Hi. My S3 will only boot into the samsung logo screen and go no further. I've read about the SDS but the sysmptoms for that are the phone not starting at all. Mine will boot, I can get into Download and Recovery modes and it will even allow me to flash the samsung custom rom to it via Odin with no probs - however, even after flashing the rom (and I've tried several from sammobile) it still goes no further than the samsung logo screen. It will even allow me to recover the CWM backup I have on the external SD card - but again, sticks on the logo screen when rebooting - any ideas?

Did that - cleared cache and dalvik cached and factory reset - still won't go further than logo screen.
When I recover the backup I had (which I did with Siyah Kernel installed - the one with the fix) it then sticks on the Siyah logo when rebooted.
Just noticed I get an error when trying to do anything saying "unable to mount /EFS" - I have an EFS backup on my PC but cannot see the galaxy s3 from my PC.
Sounds lilke your efs partition is corrupt, restore your backup and it should boot again.
tried restoring the backup - seems to go through but it still hangs on the boot logo. Looks like phone will need to go back for repair...
Try to clear cach and dalvik.
It happened to me and was the solution...

he was talking about the efs backup. look at the root of the sdcard, siyah might've done it automatically

Ok so I'm fairly new to the rooting scene, and these forums, but so far everything has been pretty good, except for one small problem. I installed a custom boot logo, and afterwards my phone was lagging a bit. I contacted the boot logo programmer, with no response, so I decided to wipe my system and use the backup from right before I installed the custom boot logo. Unfortunately, the boot logo has not changed, and my phone 'fails' whenever I try to flash something from Odin. Anyone know what to do in this situation.
If you want to do a full wipe of you device, cos it sounds like tha boot logo is corrupt, then boot to recovery and wipe cache partition and dalvik cache.then go to "storage and mounts" and format system, data and cache.Select "Go Back" and factory reset your phone and reboot. If it doesnt go past the boot logo after 1min then pull the battery, put it back in and turn it back on.Its a pain in the arse but it will completely clean up your device and if you where rooted you will need to probably reroot but berfore hand plug in your phone to your PC so it gets recognized again.
EDIT:Just incase, first of all download titanium backup from the market and backup your apps!!!!

You need to wipe usb storage, sd card, then put phone in download mode, flash stock ROM using Odin. You need to fully wipe everything.

I've trying reflashing the stock ROM and kernel; however, it gives me a FAIL and says can't open the serial (COM) port.
I have solved the problem by closing Samsung Kies and wiping the system, thanks for all the help offered.
I was trying to factory reset my phone. I removed SD card and dialed this code *2767*3855#
, but now its stuck in bootloop. Samsung animation without sound again and again. Then insterted SD card with a cwm backup, tried to restore via cwm, but again boot loop.
Flash Rom via ODIN
I suppose this is a filesystem problem, have you ever mess with it? (Rfs, ext4 and such)
Flash DXKPB (The one I use to repair my usual bootloop) with Odin, Full package. Make sure it has data.rfs flashed (You can see it in odin log)
I suppose this is

OK Just flashed via Odin, and cleared cache and data and working. Thanx everybody.
But CWM really let me down. I didn't mess with any system files or like that.
Were You trying to flash new rom?
No, I just got a new Class 10 sd card, so I thougt to put it in after a factory reset so that things may get faster.
I had the same issue with my phone after installing Cyanogenmod well not exactly after but once I attempted to boot back to my phone decided to ignore any rom backup. I had to reinstall Gingerbread on my phone again and then using odin once I figured this out it only took me 10 minutes to get back on my mobile then I just recovered my default ROM using clockwork. Hope this helped.

Press thanks if i helped..
Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, P6200.
ROM: CM9.
Started with the device rebooting every time I tried to do nandroid backup when it got to backing up /data. I attempted to factory reset but then CWM (6.0.1.0) just hanged at formatting /data.
Then I attempted to do factory reset from the ROM (CM9). The device got stuck in a bootloop of trying to format /data and just hanging there. The device kept turning itself back on when turned off to go into this ridiculous loop.
Is my on-board sdcard fried or something? Anything I can do?
UPDATE: Fixed it, I hope. . . Ran f2sck from recovery on mmcblk0p10, needed three rounds before all the errors were gone. Then could successfully do factory reset and reinstall ROM. Restoring from backups now, hopefully nothing borks again,
try to get back to the stock rom via odin it will overwrite the data partition and of course the recovery image so ure back to 0 than and are able to continue what u wanted to do
Hi everyone, i've got a huge problem with my i9300, i've got the foxhound/[email protected] rom since a week, and everything worked fine, i updated once without problems, however today i did the update with usual procedure, but now i've rebooted and i'm stuck on a bootloop after the apps optimizing part, where Android tries to optimize two apps, then open them, but then boot animation starts again over and over.
I tried going into recovery but it did not do anything, so i i tried flashing CWM via Odin, however now if i try starting in recovery only the samsung boot screen shows up and stays there forever.
Please help me

Hi guys.
I got a problem.
Got tired of lags, so i decided to wipe (data + dalvik) and reinstall Omega 27.1.
Now i can't boot up the phone - it just starts up CWM (6.0.1.2) when i reboot. Have tried to pull battery and when i insert it recovery just comes up.
What have i missed?
I have tried to install again, with and without wipes but still the same.
Can't restore nandroid either. Getting error on restoring /data, and just comes back to CWM again.
I'm kinda stuck.. ideas?
EDIT:
Just did a nandroid restore, error on restoring /data as always, but i rebooted and got into Android. I had to type in my google account information again, and all apps crashes all the time.
So I rebooted to recovery, and installed 27.1 (did a full wipe again), and now i can't get past recovery again.
Wtf?

Yes, it seems to be the only thing to do..
But does anyone know what is causing this?
Can't be the boot.img, because restoring the boot (wipes+restores) doesn't work. And installing a new rom also adds a new boot.img.
