[Request] Connor P's Theme zip file. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Can anyone take Connor P's theme found here.
http://mycolorscreen.com/2013/02/13/mnml-blue-2/
And make a zip thats usable with CWM Touch please?
I've attempted multiple times to get it correctly and I still can't achieve what i'm trying to do.
If its possible. I would like someone to make a .zip so i can just run it thru CWM Touch and reboot. And wala .. it will be there kind of thing.
Please let me know if this can be done.
thanks!

Instructions seem to be pretty self explanatory. I highly doubt anyone would take the time to if it's even possible. Which im assuming it isn't since it's basically a nova/apex layout, not really a "theme". Probably another good indicator it's not possible or that guy would've made a flash able zip to begin with. Id reread the instructions carefully and if its not working, you're probably doing something wrong.

If it is possible it wouldn't be a flashable zip, but a saved setup you would have to put into a folder for Nova to restore. I'm not sure if it will let you use someone else saved setup though.

Yeaaah...what this guy said

All you have to do is spend 10 minutes figuring out how UCCW works and the rest is easy. The instructions are right there on the site. It's not as hard as it looks =)

Customize Lockscreen

Hi all,
I know how to change the wallpaper on the lockscreen but I was wondering if it's possible to remove the grey band displaying the operator and the time. It really doesn't match my wallpaper I've searched for this but I can't find any solution.
Drizzys rom has the type of lockscreen you are after. Drop him a PM and see if he can help.
It would be great if Drizzy could provide the way that the lockscreen can be customized so we can all know, instead of PMing each other.
Thanks ritdaw. I'll give it a look.
ill second that, this would be really really interesting!!

Perhaps once spamianspoon has some answers he can share with the rest of us.
You need to get one a ressource apk from your phone (/system/app/htc-ressources.apk or something like that), extract it (renaming it to .zip will do magic ), mod the ressource you need to, zip it and upload it back to your phone after renaming it to .apk .
Of course, you need to be root, and you must do a backup (nandroid is perfect for that) since it can make your current system unbootable
Thanks Dream team. I'll give it a try. Bit busy right now, so it'll be a few days. Have you done this yourself?
Cheers.

Bootable Root SDCard 1.4.0, 1.4.1, 1.4.2

I expanded on Indirect's bootable root sdcard and create an image that includes a update.zip image. The purpose of this is to root your Nook Tablet so additional software can be installed from the Android market or other sources. You will need a Micro SDCard that is at least 2 GB. If you want to add additional applications, flash this image to the sdcard then put your sdcard in the computer, open up the update.zip file and add your applications to the data folder. This has been tested on 1.4.0, 1.4.1, and 1.4.2 and everything works. Once your nook tablet has been root, you can reformat your sdcard from within the nook and use it as you normally would. Remember, if you have to do this again, you can just reflash the image to the sdcard.
This will add the following:
root
superuser
gapps
unknown sources hack
ez file explorer
adw launcher
Home Catcher
Home Manager (allows you to switch between launchers easily)
BHT
busybox
NT Hidden Setting
GetJar
Amazon App Store
Slashtop HD (Free from getjar)
Unzip file
Flash the image to an SDCard greater than 2GB
Power Down Nook
Put in sdcard
Boot nook
Choose "Apply update.zip from sdcard"
When it is finish, remove sdcard and choose reboot.
Thanks quid246 for pointing out an issue with the permissions.

Yeah, I added the unknown sources hack to yours and indirect images. I was really doing it for myself then I just threw it out here. Thanks.
Thanks Brian. Worked just fine. I do have a question, though. I don't get the Amazon app store and the only g apps I get are search and the market? Somebody in the other forum mentioned google plus. I don't have that, gmail, or anything else. Am I supposed to?

What came first the chicken or the egg? Let me try...
1) Indirect creates the 1.4.1 SD Card root method
2) Indirect enlists the help of brianf21 to "finish what he started"
3) Indirect disappears from the thread never to be seen again
4) Albert creates his SD card thread
5) Brian takes his work and creates a thread where he has control of the OP
Is this close? As someone who has been on this site pretty much everyday for a couple of weeks now I "assumed" that Albert's cards were simply Indirect/Brian stuff packaged with better instructions. Is this true? If not I apologize.

Indirect asked for help in regards to adding the unknown sources hack and in addition to that, I added other apps and your BHT binaries and busybox. Indirect, had one zip for root and another zip for GAPPS. This does that and more. So, it was more then just one line. I assumed Albert and Indirect were working together on their zips.
Just did update today. Only thing I noted was clockwork update did not give me load update.zip directly. Ihate to select install.zip then point it to update.zip.
That did work just fine.
Thanks
Just for clarifications sake. I have had a compilation thread on rooting with SD cards as new processes have evolved since January 11th at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439630. This includes your work brian and others and all credit has been given. I have shot video tutorials and hosted my own files. Also, Indirect and I do not work together on zips. Everyone here works independently, unless otherwise specified. I sometimes mention "we" when referring to developers in my videos because I am talking about the community. So, no, indirect and I do not work together on a single project. We have become friends since we were the first ones to achieve root together and document it, He did not have a nook tablet and I did, we shared my desktop over the net and he programmed the root while I controlled the tablet. We also talk occasionally over gtalk. Other than that... This is why I posted that this thread looks familiar, because it did look very similar to the thread I already created.

Looking at your files, it looks like you were able to perfect many flash file errors that were previously causing problems. I do like the setup you have but I am confused on why you are forcing the end user to partition 2 gigs. That file is huge and takes forever to generate the image. Just a suggestion.
---------- Post added at 07:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:44 PM ----------
Brian, were you able to include the live wallpaper hack? and the keyboard hack? this is something that was left out of the SD card root method and was included in the original zergy hack.

Originally, I did not have an sdcard to work with so I just create an empty file and mounted it as a sdcard and worked with that. A lot of people were having problems so I went out and picked up a 2gb card so I could test it myself. At that point, I just dd'ed the sdcard to create the image. I can make it smaller for future images.

I noticed that it doesn't always mount the /sdcard. If you mount the sdcard from within CWM, then it will find the update.zip. Why this happens, I do not know.
Good stuff. Worked perfectly
This is about the third one of these things I can't seem to get to work.
Before, it would randomly boot into CWM and then abort when I tried to install something. Now, with this file, I can't even get into CWM. Driving me nuts. I put the damn thing on the SD card after unzipping it, is it just giving me hell because I put the nook through a factory reset trying to get the other file to flash correctly?

Partition your sdcard using this instrutions boot into CWM wipe data, advanced> dalvik cache and you're good to flash a new ROM like CM7>> it formats system while installing so you dont have to do that, if you go back to stock do the wipes, its better to start fresh when you flash a new ROM.

Lost root, can't side load with NT Hidden Settings app on
I just noticed that in the past few days my NT upgraded from 1.4.0 to 1.4.1 even though I rooted with the method in this thread and turned off ota updating with the NT HIdden Settings app. So it's looking to me that this is not actually turning off the ota's. I just thought I'd mention this so anyone using this method uses another method to block updates.
A report on new 8gb tablets. Shipped with 1.4.2.
Tried every method out there: all of these methods out there result in the stock factory recovery prompt.
I just tried this out after updating to 1.4.2, and it works successfully (16 GB NT), so I suppose you can change the title to 1.4.0, 1.4.1, and 1.4.2 . I used the Win32DiskImager from indirect's thread to flash the image to my SD card in case anyone is still unclear on it.

Bootanimation Request

Since Samsung has decided to be non standard and not use a simple bootanimation.zip and instead use their qmg files I have no clue how to change my boot animation. I really just want the stock animation from the Nexus, not a fan of the Samsung one and figured since I am rooted etc. might as well use the Nexus one. No clue if anyone here can actually make them either, just figured I would ask.
Guess it's not possible, too bad, but oh well.
Check here
This is what I used
Oh, nice! I figured it was impossible since Samsung likes to be dumb about certain things.
I was a little confused with his instructions as first but finally got it.
This is exactly what I did step by step:
Navigate to system/media & deleted both bootsamsungloop.qmg and bootsamsung.qmg. and while still in the system/media folder paste the Nexus bootanimation zip here
Next I navigated to system/bin and deleted samsungani and while still in system/bin I renamed bootanimation to samsungani.
Now I did all of this to a ROM zip using 7zip because I prefer it this way but either way will work fine
---------- Post added at 04:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:54 PM ----------
Oh and if you want to get rid of the bootup and power off sounds navigate to system/media/audio/ui and delete the PowerOn.ogg and PowerOff.ogg files. There are four folders in here as well: BST, SPR,VMU & XAS and each of them contain a PowerOn.ogg file. I deleted the one in the SPR folder which removed the sound but since your on Verizon I'm not sure which one you should delete.
ThIs works on the stock/rooted ROM, but it doesnt work with beans ROM for some reason.
Oh good I couldn't get this to work on beans either I thought it was me lol

I had a flaming skull boot ani that worked perfect until I flashed beans ROM.
Then it stopped and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING I tried would get it working again so I finally gave up.

Did you do anything different than what it says here??
I ask because i follwed these instructions back when i did the root66 thing and it worked perfectly, when I tried the same thing with beans I could never get it to work.
Edit: NVM, I went back and tried all the steps again and now it works just fine.
I must have forgotten one step the second time, although I was almost positive I didn't.

Removing them doesn't hurt a thing (except that you have to reflash if you want to restore them), but there is no advantage whatever to doing that.

[Q] Anyone know why this bootanimation.zip isn't working?

Hi,
I'm trying to create a custom boot animation, for my Android mini pc but this doesn't seem to work on boot animation factory. Any help is appreciated!.
I used to make boot animations back in the day, but it has been a bit, so might be a bit rusty. However, I am pretty sure your issue is that you have the Part 0 folder nestled in another folder called Part 0. Remove one of them and try again.
Just make sure the bootanimation.zip is being placed where the system is actually storing the zip. With htc you had to manually change the default directory the app was saving to as it was different to Samsung and stock android location.

EDIT: Still doesn't work, says index is out of range
Where are you seeing the index out of range comment? Only info I could find on that was from a program called Boot Animation Factory and the dev suggested it was an issue with AMD processors for some reason. Not sure if it is applicable for you, just throwing it out there.

Are you compressing the file at all? Pretty certain that it has to be zipped with NO compression. That or the desc.txt isn't quite right. Or the naming of the files is not correct.

[Q] Can someone help me finish this debloat script without TWRP error 6?

Hi all,
I have got a modified version of the below script but attempting flashing in TWRP gets an "Error 6" code. I have a rooted S8 running Android 7.0
*NOTE: I am NOT taking credit for this script and I have simply downloaded it and wanted to use with my S8. I have messaged @Windforce0511 to seek guidance on how to get this to work but we were unable to workout what is wrong with this modified version.
The script is "DEBLOAT_Script_Samsung_Nougat&Marshmallow_Windfor ce0511.zip" taken from https://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...cript-t3649953 however I have attached my modified version "Debloat S8 Script.zip"
I'm not really sure what may be causing the error. I edited some lines within Notepad ++ but must have got something wrong.
The intention of the script is to massively debloat and leave only core functionality. It's essentially including all the stuff I have safely frozen.
So if anyone is able to have a look at the zip and see what's gone wrong that'd be great. I'm mindful that there may be APKs listed in the script to delete that may not exist in our S8 firmware, but I presume that if something isn't present it'll just skip passed that and move onto the next entry?
And again, this isn't my original work and neither am I claiming this is ready to flash, as it currently doesn't work!
Perhaps if we can get this to work then we can add to it, ammend it and make this a 'working debloat script thread', as I know I'm not alone in wanting to debloat. I know there is debate whether one should or not, but as far as Android goes, it's always nice to have the option! I would love to make this script grow (once working of course) and have it remove all non-essential apk's, libs etc. This is of course subjective so would be great if we could work together and create custom scripts, like extreme debloat and light versions...

Hi guys, sorry but please don't mind me asking what about the Format & Language? Does EOL conversion & Blank Operations matter?
Coincidentally, I am also having Error 6 in TWRP while trying to flash my own debloat script, its really frustrating to edit > zip > reboot > flash > fail > reboot > unzip > edit all over again and again and again.
Hope any of you could shine me some light. Cheers.
