CIFS on any AOSP kernel? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Does anyone know if any of the AOSP kernels compatible with the Verizon Galaxy Note II have CIFS support? I tried the included "Trinity Carbon" kernel included with PACman to no avail.
I suppose I am spoiled by the audio, screen, and general functionality of the Perseus kernel.

self bump! I wanted to try this kernel. However, the download link is broken.

It is kindof funny, I'm used to having AOSP kernels that support CIFS, as opposed to stock-based kernels with CIFS support.

cifs.ko for ATT stock ROM?

I tried a few cifs.ko for non-ATT SGS2 but they were not working.
Has anyone got the cifs working for ATT SGS2? As far as I can tell, entrophy ROM is the only one that has built-in support for cifs.

[Q] ICS ROM with working TVout and encryption + other questions

Noob alert!
From what I heard is that CyanogenMod is one of the best ROMs, that was why I was thinking on installing it.
It is also based on the AOSP which makes the code cleaner with less bloatware I guess.
The problem is that I checked the nightly build known issues FAQ and there is no TV out or encryption, nor BLN, which are all very cool features to me.
1) Can you guys recommend me any other ROMs to look into? (that is CF-root CWM friendly)
2) What other advantages are there to the ROM being forked from AOSP?
3) I have recently used CF-root and have kernel [email protected] #2
Is there any problem in using kTool to flash to a 3.x kernel? Do I need to do anything first?
Thank you for the help.

[Q] Differences between Kernels, Jelly Beans Rom

Hello all first post here,
I have been using the jelly beans rom since version 19 and am very happy with it. I love the aroma installer but I am confused about the differences between the kernel choices. I see different performance and capabilities between the kernels but nothing comprehensive. does anyone out there know where I can see the features and functions of each kernel. things like fast charge support combatability with beoffla sound etc. Thank you all. The kernel choices are:
stock
devil
sabre
Faux
Each kernel has its own thread. You probably want to look in each thread for that information.

[Q] Custom Kernel For 4.4.2 ROM's?

Are there any custom kernels available for the 4.4.2 ROM's with some added governors (intellidemand) and stuff like S2W or DT2W? Or are the only kernels available the ones that come with the ROM's?
The CM ROM posted for the new layout has s2w, but that's it.
The kernel still isn't finalized, so posting a custom version that'll be outdated the next day really isn't worth any dev's time at this point. Besides the fact that many kernel devs have moved on to other devices or have just been busy.
