bring up CWM (also gets stuck on the same screen).
-Will also not fastboot anymore properly. (waiting for device for "fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version"; LED on device will not even light up as blue, goes to green instantly)
-In Device Manager I can see it as "Android" with a yellow exclamation mark.
-Sony PC Companion gives me the "My Sony Xperia P LT22 is connected" popup every 15 seconds but will actually not show the device as connected
I'm wondering if I can flash a stock rom on it to recover it or if there is anything else that can be done.
Thanks in advance

Can't seem to get it flashed from flashtool. I'm pressing the back button and connecting the USB and I'M just getting the same stuff on the phone, while flashtool is waiting for the phone.
I did manage to enter fastboot again though. Should I be flashing CWM from here (since I can't enter it). Or kernel then rom? I'm a bit lost.

Its volume down key and Plug in USB, to enter flashmode
Not back button.
Or flash a kernel by fastboot mode, enter CWM and install the ROM (assuming you have the zip file in the SD card )

Alright done all that, still is the same. I've started to play with other USB ports and I noticed that when I get connected it tries installing the SEMC Flash device driver. It fails with "device unplugged" message exactly at the same time when when the Sony logo appears. Then it tries installing MTU USB Device as well. Reinstalled flashtool drivers and tried in different ports. It seems as if the phone is not staying in flashmode?

I recall I had that issue with wundows 7 at the beginning, what I did then was to boot my windows xp and managed to flash from there.
I have tried many things since, and if I am not mistaken it's installing flahtool drivers that fixed it finally.
I think there are 3 drivers there you need to install.

did you tried to flash the rom over ICS, if yes then thats why your p got stuck at boot, coz i too got the same prob, when i tried to flash the JB moonbreaker over ICS, so what i did was pressed the power button and volume up button till 3 vibration, start flashtool and flash stock ICS firmware, but don't uncheck wipe data, otherwise you will get bootloop, after flashing is complete, now download and flash stock JB firmware, root your phone using doomlord's easy root kit or any other way you know, install cwm and now reboot into cwm flash JB stock or custom kernel and then the rom, thats it, just let me know if the prob is solved, thanks

Stuck on boot
Guys I have the same problem.
I wasn't satisfied with the rom I put on my phone so I went on to put another one on it.
Flashed the kernel with fastboot, went into cwm, deleted system, cache etc. and went on to flash the rom, but there was no rom zip there, and I was sure I had put it. It was probably an error during the copy procces and it just stopped, I assumed it copied.
Well, now it is just stuck on the boot screen. I can get into fastboot and cwm, but I have nothing to flash.
I tried using the Sony recovery "Emma" but it just stays blank when I connect the phone..
Is there something else I can do?

Hi
I think im facing a very similar issue, i m very new to this and therefore didnt understand the solution. I did visit the developer site for emma, but can you tell me the exact thing to do after starting Emma. I mean, when do i connect the phone and how, what commands to give. Below is explanation of how i got into this and what all ive tried.
OK i ve been trying to flash a new custom rom on my Xperia P, i looked at a number of guidelines and doing things step by step.
Since im very new to this i downloaded a few Roms. I was following the guide "http://droidors.com/2014/07/08/update-xperia-p-lt22i-to-android-4-4-4-kitkat-with-slimkat-custom-rom/2/" and everything was going fine. I reached the step to "fastboot flash boot boot.img", i did that and then went on the next step to boot in CWM Recovery and install the zip rom and the Gapps. During the Zip Rom install i got status 7 error.
Now, i noticed that i might have flashed the wrong Rom so rechecked the guide and installed the correct Rom which is mentioned in "http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/p-development/rom-slimkat-4-4-2-release-candidate-t2657795" . But now THE PROBLEM IS, AFTER I FLASHED THE INCORRECT IMG, MY PC IS NOT RECOGNISING THE XPERIA P SAYING IT DOESNOT RECOGNISE THE DRIVERS, therefore im not able to copy the ROM Zip on the SDcard, to then run it from CWM.
After sometime i tried the below
Ok, now i tried to flash the stock Rom through this link "http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/p-development/ftf-firmware-xperia-p-generic-world-t2322163", through flashtool to bring my phone back to life. I installed the drivers as per instructions from drivers folder, but for some reason the pc is just not accepting. I did install through this exact method yesterday night and it worked perfectly.
Please suggest. I hope im asking at the right place.
Urgent help please
I forgot to mention, after I flashed the SlimKat Rom, and things went out of hand ( till this point i could see Slimkat logo at boot and could also go in CWM Recovery ), I tried to restore through Nandroid Backup i had done. As soon i selected the restore option and then the backup file, within 2-3 seconds the phone went off, and then on boot all i can do is see "SONY" on screen. Nothing else happens.
I ve tried all this on a different machine, with different wires and different USB port, no luck
Kindly advise, im stuck with no spare phone.
Solved i guess
OK Brother,
I downloaded EMMA and am currently downloading the service. It is very self explanatory. What was amazing is when i recognised my phone "What a sight "
Flashtools wasnt able to do that, so i guess the manufacture tools are damn important ( i wasnt exactly of the opinion before )
Also it is downloading Android 4.0.4 Build 6.1.1.b.1.54, which first came on the device, which also makes me think may be i should have tried that rather than trying to flash with the JB Rom all this while.
Man, i was scared. Thanks for this thread Bro.
God Bless
Will inform once the phone is booted up to confirm it worked.
Emma Worked
OK guys, I can confirm its EMMA "Flash tool for Xperia" fixed the problem for me. It installed 4.0.4 on it.
Also there is a pdf in the Download which guides about the usage.
Sigh
Correction- it installed the latest stock ROM jb
Hello, Im here looking for some help with my Sony Go ST27i, yesterday I rooted it successfully, but then I tried to flash a better kernel via recovery and it went down, since that I cant turn it on, when I try it it blinks the battery light (red color), I've done some research and every website and every forum give the same solutions:
-use the keys combinations to do hard reset
-flash origianal ROM via fastboot
the problem is that none of this worked, I'm starting to get worried, cuz I think theres no way back (
I checked with that weird command *#*#.....#*#* and my device doesnt allow to enable bootloader.

Alright. Plug your device into a wall charger. In all likelihood it will bootloop. Let it stay there for some time(preferably overnight). After that, try to get into fastboot. Once you're in fastboot, flash the stock kernel back.

I deleted my OS in TWRP recovery, I've tried doing many things but none of them have worked. I tried flashing a stock kernel using fastboot, flashtool, using sony's flashtool Emma but all of them gave an error. My bootloader was unlocked and i think USB debugging was on but i can't be completely certain. And I'm not sure if the phone is charging or not because it's just stuck on the sony logo. The model is D6503. I'm pretty new to this stuff so i don't know what to do, if you need any more information i'll try to provide it as fast as i can. Thanks in advance.
Do you still have access tp TWRP? If you do, just go into the recovery flash a custom rom from XDA then try to return to stock if you want.

Yes I have used flashtool before. It gets stuck while flashing data and doesn't move on any further. I left it running at night and when i came back to it 10 hours later it was still stuck on the same step. Maybe it's a battery problem and it runs out during the procedure, but i can't check the batterly level because whenever i try to charge it i get the sony logo and it stays stuck like that. I tried the red button at the side next to the SD card slot but it just vibrates 3 times and then turns itself back on when i plug it back into the charger and gets stuck on the sony logo again.

Have you ever experienced battery drain issues before this happened? And can you connect the phone in the fastboot and flashmode?

My battery life is pretty bad overall it especially drains really fast after reaching 15-30%. Yes I can still connect to fastboot and flashmode. I've tried using both to flash a stock rom/kernel but both of them gave errors.
When I try to use flashtool it gets stuck at some point and doesn't go any further. When i try to flash using fastboot i get an unknown error within seconds and it doesnt work.

Strange... It can be the battery because if you can connect to flashmode/fastboot mode this means phone is still alive. I also had a battery isue too which didn't let me boot the phone at all. Anyway you should leave your phone on charge for overnight then try to flash something next day ornif you can someone open the backcover of your phone you can try to dissconect the battery and boot the phone while connected to charge but if you don't know how to open it please don't do it.

Just tried disconnecting battery and booting while plugged in, it just shows me the battery charging icon and stays like that.

Hmm strange... I am sure that you can't get into flash mode without the battery. But I am kinda sure the problem is the battery becuase when my old battery died my phone just kept blinking on Sony XPERIA logo. Anyway I think you should get other's idea as well.
