Hi there, ive rooted and got superuser ans es file manager and i cannot delete any apps from the 983?

Download the Rom Toolbox APK and install it, that program will help you to delete those applications.
Can you give me you BackUp Rom, or the system/app/FILES, please?

is it a custom dialer? or it's the stock apk of another device???

...OR it needs to be placed where it belongs, aka /system/app and be given the correct permissions!

My boss wanted me to upgrade his phone, so i did... he doesn't like the stock app that's being used in this build (xipher). Is there anything i can do to get him back to the stock one with the bubbles? Thanks in advance!
Yikes hopefully he or she doesn't fire you. Just kidding I believe you need to push the samsung messaging .apk with adb.

With Root explorer you'd move the Samsung .apk into /system/app

I am not a developer but still you can try my method:
I have attached "gallery 3d.apk" and "gallery 3d.odex"
download the attachment and then install it and if you have root than through root explorer move it to "system/app"

Have you already tried to restore it with Titanium Backup?
Good luck !
P.S.: Restoring from a nandroid backup is also possible in TB Pro app.
Copy the apk from RR zip file and install it in Omega using ES Explorer in system/app

i've done that and changed permisions too..diddn't work
forgot to back up the my files apk and .odex while trying a new one
the new one doesn't work
and now I'm left with no my files app
so if someone can help and post his my files apk and .odex..I would be very grateful
I'm running official jb 4.1.2 rom

Hmmm. It's not hard to flash the firmware again. Backup your apps with titanium backup. Reflash clean firmware and root it. Restore your files again. Then you should be having the My Files application.

Use root explorer. Copy both files in system/app. Paste there. Then search for the files and set correct permission. I just did that. And it worked fine once you reboot the device.
